  • Citizens For Affordable Housing
I've seen families forced to move because someone has bought their property and increased rent prices that the tenant couldn't pay. I've seen so many become homeless due to a lack of affordable housing available to families. We ask that our city, state, and federal leaders act swiftly on this issue at hand. If we don't act swiftly, more families and more kids will be forced to be homeless.

  • Starbucks! Re-open the Milwaukee Midtown location!
We demand the Milwaukee Midtown Starbucks location be reopened. Starbucks management says that they closed it permanently due to robberies; however, they could have invested in security to keep it open. This was one of the best-performing locations in town and in a mixed urban area that is becoming increasingly populated with check-cashing stores and fast-food restaurants and subsequently bereft of quality places for the community to gather and patronize. MANY people in the surrounding neighborhoods are very upset and disappointed that this location has been closed. It truly is a loss to the community. Starbucks, call and do the right thing. Reopen Midtown and bring in security!

  • Ban flavored e-cigarettes in Loudoun county
Parents demand immediate action to remove FLAVORed e-cigarets. Our children are not guinea pigs. We can not let them be the first generation who will suffer lifelong diseases related to vaping. We are the only one who can help them today to protect them from child targeting marketing including chocolate milk flavors with the same amount of nicotine in one package as is in a pack of cigarettes. Loudoun county community is known for its clean air, strong middle-class families and health-oriented lifestyle. “Seven states in America have gone all-in on e-cigarette bans. Massachusetts outdid earlier vape bans in New York and Michigan by banning the sale of all vape products—not just flavored ones. States from Rhode Island to Montana to Oregon are enacting their own bans as more consider similar regulation.” Let’s join this movement.

  • Ratify the Equal Rights Amendment!
At a time when Donald Trump is rolling back protections against sex discrimination, the need for the Equal Rights Amendment is more important than ever. Thanks to recent elections, it could finally happen. For the last forty years the Equal Rights Amendment, outlawing discrimination on the basis of sex, has been stalled just short of the 38 states needed to be ratified as part of the Constitution. There's just one more state needed, and Virginia's new majority has vowed to pass the Equal Rights Amendment when they take office in early 2020. Congress just took a big step to help. The House Judiciary Committee just voted to repeal an old law that had required the ERA to be ratified by 1982. That law may not be enforceable. But Congress should repeal it anyway. Can you help add public pressure to ensure the full Congress helps finally get the ERA ratified?

  • Stop the Big Pharma giveaway in NAFTA 2.0
Congress is on the verge of cutting a terrible deal with Donald Trump to renew NAFTA — and give Big Pharma even more power to gouge you. Big Pharma rigged NAFTA 2.0 with provisions that would give them a stunning new monopoly on drugs that treat life-threatening diseases such as cancer. We all know what this means: years of even more sky-high prices for essential drugs. Americans are mobilizing to stop this terrible deal, and we don't have a lot of time. Reports from Capitol Hill are that a deal is "imminent." That's why we're asking you to speak up right now.

  • Stop the Congressional Budget "Reform" Act from Slashing Medicare and SNAP
This bill means that any future Presidential administration will be hamstrung by budget cuts that automatically target social services. It's an attempt to stop progressive legislation like the Green New Deal or Medicare for All from passing by holding people's lives hostage, and it's despicable. The bill just moved out of committee, and has the support of five DINO members of the Senate Democratic Caucus.

  • No Political Ads on Super Bowl
Having political ads, by any candidate or for any political issue, is inappropriate during the Super Bowl, a time for communities of friends and family, co-workers and neighbors, to gather to enjoy a great sporting championship (plus fun commercials and an entertaining half-time extravaganza). This is true at all times, but especially with the current divisive political climate, where even within groups of friends and family there can be starkly different political views, and where pains are often taken to avoid getting into political discussions. For the NFL to run political ads at any time, but especially now, would be nothing less than crass and insensitive. We encourage the NFL not to accept political ads during any of its games, but especially during the Super Bowl, now and going forward.

  • Donald Trump must testify under oath
We’ve heard from multiple witnesses in the House’s impeachment investigation into President Trump. And they’ve each given us a crucial look into the president’s troubling conduct. But there’s one key player who has yet to be questioned -- and the American people deserve to hear what he has to say: President Trump himself. Trump has told lie after lie to the public to cover up his repeated abuses of power. That’s why he must testify before Congress -- and swear under penalty of perjury that he’s telling the truth. The American people deserve to hear from Trump under oath on questions like: - When will you release the full, un-redacted transcripts from your calls with the Ukrainian president? - Is it acceptable for candidates to solicit campaign help from a foreign entity? - When will you release your tax returns, as you’ve publicly said you’ll do? Both President Nixon and President Clinton gave depositions around their impeachment inquiries. And Democrats have the power to call Trump to testify right now. He can either comply, or admit he’s not prepared to do that -- which will speak volumes. The impeachment process is meant to educate the American people, so they can be active participants in judging the facts and making a decision. But that can’t happen as long as Trump has free rein to lie to the public -- so it’s time for Congress to compel Trump’s sworn testimony and get the genuine truth, or make Trump face legal consequences if he lies. Add your name to tell Congress: make President Trump face the American people -- and give a deposition under oath.

  • NFL referees penalized
I believe the NFL referees should be penalized for missed calls and blowing calls on all NFL teams. They do not have the right to call games in favor of who they want to win. Then when it's all said and done, the referees will say we missed the call, it was not the right call and we messed up. Ultimately causing a team to lose who should have won. The referees should be penalized for their actions, just as players, coaches and teams do. This will continue if nothing is done about it. Teams deserve to win fairly and not unjustly. I feel that referees are doing this in effort to stop reviews from happening. They feel they are being undermined by teams by going against their decisions.  But in all fairness teams wouldn't have to do this if games were called fairly. Our teams go out every game play their hearts out just to get screwed by these referees who call the game how they want to call the game.  Why does the NFL have all these rules for the players and coaches to follow, but the referees don't have to follow them? The players and coaches get fined, penalized and suspended for their actions,  so why do the referees not have any consequences when they screw up a game for a great team? I ask that Rodger Goodell implement punishment for all referees who miss call games and let games get out of control for their pleasure.
