Not only are we putting the safety and health of our students at risk, but we are also risking the health and safety of faculty, staff, and their families. In addition, the proposed 50/50 plan will create even more disruptions and confusion among the students, primarily our middle schoolers and high schoolers. It will also place extreme amounts of stress on the faculty and staff, who have adjusted and adapted countless lessons to a virtual-only setting, as they will need to undo and redo all of the planning already done. We ask that you please consider the physical and mental health of the students and faculty of your schools, as well as that of the families involved and that you let us gather more data before sending students back. Other schools in the area are electing to send students back; please do not give in to peer pressure. Maintain a virtual status quo and see what happens in those settings before we rush into decisions that we do not know the outcome. Of all of the counties in Virginia, Prince William County is second to Fairfax in the number of cases. In addition, we would be returning in November, just when the annual flu season is set to start. CDC experts suggest that Covid-19 cases could increase in November alongside flu cases. You were very vocal and critical in 2016, when faced with the prior administration attempting to nominate a new Supreme Court Justice when the Honorable deceased Justice Scalia, needed to be replaced. Please listen to your own words. You did the right thing then, and now you have reversed your direction due to a self serving interest. When doing the right thing before, and you make an about face, It becomes the "WRONG THING". We The People want to know, why an about face for 2020? Please salvage the legacy and the dying wish of our Honorable Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Please do not let the 2020 GOP Senators be remembered in the history books as self serving and two faced. Since Justice Ginsburg's death, one of the issues that has been raised frequently has been the possibility of a legal battle surrounding the results of the 2020 election, which would need to be decided by the Supreme Court. While we like to think of the Supreme Court Justices as being objective, dispassionate arbiters of the law, the reality is that they are still human. As such, they are still subject to the same human flaws as the rest of us, including interpreting the same facts differently based on their emotions. This is not to suggest that any of the Justices would do this intentionally, just to acknowledge that, like all other humans, emotional involvement in a situation may make it harder to judge that situation objectively. With regard to the upcoming Presidential election, emotional involvement is likely to be strong for everyone, but even more so for those Justices who were appointed to their position by one of the candidates in this same election - President Trump. Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, and possibly a third Justice, have a different relationship with President Trump than do any of the other Justices. This relationship affects how they perceive the President, and how they will perceive any potential legal issues involved in the upcoming election. It is unfair to them demand that they maintain the same level of objectivity as their colleagues, and equally unfair to the rest of the country to let our future be swayed by this loss of objectivity. As such, the ethical action must be that the Trump-appointed Justices recuse themselves from any Supreme Court decision relating to this election.

The hypocrisy of Mitch McConell and his cronies in wanting to push through a nominee less than two months before an election after not allowing Obama's nominee 11 months prior to the 2016 election is outrageous and un-American.

Mitch McConnell blocked Obama's Supreme Court pick months from the 2016 election. RBG's position must not be filled before this election and McConnell must never be able to block another senate vote.

We should not have a defeated President naming a Justice for life in the last few months of his term. McConnell blocked Obama’s Garland appointment in Obama’s last YEAR.

Trump was insulted every veteran, every man and woman in military uniform, their families, their widows, their parents and their children. No nation with any sense of honor and patriotism can permit its leader to so dishonor these men and women. It is outrageous behavior.
