Stop attacking other countries for ANY reason. Our military is for defense only. Stop the war on DRUGS; didn't we learn from alcohol prohibition? It only CREATES criminals. Stop the "war on poverty" Govt. should get out of the way and leave charity to CHARITIES.

With all the money we spent on two unnecessary wars; private contractors for the military benefiting the private industry; IT IS TIME TO HELP OUR STUDENTS BY FORGIVING STUDENT LOANS WHICH INCLUDES AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT COVERING INTEREST.

UVa President Teresa A. Sullivan is a well-respected educational leader who has fought for incremental, consensus-based change. This was not acceptable to Helen Dragas Chair of UVa' Board of Visitors who expects a deep cutting of liberal arts departments and worked for months to engineer Sullivan's dismissal. The episode points out serious defects in UVa's governing structure. We can make this right by rehiring President Sullivan and by adding alumni and faculty-elected trustees to the Board of Visitors.

The USA prison system is barbaric, racist, and unjust. The privatization of prisons make it the largest internal industry. What does this say about us? Let's no longer turn our backs on the most vulnerable population - this unmentionable shadow side of our nation.

Congress is the body that makes the laws and can override the President's veto. We need to go to the source of our problems and not look toward the President who just serves as an idea man and a fall guy. We should be concentrating more on who gets into and remains in Congress. In Obama's first term, even if he tried to deliver on what the American majority said that they wanted by their vote, the Democrats who were in control of Congress at the time did not allow it; now, the Republicans aren't either. They have said it is their main goal to make Obama a one-term President verses doing what they can to better our country! Congresses complacency may be due to their individual wealth and lack of enforcement for them to pay their taxes, so they in fact, are out of touch with our working class society. No matter what President we vote into office, as long as the same members remain in Congress with their self-serving policies, such as great Healthcare packages for their families, which when offered to us are labeled Socialist, and their finances which allow them to afford to send their kids to college and have off shore accounts. This body of legislation would not want the higher echelon to be taxed at a higher rate because at the 1.3million dollars they currently owe and have not paid, they would refuse to pay that too. They are out of touch and also as of yet untouchable!!! WE need to CHANGE them then maybe our Presidents can do what the voting majority want!

Nancy Pelosi on CSPAN: "Make no mistake, the Republicans are going after Eric Holder, because he is fighting the Republicans' voter suppression efforts!" And after AG Holder refused to turn over subpoenaed records that would have compromised the safety of border agents, Mexican officials, and others, the House Oversight committee voted along party lines to hold him in contempt of Congress. President Obama has invoked executive privilege in order to further protect those involved. Yet Speaker Boehner vows to hold a vote of the full House next week and has the power to imprison the Attorney General when it passes.

How about avoiding vacationing in stand your ground states?

Justice Thomas and Scalia have been blatent in their acceptance of Koch brothers (and others) "speaking fees" and and other forms of monetary "gifts". Justice Thomas's wife gets regular monetary contributions from these groups. The Citizens United disastrous decision is a direct response to to the influence purchasing. The problem is that this subtle form of bribery is aginst the law and needs to be investigated.

Postal reform is necessary to ensure the survival of the Postal Service. The Postal Service's mandate is to provide universal service at a universal cost. The finanical problem the Postal Service is facing at this time was caused by Congress and can only be corrected by Congress.
