Martha McSally needs to support a fair impeachment trialThe House impeachment proceedings have unveiled abuses of power, including criminal-level charges of bribery and extortion. And even more serious, the most serious: obstructing Congress by refusing to participate or comply with the checks that protect our republic. Seventeen fact witnesses have testified to the lead-up to the extortion, executing the extortion, and covering up of extortion and provided their notes and messages. Our ally is still weakened in their position negotiating for peace, and Russia is emboldened to meddle in our elections again. As additional experts have testified before the House Judiciary Committee, it has become abundantly clear that House Republicans have no excuse for not supporting impeachment and have shown a willingness to be complicit in the continued undermining of the Constitution. It is time for ALL senators to approach the impeachment trial of Donald Trump soberly and without partiality. Senator Martha McSally no longer has any excuse. She must support a fair impeachment trial.2,111 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Erin Turley

Stop Denying Medical Care for Jailed ChildrenIn the last year, three children have died from flu-related illnesses while in immigration jails, yet Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officials refuse to offer flu vaccines to children and families. On December 9, I joined dozens of my fellow doctors and went to the Chula Vista Border Patrol Station and demanded to be let in to treat the children. We had flu vaccines, all needed equipment, our medical licenses, translators, and consent forms -- we were ready to treat the children, all at no charge to the federal government. We stood outside the gates for six hours, chanting peacefully and asking to be let in -- but the Border Patrol refused. So the next day, we went to the CBP headquarters in San Diego and demanded to be let in again. Then they arrested me, three other physicians, and two activists. I was shocked. I am a doctor. I remember what it was like to come over the border when I was a child, and I still carry the psychological trauma from it. I know -- both from my own personal experience and my experience as a doctor -- that child separation has a horrific impact on the mind and body. The flu can be treated, and it’s unconscionable that the CBP is denying children the most basic care. I took an oath, and I take that seriously. Please stand with us and demand we are let in. Help take Temptation Island off the TV screens! The producers take advantage of the people who agree to come on the television show. They mess with their lives and feelings!! There is proof that one of the producers contacted someone who was on the show and threatened them because they refused to cheat on their partner!! WHAT PRODUCER DOES THAT?! They ruined relationships and real peoples lives!! No TV show should do that. They have over 10 STORY PRODUCERS!! “A Story Producer is a term used in reality television for the person who is responsible for creating a story line via editing/producing the show's source footage. They may also be responsible for writing Host dialogue.” This show is bad for our children and their future. Nobody can learn a thing from this show! It is being run by unprofessionals!! Nobody deserves to go on this show after getting told they will be there to learn and grow! Nobody that has been on this show can agree on that! Please sign this petition!!147 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Samaha

Stop the Wichita City CouncilThe Wichita City Council wants to extend their 2 term limit to 3 terms. That's 12 years instead of 8. They want to add another term of 4 years to this. They are voting on this Tuesday, December 10th. Let them know what you think! Is this a bad thing? Do we really want the same people in control for 12 long years? Is it a good thing so they can finish up with projects they started that are long term? How will this change the way our City Council is run if we have the same Council and Mayor for 12 years? Here's the motion for Tuesday: Charter Ordinance Amending the Terms and Term Limitations of Mayor and City Council Members and Repealing Sections 8 and 9 of Charter Ordinance 226. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Place the charter ordinance on first reading (!!) and authorize all necessary signatures. STOP ORGANIZATIONS FROM CHARGING HIGH FEES ON DEBIT CARDS FOR THE POOR, LIKE USDIRECT EXPRESSPeople who use prepaid debit cards, are normally low-income consumers collecting government benefits, and should be protected from these high fees. Many are members of a protected class by Federal Statutes to include older people who are of a protected class and many who are not of such class. These people on a large scale do not clearly understand what is happening to their monies. The explanations that are associated with the charging of these outrageous fees are just not easy for many to understand. They need their monies extremely bad, to try and make ends meet. It is not easy in a world of hate where people are out to see and find joy in seeing the suffering of others. The rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Illegal housing discrimination and affordable housing hard to find, homelessness everywhere were many good people have fallen on hard times, Guardians of the mentally ill who are stripping them of their S.S.I incomes giving them 0 to low of their monies, homeless people living in tents, sleeping on bus stops, in laundromats and other forms of sufferings. Those in this group of people are suffering hard enough and do not in any way need these high fees associated with the card as mentioned above. It needs to be put and end to. Stop it, I say!21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Denise Fitzpatrick

