  • Hey, MoveOn! We Want a National March Against Trump NOW!
I'm starting this petition because I believe that a national march can force US senators to consider the Will of the People when voting at the trial to remove President Trump from office. In addition, I'm starting this petition now because of the urgency of the moment. The time is NOW.

  • Funding to Sodexo's Mānoa Dining Services for reusable container system at UH Mānoa
According to a 2017 campus waste audit, 740 pounds of waste were sourced from the Queen Liliʻuokalani Center for Student Services, Architecture, and Business Administration buildings alone. By volume, take-out containers were one-third (34%) of that waste, nearly 250 gallons! Of all take-out food and drink containers, 32% were plastic food containers alone. To combat the growing waste consumption, particularly in plastic take-out containers, we are calling for the funding for an OZZI system and reusable food containers. This system allows for the reduction of landfill waste, saves waste hauling costs, eliminates paper and foam containers, and cuts down on staff interaction. “OZZI is at the forefront of sustainability with a patented, comprehensive food collection system for replacing disposables. It creates accountability and making a collective difference to the sustainable accumulation of waste developing around the world.” For more information, visit the website: https://www.planetozzi.com/solutions#ozzisys. In an ASUH Sustainability Survey, approximately 97% of students who responded believed that UH should prioritize and support sustainability on campus. Sign the petition to show your support for a reusable container system on the campus!

  • Home Rule Control for Aquaculture Licensing
The Shellfishermen of Wellfleet and throughout Massachusetts have been organizing since January 2019 in opposition to legislation that would lead to privatization and consolidation of Wellfleet's Historical Shellfish Grants. The commoditization of Wellfleet's flats would have detrimental impacts on our small farmers and wild fishermen who consist of small family farms and businesses. We stand with shellfishermen and private citizens throughout Massachusetts who oppose any such legislation that leads to the privatization of public resources and the loss of Home Rule.

  • Leaders of G7: Decline to Stay at Trump Doral
A few months ago, Donald Trump announced that he would like to hold next year's G7 summit at his Trump National Doral Resort in Miami. On 10/18/19, his acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney confirmed that the plan is moving forward. Holding the event there would funnel millions of dollars into Donald Trump's pocket, since the resort would be filled with diplomats, staff, security, and many others. Our Constitution and basic decency require that the president not profit personally from his position, and especially that he not take payments from foreign governments. Trump is obviously not much moved by the law or basic decency, so we call on the other leaders of the G7 countries to insist that the US Constitution be respected and that the summit be held elsewhere.

  • Say NO to the Blackwell Dog Run Plan
A plan for a dog run next to the playground at the north end of Blackwell park is being pushed through without feedback from the community. Many parents are concerned that children actively playing around dogs poses a serious safety hazard. Furthermore, many children have dog phobias and their emotional, as well as physical safety, should count for something.
