We cannot sufficiently “Control the Curve” and Spread of this CoronaVirus if some States & Cities Are Mandating Social Distancing & Stay at Home Policies and Others’ Not. The Country needs to be United in this as well, and not be controlled by Trumps’ Obvious Self Interests for Re-Election.

Senator Kelly Loeffler dumped millions of dollars of stock in the days and weeks after the Senate Health Committee, which she sits on, hosted a private, all-senators briefing from administration officials about the severity of the coronavirus crisis. Meanwhile, in public, she was downplaying the threat of the virus, parroting the Trump-GOP line by praising Donald Trump's lackluster efforts to contain the pandemic, and claiming that a "[strong] economy" would keep Americans safe from the coronavirus. Loeffler used information she was specifically privy to as a member of the Senate to protect her own finances, but did nothing to warn her constituents. She put her constituents—and all of us—at more risk. This is inexcusable and unforgivable. President Trump is surrounding himself with so called doctors who are telling the American people exactly what he wants them to hear, most of which is minimizing the severity of this virus. He is now putting the entire country at risk by stating that in fifteen days the virus will be cured and he wants to reopen the country. Based on the medical community, none of this is true. We need the expertise of Dr. Fauci to educate the American people so lives can be saved. If the American people listen to President Trump and his hand picked doctors, more people will die and this virus will never be contained.

Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President James Bullard is warning that the U.S. could face a 30% unemployment rate and an unprecedented 50% drop in gross domestic product because of shutdowns to contain the coronavirus. Both Republicans and Democrats agree that massive government support is needed. Congress is expected to pass an economic stimulus package worth $2 trillion, but they are split on where the money should go. Corporate bailouts or worker protections? Trump and Congressional Republicans are for corporate bailouts. They want a $500 billion slush fund that would give the president unprecedented power to bail out his favorite corporations, with no limits to how firms could use the money and no protections for their workers from layoffs. The bill earmarks $50 billion for airlines, $10 billion for airports, and $3 billion for the petroleum reserve. Trump could even direct cash to his own hotels—and won’t deny he has plans to do so. We must stop this nefarious attempt to exploit the crisis for the benefit of corporations at the expense of the American people. We must block any action in Congress that would increase inequality or make us more vulnerable to future disasters. As we act to address the current pandemic, we must prepare for additional climate-fueled crises, as the severity and frequency of storms, fires and droughts continues to ramp up. Bernie’s plan is aligned with the “5 Principles for Just COVID-19 Relief and Stimulus,” as put forward by over 300 environmental, justice, labor, and movement organizations: (1) Health is the top priority, for all people, with no exceptions; (2) Provide economic relief directly to the people; (3) Rescue workers and communities, not corporate executives; (4) Make a down payment on a regenerative economy, while preventing future crises; and, (5) Protect our democratic process while protecting each other.

In the mist of a Pandemic, it is criminal that all Americans don't have access to face masks, testing and respirators. Congress should not be debating economic stimulus packages while Americans are dying for lack of basic protection, testing and breathing devices.

Abortion care is a time-sensitive medical procedure that cannot be significantly delayed without profound consequences. As part of the continuum of pregnancy care, abortion is provided for almost one in five pregnancies in the United States. Ohioans are continuing to rely on their trusted community abortion providers during the coronavirus crisis, and Ohio’s elected officials should not stand between patients and their doctors. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, along with several other medical organizations, issued a statement calling abortion "...an essential component of comprehensive health care" and that the "...consequences of being unable to obtain an abortion profoundly impact a person’s life, health, and well-being." Tell the attorney general to stop playing political games with the reproductive health care of Ohioans.

It has exacerbated the wealth inequality in America. The national debt is spiking to $30 Trillion. We can't afford to take care of the wealthy and not take care of the people that need it.

This petition is important to encourage the president to act on his own suggestion. Especially medical prisoners need to be released so they can get the care they need to prevent coronavirus and for the medical challenges that sent them to specialized medical facilities. And to free prison resources to be used where needed.

As a group, the working class of Stockton have been financially devastated by the critical and necessary measures put in place to slow the spread of COVID-19. Though the federal or state government may eventually provide relief, the immediate conservation of our limited financial resources is necessary for our own and our family's health and well-being. Rentors, Leasors, banks and other relevant institutions can, as a class, seek their own relief; the state and federal government is much more responsive and historically more likely to act on their behalf. We must protect our limited cash flow immediately. What happens in May when I owe 2 months rent? Or June when I owe 3? I won't be evicted now because they don't want me on the streets but will they evict me then? The rent needs to be forgiven while I CANT WORK. What happens when the businesses who can't reopen fail and millions are looking for work? Rent and Mortgage moratorium (no rent or mortgage collection), forgiveness (you will never owe it), deferment (interest or payments are frozen and moved forward) are absolutely necessary to our current health and well being, and our economic future.

We call on you, Chairman Currie, to direct county chairs to proceed with all scheduled elections for County Committee. We reject any arbitrary attempts to extend County Committee terms, as it is unnecessary and unacceptable.
