If a girl walks in with a crop top showing an inch of her midriff that she worked hard to provide for herself it is NOT an administrator place to call her parents and send her home. In all reality no one cares what a student is wearing. We are not wearing it to provoke anyone in any way. Sending home a child because of their clothes is an issue especially when counting them absent and provoking truancy.

On February 11, 2020, Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Mark Warner (D-VA) each attempted to introduce a separate election security bill through a 'request for unanimous consent' of the full Senate. The bills included the SAFE Act and two bills that would require campaigns to report offers of foreign assistance, including donations or coordination, to the FEC and the FBI. If a foreign government offers to interfere to help a campaign, Senator Warner chided, "the appropriate response is not to say thank you. The appropriate response is to call the FBI." Senator Blumenthal warned that after the Senate Republicans' acquittal of Trump, "There is no doubt that he will only be emboldened in his efforts to illegally enlist foreign governments in his re-election campaign." Under the 'request for unanimous consent' rules, only one senator need object. In this instance a Republican senator from Tennessee objected three times and quickly halted consideration of all three bills. In their defense, Republicans might say the Senate has already passed election security measures, which is true. $380 million was appropriated by Congress in 2018 to states for election security and another $425 million appropriated in the 2020 budget. (The House appropriated $600 million this year., but as talked about above the Senate won't pass it.) But Wyden counters, "Any bill that gives hundreds of millions of dollars to states without requiring that states use paper ballots, conduct audits, and follow basic cybersecurity standards, is a nonstarter . . ." Wyden continues, “America is 266 days away from the 2020 election, and Majority Leader McConnell has yet to take any concrete steps to protect our federal elections from hacking or foreign interference." He adds that refusing to take even the simple step included in one of the bills that would ban states from connecting their voting machines to the internet is like "stashing our ballots in the Kremlin." It's time American voters demand the SAFE Act be passed as soon as possible. Demand that adequately funded comprehensive election protections be in place and well functioning in time for this year’s election. With persistence and focused participation, perhaps we can – together – make this issue a public priority, a media priority and even -- perhaps grudgingly -- a Senate priority! Fox News, because of the stupidity of the cable model, where consumers pay for channels they never watch, profits from the people they denigrate on a daily basis. If cable providers are faced with losing hundreds of thousands of subs, maybe they will move Fox News to a tier where only the people who want to receive the service will pay for it. That will significantly hurt how much money they make from subscription and from advertisers.

Attorney General William Barr has falsely presented the findings of the Mueller Report to the American public, Mr. Barr has traveled to various other countries acting as an emissary for Donald Trump, President of the United States, and he has become involved in decreasing Federal sentencing guidelines for Roger Stone. We believe Mr. Barr is acting on behalf of the personal interests of President Trump and against the interests of the citizens of the United States who in this instance is his client.

Trump is running victory laps. He is ranting that the Senate acquittal vote proves that the impeachment business was phony, a persecution by his enemies. He is firing officials who testified against him, and deriding the Democratic leadership. In contrast, Clinton, who was impeached for lying to Congress about a sexual relationship with an intern, expressed shame and remorse. Trump must be made to understand that he did something wrong and can be held accountable, not just by Democrats but also by members of his own party. Whereas a vote to convict takes 67 senators, it only takes 51 senators to pass a resolution to censure. More than 4 GOP senators have said his behavior vis-a-vis the Ukrainian fund was (and continues to be) unacceptable. Recently, 8 GOP senators voted for the Iran War Powers Resolution, which says that Trump must have Congressional approval to start a war with Iran. Manchin’s Censure Resolution was introduced just before the final vote on Trump’s guilt, and was tabled at that time. The Senate may well be ready to pick it up again, in the light of his recent actions. Censure is a moral statement on immoral behavior. While this president and his supporters stonewalled the Impeachment trial and made it a farce, this is an historical footnote on that behavior that will follow him to his grave and into history. He should not get off with an acquittal; this will say why and how he did it in the most shameful way conceivable and condemn him for it.

That screens out more than 20% of all Americans who have a criminal record. We say we give second chances to those who have worked very hard to overcome their past but have we really? When people make mistakes, they should make amends. But once they have, they should be treated no differently than anyone else. But too often individuals with convictions in their past are discriminated against when it comes to hiring. If employers must ask about convictions, they can ask later in the hiring process. As the call to “ban the box” spreads across the country, it has become a powerful movement for fair hiring. According to the National Employment Law Project, “Roughly 70 million people in the United States have some sort of criminal record, and nearly 700,000 people return to our communities from incarceration each year. Supporting the employment opportunities of people with records creates safe communities, reduces childhood poverty, and strengthens families.” Please support those who are trying to put their past behind them and look to a brighter future where they can and will contribute to society in a positive, productive, forward thinking community. States, and Countries tax the legal marijuana to support there needed, while using less Government funding. Let's not forget that marijuana was legal in the United States until 1937 before it became illegal and it was used as medicine to cure nearly everything. And let's not forget that certain people made marijuana illegal due to the fact that minorities were starting to use marijuana to heal themselves and it wasn't just used by the high-class anymore, which is why it became illegal.
