• Enforcing Non-Custodial Parents Rights
Being a parent that has painstakingly struggled financially, health wise, and not being able to see my children as stated in Divorce Decree. Issues are that Kershaw County in SC has for 10 years not enforced my ex-husband to abide by court order to allow visitation as stated in the Decree. Being the non-custodial parent, I have had to deal with non-communication from the ex-spouse, not seeing my children as ordered, calling DSS for abuse and neglect in the home toward my children, bullying of my special needs child (I called the school to address), welfare checks by local police and no support to enforce ANY and ALL rights I have as a mother. The Court has shown absolutely NO justice regarding the children, only to put all fault towards me as a non-custodial parent.

  • Science-based legislation
In 2008, candidate Obama indicated that his administration would rely on scientific results when promoting new legislation. But this promise has been broken countless times especially regarding drug laws, which he now won't even talk about since his policies contradict known science. It's time to "go scientific"!

  • People before Profit
Let the insurance companies become aware that paying for medical services is their reason for being in business. Not making the consumer pay more for the services, while C.E.O's give themselves huge bonuses.

  • Congressional and Senate term limits!
Our representatives may start out with the best of intentions when they first get elected to the Senate or Congress and then they get caught up in the political network. It's all down hill from there. I say, serve your country for 2 terms and then you're done. No expensive retirement plan, no healthcare for life. Rotation of the reps and the ideas is the only way to keep these folks working for the people they represent.

  • Keep Religious Right Propaganda Off Alabama Public Television
Do you think public television should give free airtime to anti-gay Religious Right propaganda? Neither did two senior employees of Alabama Public Television who objected to airing a TV series produced by right-wing pseudo-historian David Barton -- a Religious Right activist who supports imprisoning gay people. But when they spoke up, they were fired by the Republican-controlled Alabama Educational Television Commission. Public television is beloved for featuring entertaining, educational content, not hatred and lies. The Republicans on the AETC purging dissenting employees think they have the support of the religious community. They need to hear that people of faith reject their partisan agenda. Tell the Alabama Educational Television Commission: Reinstate the fired staff and keep the hateful Religious Right propaganda off public television.
