Ever since the Michigan Governor appointed the Emergency Financial Manager (EFM) to the Detroit Public Schools, the teachers have been unfairly targeted. In the process of targeting the teachers, the students have suffered. The teachers have taken a huge financial hit and now the working conditions for the teachers will be greatly compromised. With the new 2012/2013 contract, severe work impositions have been added. I believe the EFM's new draconian contract will greatly compromise the health of the teachers, as well as adversely impact the students' learning environment. The EFM has refused to negotiate with the union president. We need the EFM to sit down at the table and negotiate in good faith.

33 votes have been taken by this Congress regarding healthcare reform. Despite a resolution vote by the Supreme Court, two additional votes were taken costing taxpayers millions of dollars and adding to our national debt. This is both time and money that could be better spent on rebuilding this country's infrastructure.

In the past century, laws for disclosures of political donations were made to minimize corruptions. More laws were made by both parties since the Watergate scandal. However, in the past decade, thanks to word games, these laws were abolished. As a result, excessive secret donations were made in the past year. To ensure that this coming election is not being corrupted, we need to have such donations disclosed.

Local towns are deciding on the legality of keeping hormone free, antbiotic free chickens being raised at home. This limits are choices. It would offer no alternative to the factory farm model with its hormones, anti-biotics and the toxic waste residue that degrades and pollutes our towns and fields. Regulation of home raised chickens and factory farmed chickens should equally be held accoutable for damages incurrerd.
