• End Salmon & Halibut Bycatch
It appears that deep sea trawling is the culprit in the mystery of where have the chinook salmon gone. Studies show that the increase in pollock fishing on U.S. trawlers or "draggers" that drag the bottom floor and pick up EVERYTHING, has direct correlation with chinook salmon numbers going down drastically in the whole state. As a subsistence & sport fisher person on the Anchor, Kasilof, & Kenai rivers I am directly affected by the rapid decline in chinook salmon. The Yukon & all other rivers are affected too. 1. Regain ability to fish on rivers 2. Stop all bycatch practices & replace with safer/better fishing practices 3. Have 1 unbiased "watcher" on each trawling boat to keep them honest 4. See escapment returns grow to healthy sustainable numbers 5. Improve on CDQ programs through an all species inclusive sustainability policy Go to our Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Stop-Trawling-Bycatch-of-Salmon-Halibut/407719715940319 PLEASE paste this address into your facebook page and forward to all your email addresses. • Governor Haley Must Testify Under Oath
The House Ethics Committee voted that it had found probable cause to investigate the Governor on possible ethics violations during her time as a House member. Yet before any testimony, this very committee also voted to clear her of any wrongdoing. How is it possible that they could have reached such a conclusion with no evidence or witness testimonies?

  • Let's Stay on Daylight Saving Time All the Time
Winter's depressing enough without it being dark by the time we get off work, and changing one's sleep schedule only screws up the week. Let's stay on DST forever and have evening even in the winter!

  • Save starving children from the 2012 farm bill. Don't pass the bill!
The farm bill is a bipartisan pork barrel spending spree. It provides farm subsidies redistribute wealth from taxpayers to often well-off farm businesses and landowners But the largest chunk of the farm bill in dollar terms is directed to the Supplemental Nutrition and Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as the food stamp program. • Give Us Self-Serve as an Option at Gas Stations
46 of the 48 continental states have allowed self-service to pump gas for decades now. Oregon should join them in the name of efficiency & lower prices. Self-serve gas is consistently cheaper and prevents us from wasting time waiting around for an attendant to a> notice a customer, b> realize the pump has stopped.

  • Florida Governor Scott. Leave Florida's College Educational System Alone
The governor appoints people to the Borard of Governors for Florida's state universities who are hostile to the colleges. They are trying to irrationally cut university income rather than consider value and needs of the educational system. I believe that It is the president and the faculty who know what is best for the univesity. Someimes more money not less is needed. Skimping can destroy faculty and thus the value of the education itself. Right now I believe that the cost of Florida colleges compared to others in the are country are very inexpensive and good value..

  • Fix Congress: Change the law so they live like the rest of us.
Warren Buffett has the right ideas regarding Congressional benefits and responsibilities - why should they NOT participate equally in the same laws for Social Security, health benefits, pensions, and equality under the law? Why should they be allowed to vote special and better benefits for themselves? The only reason laws can be passed quickly and deficits can be cut is because of consistent, clear public pressure. Demand that Congress change these inequalities OR BE VOTED OUT!

  • Reporting of Non-Disclosure Agreements
Gas drilling companies require lease holders to sign said agreements which force landowners to agree to silence where drilling errors are made. The penalty for breaking these agreements is a lawsuit initiated against the leaseholder by the gas company.

Congress can not change benefits that people receive but they can change benefits for those not yet receiving them. Congress only can change benefits for new recipints.
