  • Congressional Reform Act of 2012
    1. Term Limits. A.One Six-year Senate term B. 3 Two-year House terms 2. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 5. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term, then go home and back to work.

  • Got Insurance? Who needs Insurance Companies?
How can we (the common we and the political we), not see that the real problem in our society and economy is the power of the insurance companies dictating to everyone, (the government, the business owner, the individual, the doctors, the hospitals) and escalating the cost of care. If we took every premium paid to insurance companies over our lifetime, we would have enough money to cover everyone to be able to have a yearly physical for prevention and cut costs. There is no indication the insurance companies want to participate in making healthcare affordable to the common citizen; No standardization of forms (to decrease the time spent reading them), no available information of what is covered, refusals, lost paperwork, etc., etc., etc., increasing costs for billing and those providing care. THIS HAS TO STOP. We need to root the parasitic insurance companies out of the core of health care and our government and our lives. End the lobbist culture and save America.

  • Runoff Election to Make New Partys Possible
Ralph Nader got Bush Elected by taking votes from the Democrats. A runoff election would have changed the result by running only the top two candidates. With a runoff we could have a real election where ideas for change at least get a hearing.

  • Decriminalize Marijuana
The U.S. spends too much time and money 'busting' 'pot-heads' and would be better served to decriminalize and tax the use of Marijuana.

  • why not a mandate for insurance
We have to have car, home insurance we have to buy a driver license and plates and pay for birith records fishing hunting marrage license. We have to pay public school fees ( art supplies book and paper supplies lunch etc). How can all these and many other government laws and mandates be constitutional? If you want to stop the new health insurance law then all of the above should be free or not required.

This petition is made to help people with somewhat of childhood criminal past become police officers. Furthermore, an arrest is one thing and conviction is another. It's very sad that government agencies are disqualify great applicants from employment based on an arrest ( not a conviction). Most of the police departments state that a conviction of a felony, domestic violence, larceny will disqualify you. However, I have learned that being arrested for something even if the case was dropped will disqualify you also even if the department does not list it. It does not matter how old you were when the arrest took place you will be disqualified from becoming a police officer. People like me need your help to change this so that way good applicants who made a changed in life can have a second chance at life. Why should life stop for those who really want to be in Law Enforcement who put forth the effort to give back to the community. Let's help bring a change to the way applicants are picked if you do meet all the qualifications.

  • Veterans Administration: Treat Our Veterans!
Thousands of our veterans aren't receiving the medical care they need after serving. Veterans are discharged every day without receiving the medical and dental care they need. Many vets are having to deal with a lifetime of unnecessary pain and suffering. We're calling on congress to rewrite the VA Charter to allow all vets access to the healthcare they were promissed. We are further calling on congress to enact legislation to not allow any serviceperson to be discharged without a full medical and psychological exam and be given continuing treatment for all injuries.

  • california referrendum change - force the legislature to do its job
The current refferndum system both makes it almost impossible for the Legislature to pass budget and legal decisions, because they are almost always either changed or superceded by popular vote, usually more controlled by lobby interests than people fear the Legislators themselves would be, or are. This leaves them free from responsibility, ignores the topic experts, and leaves them free for partsan grandstanding that only hurts the state. Reforming the referrendum system so that it is still posible for the people to change the law, but forcing and penalizing the Legislature for not doing it first, and placing severe penalties on individuals in the Legislature who fail to do their job, should give us better , less partisan, more considered, and more timely change. It should also force them to face the consequences of inaction or poor action more directly themselves, instead of just punishing the people in California. The citizens would still have the right to change laws, but it would be harder, forced to be more considered, hold the Legislators and Governor accountable for inaction, and motivate them to do their jobs instead of waiting to see whatever corporate lobby is going to get passed, making their research and representation almost obsolete, and encouraging partisan grandstanding, which could also be censured or punished by the citizens under the new system.

  • President Obama: reject "Signature" drone strikes
The U.S. government has been increasingly carrying out drone strikes in countries with which America is not at war. The Washington Post reported that the CIA had asked for authority to expand its drone strike campaign in Yemen by launching strikes even when it does not know the identities of those who could be killed. Such "signature strikes" allow the CIA to hit targets based solely on intelligence indicating patterns of "suspicious behavior." These "signature strikes" have allegedly gone on in Pakistan for years now.