Tell Congress: Investigate and Cut Ties to McKinseyThe New York Times has broken the news that consultants from McKinsey—a global, corporate consulting firm that holds contracts with numerous government agencies—were complicit in fueling Trump's vicious anti-immigrant agenda. Not only were they willingly paid to collaborate in the development of an inhumane and illegal set of policies, they made recommendations that even made ICE officials uncomfortable—all in the name of separating, detaining, and deporting more immigrant families. The Trump administration's immigration policies are a stain on our nation's soul. The House of Representatives, which is already investigating the family separation policy, should specifically investigate the role of McKinsey consultants; how much they were paid; what expertise they brought; what recommendations they made; and how many other federal contracts they hold. We need Congress to take measures to cut all ties to McKinsey and other consulting firms that benefit so richly at taxpayer expense. Congress must ensure it will no longer fund inhumane policy proposals to punish immigrant families. #DefundHate19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Greisa Martinez, United We Dream

Tell ICE to #FreeKelly!Kelly is a 23-year-old transgender asylum seeker who has been locked up in immigration jail for 2+ years. Kelly is suffering medical neglect and was put in solitary confinement for four months solely because of her gender identity. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has the power to release her immediately but refuses to let her go. During her early childhood, Kelly survived beatings and psychological abuse from her own family. She fled to Mexico at 12 years old seeking safety but instead became a victim of sex trafficking and labor trafficking. Kelly escaped to the U.S. when she was 17. She was briefly locked up in immigration jail and when she was released, she found a lawyer to help her apply for asylum. But, Kelly’s lawyer never told her about her appointment at the asylum office. While her asylum case was still pending, Kelly was arrested. Although she has never been convicted of any charges, ICE transferred Kelly to immigration detention immediately. Kelly is suffering tremendously, both physically and mentally. Additionally, her unnecessarily prolonged detention is exacerbating the trauma she has experienced as a domestic violence and human trafficking survivor. During her 2+ years in detention, Kelly has never been given a bond hearing. All Kelly wants is to live safely and without fear. Unfortunately, there are many more transgender individuals like Kelly who are unjustly locked up in immigration jail while they apply for asylum, and are experiencing inhumane treatment because of their gender identity. Kelly needs your help. Join us in demanding Field Office Director Corey Price and Assistant Field Office Director William M. Jepsen use their discretion to #FreeKelly. Donald Trump must testify under oathWe’ve heard from multiple witnesses in the House’s impeachment investigation into President Trump. And they’ve each given us a crucial look into the president’s troubling conduct. But there’s one key player who has yet to be questioned -- and the American people deserve to hear what he has to say: President Trump himself. Trump has told lie after lie to the public to cover up his repeated abuses of power. That’s why he must testify before Congress -- and swear under penalty of perjury that he’s telling the truth. The American people deserve to hear from Trump under oath on questions like: - When will you release the full, un-redacted transcripts from your calls with the Ukrainian president? - Is it acceptable for candidates to solicit campaign help from a foreign entity? - When will you release your tax returns, as you’ve publicly said you’ll do? Both President Nixon and President Clinton gave depositions around their impeachment inquiries. And Democrats have the power to call Trump to testify right now. He can either comply, or admit he’s not prepared to do that -- which will speak volumes. The impeachment process is meant to educate the American people, so they can be active participants in judging the facts and making a decision. But that can’t happen as long as Trump has free rein to lie to the public -- so it’s time for Congress to compel Trump’s sworn testimony and get the genuine truth, or make Trump face legal consequences if he lies. Add your name to tell Congress: make President Trump face the American people -- and give a deposition under oath.40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Devon Nir, Common Cause
