Comcast, Unfair Billing To CustomersCable television has become a pain in the but, since the industry has labled cable as (intertainment ). My husband and I have been fighting with Comcast for about 2 years in regardes to the channels that we don't watch and still have to pay for. We believe that it is lutercrest to charge a person for service that we don't use. We are on a fixed income, but our cable bill gets higher and higher almost every month with additional fees that we don't agree with, however comcast has taken the postion that they are such a major company that they can increase their charges anytime they fill like it. I live in Gary IN, and because we live in Gary our rates are higher than any other city rates. We asking for the support of the public to help in getting Comcast regulated for fair practices in their billing and program packages. We are seniors and Comcast does'nt provide a package for seniors on a fixed income. The telephone companies did it Why not Comcast?16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Connie Blair

Truth in Government MandateLying in politics must be outlawed and prosecuted. Politicians routinely lie to the American people. They think nothing of changing their stories regularly as they destroy the foundation of our democracy. We must demand a zero tolerance law that strongly punishes lying politicians.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Roscoe Maas

NJ FOR THE OVERTURN OF CITIZENS UNITEDThe country is angry about having the people's voice so minimized. Over 80% of the voters, crossing party lines, disagree with the Supreme Court's Citizens United Decision, its corrupting influence and preferential treatment of big business and the wealthy over ordinary people. Each state MUST send a message to Congress in support of a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United. New Jersey has begun this task through the introduction of SR 47 by Sen. Van Drew, now in committee, and AR 86, also in committee, introduced by Assemblyman Conaway. It is urgent to seize the national momentum NOW, to tell our NJ legislature to pass BOTH resolutions on to Congress and thereby say unequivocally that corporations are not people and money is not speech, hence a constitutional amendment is required.6,900 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Susannah Newman

Safe Access to Polton ElementaryA gate once existed in the Dam West fence adjacent to The Shores to allow for safe walking access for members of the Shores neighborhood to Polton Elementary School. Children and families walking to the school must now walk along Parker Road or Yale Ave. We are calling on The Dam West to re-open the gate for safe walking access to the school. The Shores is willing to help with the financial costs.57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rebecca Rook

Support Chris Donovan's Minimum Wage ProposalHouse Speaker Chris Donovan's proposal to raise Connecticut's minimum wage is currently being held up by a few conservative Democrats in the Senate. The 50-cent hourly increase in pay would provide an extra $80 a month in the pockets of over 100,000 people. That's good for families and workers, and it's good for business. Chris Donovan gets it, but Joan Hartley does not. We're calling on Sen. Joan Hartley to support Speaker Donovan's proposal that would make life a little less stressful for thousands of families.214 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Carl Gibson, Working Families Organization

Stop Harbor Heights OverdevelopmentHarbor Heights in Sag Harbor Village plans to dramatically expand its gas station while side-stepping over a dozen zoning rules meant to protect the neighborhood from overdevelopment. Village boards can insist that all zoning rules are strictly followed, and therefore limit the threat of noise, traffic, and light on the residential neighborhood and historic village. We are urging all village boards to protect the rural character of our village, and apply all building size, setback, landscape, and other requirements as written in the code. Sign the petition!249 of 300 SignaturesCreated by John Shaka

Equal Pay ActThe Equal Pay Act was passed by President Obama in 2009 and yet, data has shown that women only receive 60 to 80 cents compared to every dollar males earn. This issue not only affects gender, but race, color, religion, sex (gender) or national origin. We need to mobilize people - not only women, to step up and start making a difference to stop pay inequality. We are requesting signatures to send to the entire government (U.S House, Senate and President Obama) to mobilize the enforcement of this Act which will affect many Americans in the future.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alyssa and Danitsa
