"Stop the Racism in Indiana by Police Officers and State Troopers"My name is Norman and I'm African American and a senior citizen on June 2nd 2012 I was driving from Chicago, IL to Ohio to visit a sick relative. While driving thru Indiana I was pulled over by an police officer in Plymouth, Indiana. He claimed I was speeding, he asked for my credentials, drivers license, registration and insurance. I gave all documents which were current and up to date. Even though I knew I was not speeding I still remained courteous and polite. I was then informed I was going to be arrested for reckless driving. Since the other passengers in the car did not have a valid drivers license my vehicle was towed and impounded. Officer stated that if I had $250.00 dollars I could bond out within the hour, and to retreive my vehicle would be $100.00. after a lot of harrassment I then bounded out and was informed my bond would be $1,650.00 because people from out of state never come back. After paying the bond, I went to retreived my vehicle and was informed that I had to pay $300.00 to get my car, even though it was less than 2 hours later I was charged a storage fee, a gate fee and an extra $100.00 for Monday even though it was saturday at 3:45pm, because the tow/impound person stated he could be at home and we would have waited until monday anyway and he was doing us a favor. He also stated that he was surprised I was arrested because usually they let people go with a warning. I was traumatized as well my 79 year old mother who was also in the vehicle we are both senior citizens. Even though they never said the "N" word it was written all over the faces of everyone we came in contact with. We felt a lot of anger and hate. I was never read my rights and I had no warrants out for my arrest. This has got to stop, many african americans are harassed while driving thru Indiana. My court date is coming up and I'm very reluctant to return to this location. I felt like I went back in time and never expected to encounter anything like this in this current day and age.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marguerite Hunter

Re-Regulate the AirlinesFor anyone who travels either for work, vacation, or perhaps for a family emergency, the consistent gouging by the airline industry is more than disturbing. From charging $100 for a checked bag, to giving the airline attendants the ability to throw anyone off a flight for any perceived infraction. There are also the additional 'fees' tacked onto your ticket, such as charging extra if you want to sit next to your travel companion. But re-regulation isn't just for consumers; it's also for employees. When several thousand feet in the air, on top of adequate pay, it should be mandatory for domestic flights, that pilot(s) are prohibited from working excessive extended hours or that everyone in the control tower is trained and well-rested. Otherwise, it threatens the general safety of everyone. There’s also the matter of domestic carriers’ finances, particularly in relation to competition. How are the airlines carriers, often claiming bankruptcy or severe deficits, which is frequently used to weaken the few remaining employee benefits and restructure finances, are consistently provided multiple federal bail-outs? Yet they still have the unimpeded ability to gobble up other airlines, leaving consumers with even fewer choices. Given that our dismally-performing domestic carriers are being given the approval to take their methods to international carriers – such United forming a ‘partnership’ with Lufthansa, one can only assume that this dysfunctional business-model is becoming a global reality.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Simone W.

Overturn Citizens UnitedI'm concerned about the influence of big corporate money in politics and want to see a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United. My two kids will be going to public school, and I'm concerned about how tax breaks for the 1% are cutting off resources for our public schools, and that won't be solved unless we overturn Citizens United.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steven Biel

Overturn Citizens UnitedBig money has too much of an influence on our political process, and Citizens United made things much worse by allowing corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money to elect candidates. Personally, I have two kids in the public school system, and I'm concerned that because of the power of big corporations and tax breaks for the rich that our public schools are being starved of the resources they need.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steven Biel

Stop Illegal Gunfire in AtlantaEvery day, Atlanta 911 receives about 13 "shots fired" calls, but rarely do these calls lead police to a shooter. A new technology available to APD can change this: Gunfire Detection Technology (GDT) provides police accurate location and other actionable information within seconds of a gunfire event. GDT is more effective and less costly than 911 response alone. Gunfire Facts: Fact: On average, 13 "shots fired" calls a day are made to Atlanta 911. Fact: APD officers spend on average 30 minutes responding to a shots fired call. Fact: approximately 2,500 hours of police time is wasted every year trying to find the source of gunfire. Fact: It's estimated that only 20 to 30% of actual gunfire events are reported to 911. Fact: Cities that use Gunfire Detection Technology (GDT) have reduced gunfire events by up to 70 percent. How Gunfire Detection Technology (GDT) Works: Police receive a precise map of where the gunfire originated, and a recording of the gunfire event, that lets them hear exactly how many shots were fired, how many guns were involved, and which direction the shooters are moving, if they are moving. GDT may even be able to identify the caliber of weapon(s) being fired. Having this information means that police can respond to the precise event location, and with appropriate force and full knowledge of the nature of the gunfire at that location. Accurate information, faster notification and response, tighter investigations and better evidence gathering - making it safer for police and residents. http://www.youtube.com/user/shotspotter What Does It Cost? The cost of Gunfire detection technology would be between $0.5M and $1M per year, and will depend on how large an area that is covered by the technology. It is one of the cheapest and most effective crime reduction investments Atlanta can make. How Can You Help? Tell Atlanta Council members and Mayor Reed that you want Atlanta to establish a gunfire abatement program and make an investment in the deployment of gunfire detection technology.49 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matthew Dollacker

FBI Dallas Field Office Special Agent in Charge Diego Rodriguez, Please investigate Euless Police...Investigate Euless Police Officer Deana Ramsour for the actions she took to wrongfully convict our son. Ramsour, first officer to speak with our son, testified she turned off her video tape to explain why he does not appear in the video with her. Two independent experts analyzed her video and found that her tape had been edited. Both experts had previously done work for the FBI, state, and local law enforcement agencies as well as defense attorneys. Investigate to determine if public officials influenced Michael Heiskell, a highly respected and capable attorney, in his decision to withhold key evidence from the jury to support our son’s innocence. Michael Heiskell did not show the jury the jail house video available on www.justice4royjr.com. Roy does not exhibit any behaviors associated with a person who has a blood alcohol content of .11. He is remorseful, coherent, extremely sad, incredibly frightened, standing upright, etc. Investigate the blood draw -- it was redirected from the Texas Department of Public Safety by the Tarrant County Prosecutor to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office to determine whether it was “edited” to show up as .11.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Laura Adams-Jenkins
