• Voter I.D.
States that require photo I.D.s for voters should be obliged to provide mobile units in areas where the office is 5 or miles away. These units should be placed outside of churches and supermarkets for ease of use by those who cannot get to Motor Vehicle Departments.

The Iraq war is for oil. Oil companies make billions in profits. The oil companies – not the tax payers – need to foot the bill.

  • Lets minimize second hand smoking. Please stop smoking while walking!
It's mainly about my concern with avoiding potential health issues that are caused by the smoke inhaled from second hand smoke. People that smoke have decided against their own risks of health problems to smoke, unlike the non smoking population. We are subjected to inhale the smoke that smokers let put at almost every turning corner of the city. I just want the same freedom and ability to choose. I choose to be smoke free. I know that people are their own person and make their own decisions, but when those decisions affect more than just one individual it is viewed as a problem. There are babies (children) that are constantly subjected to this. Smokers should have their freedom to smoke, but in their own home or in a designated area where other smokers are. Walking along in the street with a cigarette on hand should not be allowed at all. It will help with the pollution as well. I'm not a public figure, just a concerned mother. I see how many people die each year just from issues brought on by the effects of second hand smoke inhalation. Did they have a choice? If this law is to be passed it will minimize the number of death from second hand smoke inhalation, and In turn help with the healthcare issues that these conditions cause by bringing the number of hospitalizations down due to this very problem. My community has a lot of smokers, and i choose to stand up for what is right, and we deserve to have clean air to breath as we commute to work, school, and any other place we decide to go without being subjected to endure these conditions. Bad enough we have other issues to worry about with our community and our children; this would help all those that choose to not smoke stay healthier. Thank you for taking the time out to read my petition. i hope you can sign it and support this cause.

  • Arrest Sheldon Adelson
Our justice department needs to arrest Sheldon Adelson for violation of the foreign corrupt practices act in Macau China where he bribed a local official against the advice of his American Lawyers whom he then fired before he can buy the election of a Republican President he believes will not prosecute him.

  • Arrest Sheldon Adelson
Sheldon Adelson clearly violated the foriegn corrupt practices act in Macau China when he bought a local official there for $700,000 against the advice of his American Lawyers who he then fired, but he is trying to buy the presidency for the Republican Party so that they will not prosecute him. Citizens United has done enough damage so we must stop criminals from buying favors from politicans with their ill gotten gains.

  • Boycott Masterpiece Cakeshop
The owners of this shop recently turned away a gay couple shopping for a wedding cake because they "don't serve gay weddings." This is an extremely exciting and special time in a young couples' lives, an experience they'll hopefully never have again. They've spent time dreaming up their perfect day to celebrate their love and commitment to each other, and they admiringly chose this business to add one of the most traditional pieces to their ceremony: the cake. But they were denied service because of their sexuality. As a member of the LGBT community in the area, I am appalled at this abhorrent behavior. We need to send a message to them that in this day and age, bigotry cannot and will not be tolerated. I'm not sure how the cakes taste, but I know how bigotry and hate tastes and it is disgusting.

  • Save Lives & Money!
I have been waiting for a kidney transplant for 6 years, living a horrible life on dialysis. I see myself getting sicker & sicker as I spend 3 days a week, 4 hours a day at dialysis. I was 32 when this process started & hope everyday to get that phone call of a new kidney... & even more, I hope everyday that I will live another day. I propose that we make organ donation an opt-out program rather than the current system of opting-in.nobody will have their rights taken away, hence the opt-out option. In addition, the government will save millions if not billions of dollars a year by transplanting people out of extremely expensive dialysis treatments & back into the workforce. All of this & it would drastically improve the lives of your fellow Americans suffering from ESRD (end stage renal disease) & others needing any organ to live.

  • TERM LIMITS FOR MARIN COUNTY SUPERVISORS
There are nine San Francisco Bay Area Counties. Marin County is one of if not the only county without term limits. Marin is home to the most undeveloped wild lands in the Bay Area. There are tens of thousands of acres of open space developers want. Marin supervisors are often supported by pro development groups from as far away as Los Angles. One supervisor has sat for sixteen years in a district that was specifically laid out by his predecessor to be impossible to beat an incumbent (he just won a fifth term out spending his rival by many times). The predecessor retired after 30 years and could never be dislodged from office. Marin County deserves new ideas and eight years is enough to effect change while in office. All of Marin County will benefit from this change.

  • Re-establish Pell Grants for Displaced Workers & Older Returning Students
The recent Pell Grant cuts have limited the amount of eligible semesters from 15 to 12--regardless if you received the maximum amount of grant or not. Many people that were laid off were told to return to school and get additional training. If you are in your late 20's and above, this more than likely means that you will not receive a grant--regardless of need, excellent grades, or future contribution to society once you have graduated.

  • Bring Defamation of Character charges against Michelle Bachmann
I personally take offense to all the hate-fueled talk from Michelle Bachmann. She's a bigot who doesn't care for the American people unless they are white, straight, and share her exact religious views.

  • Amend the Scranton Home Rule Charter to Require Referendum Votes for Bond Issuance
The City of Scranton and it's authorities have issued bonds with out regard for the will of the people. City residents have no leverage to oppose or approve either a bond issuance from the city or financially backing a bond issuance from one of the city's authorities yet are required to bear the financial burden as taxpayers. Citizens in other cities around the country are required to hold referendums and receive a majority "Yes" vote before bond issuance. It's time for the citizens of Scranton to have that same voice.
