Defending a corrupt President and protecting his interests in the face of overwhelming evidence against him is a supreme dereliction of duty for any Senator or Congressman who puts their fealty to Donald Trump above their sworn duty to the Constitution of the United States of America. My hope is that a public reaffirmation of our elected representatives' sworn duties to the Constitution will remind not only all of them, but their constituents too, where their loyalties should lie.

It’s important because it about our children’s self esteem. Having equal amount of minor to major players and not just all majors against minor for both GPLA as well as co-Ed basketball teams. The kids should leave the basketball games feeling confident not unhappy and depressed with their dreams crushed by the winning team. A game with point of 15/52 isn’t called a game ! The hypocrisy of a group of men who wanted to lock Hillary up for using a private email server compromising national security to defend a lawless president is insufferable. It's time for decent people to take a stand against such shameless disregard for the legal process and take our country back from far-right radicals holding our democracy hostage. These lawmakers must be held accountable for breaking House rules and violating national security protocol. Nobody is above the law!

U.S. democracy is under assault by the self-serving and dangerously distorted "free speech" policies of social media, Facebook in particular. If Zuckerberg is not stopped, specifically by a mass exodus of users of his platform, all future elections could be tainted and their results will be in doubt.

Buzzfeed is reporting that Google hired Miles Taylor, a top political champion of Trump’s racist Muslim Ban and a key player in the caging of children at the southern border. Google’s idea of a good position for this former Trump ally from the Department of Homeland Security—”Head of National Security Policy.”1 This couldn’t have happened at a worse time for Google—Taylor’s former co-workers are facing massive blow-back for their anti-immigrant careers and the shameful attempts to redeem themselves. Google is trying to pretend like everything is fine, but with your help, we can make sure Miles Taylor’s bigoted resume doesn’t go unnoticed. Together, let’s make this as easy as possible for the tech-giant with one massive public outcry: #HeyGoogle: Fire Miles Taylor. #NoSoftLanding and no casual comebacks Trump Administration monsters. It gets worse the closer you look. Miles Taylor’s exact position in the Trump White House? He was Chief of Staff to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen—the cabinet official who oversaw the execution of the Muslim Ban, filled concentration camps with children, and separated countless families. More than that, he often acted as a spokesman for Trump’s Muslim Ban, speaking on its behalf to outlets ranging from NPR to the New York Times.2 Back when the Muslim Ban was being put into place, Google appeared to take a clear stand against the racist ban. CEO, Sundar Pichai, tweeted “Google is with you” to the people affected by the Muslim Ban3, and Google cofounder Sergey Brin attended one of the airport protests that erupted that week.4 By giving a cushy lobbying gig to one of the Trump administration’s go-to advocates of the Muslim Ban Google has made it exceedingly clear that they are not with people affected by the Muslim Ban, or the tens of thousands who have taken action against it. It’s time to tell Google: Fire Miles Taylor and make it clear you don’t hire people whose job it was to implement policies that brought immense fear and chaos to Muslim and immigrant communities. That’s the bad news. Here’s the good news: the deck is stacked in our favor and we can win this. We’re already seeing massive outrage online. Google workers, immigrant community advocates, and Google consumers are not having it. Given that the company has refused to comment thus far, they know it looks bad. Taylor’s old boss is facing massive national scorn and is at the center of an ongoing #NoSoftLanding campaign, led by a collection of groups including our friends at CREDO, to boycott the Fortune Magazine Most Powerful Women Summit for including her as a speaker—attendees ranging from dream hampton to Brandi Carlile to Hillary Clinton have decided to opt out of the event already.5 Google knows there’s no statement they can make this better—it seems they’re just hoping for the story to be swept under the rug with the rest of the terrible news. OK Bags Away is a committee formed within the Red Earth Group, Sierra Club. Our goal is to work together to reduce, and hopefully ban, single-use plastic bags in Oklahoma as they pose numerous threats to our health and our environment, and there are plenty of alternatives. Unfortunately, Oklahoma legislature passed a bill to prohibit towns from banning single-use plastic locally. This bill does not say that we cannot voluntarily ban plastic in our state. Therefore, we have decided to commit to asking regional businesses to stop using single-use plastic bags, and we are beginning with Homeland. Many stores have already phased out single-use plastic bags, so we know this is attainable. By signing this petition, you are asking Homeland to eliminate single-use plastic bags in their grocery stores.

This petition is designed to bring justice to Delicia Carmichael, a young woman who has survived extensive sexual abuse and sex trafficking. Delicia is serving an extreme 20-year sentence for offenses that were a direct result of her having been sex-trafficked, and in which no one was physically harmed. Last June, Texas Governor Abbot vetoed a bill that would have helped survivors like Delicia receive a commutation, or sentence reduction. Please sign this petition to tell Governor Abbot to immediately release Delicia to a halfway house where she can receive the treatment and care she needs, and where she can learn the skills to be an independent and valued member of society. Delicia deserves empathy, support, and a second chance - not further suffering and punishment. Delicia's background is riddled with sexual abuse, trafficking, neglect, and abandonment, first by her family, and then by numerous State institutions. When Delicia was 5, the Department of Family Protective Services (DFPS) discovered her living out of a car in the custody of her grandfather, who was sexually abusing her. In and out of foster homes, she wound up on the street, where her mother, who had lost parental rights, introduced her to an adult male who began to traffic her and engage her in other criminal activities. Just after she turned 15, Delicia participated in the incident that resulted in her arrest and prosecution. Her trafficker received a lighter sentence for the same incident. Delicia's history of trauma related to sexual abuse and sex trafficking was never investigated, discovered, or considered in her criminal case. Indeed, despite the fact that the State has long been responsible for her well-being, her exploitation was never fully discovered, and she has never received appropriate treatment. That failure is ongoing: Delicia is not receiving appropriate care for her past traumas in prison now, and if she serves her sentence in full, she will spend another 17 years in this arrested condition. Texas must do better. Delicia is a strong and intelligent person who deserves a chance to experience independence, safety, and joy in free society. It may be too late for the State to protect Delicia from sexual exploitation, but it can finally recognize Delicia’s history, shield her from further harm, and enable her to heal and thrive in adulthood. Please sign this petition to tell Governor Abbot to commute Delicia's sentence and provide for her immediate release to an appropriate halfway house.
