My petition is about returning to college to further my education. So I can help provide for my daughter and prepare for her future. I am a man of strong will and my daughter means everything to me. This petition should be sign because its not about me. It really about my three year old daughter ( Mikaela Miller).

I'm a public school teacher who has taught high school history for nine years in Chicago. Because of broad public support and overwhelming unity among teachers, I'm truly hopeful that we can achieve real gains for kids and teachers through our current contract negotiation--including adequate funding for art and music, school nurses, counselors, playgrounds, and libraries. That's why I was dismayed to learn that, in the middle of this delicate but honest negotiation, the social action website Change.org is taking money to promote a campaign attacking Chicago's public school teachers by a conservative anti-union organization. In any negotiation, it's essential to have trust and good-will on both sides. This kind of tired, old teacher-bashing by ideological conservatives only makes things more difficult, and I wish Change.org would stop taking money to promote it. Ninety-eight of our Chicago schools don't have playgrounds, and 160 schools don't have libraries at all. Forty percent of our schools do not have full time art and music programs. These are some of the important issues that teachers would like to discuss at the bargaining table not just to improve working conditions for teachers but to ensure that our students receive the education they deserve. As a teacher, I'm so proud to be on the right side of this fight, but it's disheartening to find teachers once again under attack by knee-jerk teacher-bashers. In this case, the attacks are coming from the anti-labor group Stand for Children, whose former leader Jonah Edelman recently bragged on video about how he was nearly able to "dupe" politicians into ending collective bargaining rights for Chicago teachers. By taking money to promote this anti-union campaign, Change.org is turning their backs on teachers and endangering our efforts to provide a world-class education to our children. The teachers of Chicago deserve a public apology from Change.org and assurances that you won't again promote conservative groups who oppose collective bargaining rights for teachers or other unions.

I don't know a petition is the right way to go , but here it is . We need to take our elections back away fromt the money CEO'S ,and all others who think most if not all would like our vote to count for what we it to . Uur elections should not be for sell .I hope it's not to much to ask our congress for . If so it's time to vote for some new people who will give us our right to VOTE

Americans are innovative, and our research institutions are world renowned. The major breakthroughs in the fields of engineering and science often lead to new companies, sometimes new industries. In today's globalized economy, granting foreign nationals access to our research institutions is to the detriment of our economy, businesses, and societal progression. To Americans, it disincentives the pursuit of graduate work, and eventuates in the US training foreigners to be highly skilled and knowledgeable beyond most Americans. Some might say foreigners are more qualified to be doctors or masters in their field, this argument is a slap in the face of our school systems and every American. If our research and development begins to lack, our lower educational institutions are to blame, not our lack of investment in foreign nationals. If a highly qualified individual desires to benefit from involvement in our publicly funded research institutions, obtaining US citizenship and committing to contribute to our society should be an unobtrusive requirement.

Petition is to change the way student loans are granted to prevent the accumulation of debt by people for an effectively worthless education.

Please sign this petition to destroy these horrible weapons that kill indiscriminately. If a weapon can be used to kill large numbers of people with no regard to innocent bystanders. Most of us understand well enough now to never want another war. For those who don't understand...you will if we don't take this step.

I was shocked when I learned that every airline does not require children under 18 to have some sort of identification when traveling in the United States. If my child were abducted I can't believe that someone could take them on an airplane without anyone questioning them.

Governor Kasich signed Ohio HB487 declaring it no longer requires Social Workers in Long term care Facilities with less than 120 beds. It is described as loosening the regulations for Nursing Homes. Apparently we are taking a huge step backward in caring for our elderly... again placing Psychosocial needs of people behind. Now Nursing Facilities will be free to hire untrained staff to address these areas.... all in an effort to save a few dollars of profit for the for-profit healthcare industrial complex. Because we certainly know Social Workers salaries break the bank!!!!

Columbian Sq. in South Weymouth is a very busy square to try and drive thru as there are no lights, there is very poor signage where traffic converges from four directions. This problem has existed for many years. The public constantly complains, but nothing changes.

According to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, which was reauthorized as Title X, Part C, of the No Child Left Behind Act (P.L. 107–110), the term “homeless children and youths” means individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence includes: (i) children and youths who share the housing of other persons because of loss of housing, economic difficulties, or other similar reasons; those living in motels, hostels, trailer parks, or camping grounds because they lack alternative adequate accommodations; those living in temporary housing such as emergency or transitional shelters; being abandoned in hospitals; are waiting to be placed in foster care; (ii) children and youths whose primary nighttime residence is a public or private place not designed for or generally used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings [within the meaning of section 103(a)(2)(C)]; (iii) children and youths who are living in automobiles, public spaces such as parks, bus or train stations, or other type of public areas, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, or similar settings; and (iv) migratory children (as defined in section 1309 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965) who qualify as homeless because the children are living in circumstances described in above conditions (i) through (iii).
