• Meals On Wheels and SNAP
There are too many senior citizens and disabled citizens who cannot get out to buy food, let alone have anything delivered. Disabled and seniors living in rural areas, as well as cities, have been hit particularly hard by this outbreak. They need help. Too many disabled citizens are fighting this alone, and they, along with seniors, are going without even the basic necessities. I am hearing from friends within the disabled community that there is little to no support for them through this. They need help now, not weeks from now, but immediate, tangible help and support. As we fight this together, it is incumbent upon us to ensure that no members of our communities are left behind.

  • Stop EPA pollution rollbacks
Increase in air pollution would lead to more deaths from COVID-19. The current administration should not use this crisis to make any changes to current legislation while the American public is limited in their ability to be informed about or respond to the proposed changes to current legislation. These are NOT changes that have anything to do with our current pandemic crisis, and any discussion of potential changes should be postponed for the health of all U.S. citizens at risk in the current crisis.

  • Bring Brenna Back
Northland Health Center terminated a reputable health care provider with zero regard to our community as well as surrounding communities during a national pandemic. Brenna is an amazing provider who has shown time and time again that she loves her job, works diligently for every patient, and loves her community. We want Brenna back!

  • Don’t Silence Voters: Let Everyone Vote from Home
We need to be able to make voting easier and more secure, especially during this public health crisis. The long lines that have plagued recent elections, as well as the touch screens and crowded polling places, are now dangerous. We cannot let the pandemic shrink voter turnout. In addition, voting by mail provides a paper trail at a time when election security is increasingly at risk. While several states have already expanded their vote-by-mail options, we would like to see every state — and the federal government — pass vote-by-mail legislation so that all citizens, no matter where they live, can safely vote in November of this year.

  • Our Healthcare Workers are being Traumatized
First Responders, Physicians, Nurses and all support staff are being exposed to psychological trauma as they respond to patients with Covid-19. Every day they face multiple traumatizing experiences: inadequate medical supplies making it impossible to render the care they were trained to deliver, personal physical danger, relentless hours, separation from their families and in some cases having to make desperate moral choices about which patient receives treatment. They have not been prepared for this onslaught, level of exhaustion and depletion. The authorities have not seen fit to provide training on handling extreme stress nor have the authorities seen fit to offer stress debriefing which has been shown to lessen the damaging effects of trauma. Our first responders and healthcare workers are suffering psychological and moral wounding as they try to save us. Past studies after SARS demonstrate that a significant percentage of them will develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result. This will likely be debilitating for many of them, their families and will impact our entire healthcare system. We can do better. We can back up the people who are putting their well-being on the line for us by demanding they be provided with well researched on-site training and support. Tell Alex Azar to stop taking advantage of our sisters and brothers who are trying to take care of the desperately ill. Tell Alex Azar to use his authority to demand they be supported and cared for right now.

  • DO NOT BAN TELEWORK AT THE VA.
If you do not allow telework, Veterans, staff, and their families will be negatively impacted. Other VA's have implemented telework and California is a clear demonstration of how this will back fire. You already have the evidence of this.

  • Connecticut petition for universal vote-by-mail program for the June 2, 2020 Primary Election
I am the Reverend Dr. Daniel Schlorff, advocate for voters' rights and ballot access activist for over 20 years. While I have agreed to run for CT State Representative (HD90, Wallingford and Cheshire), I'm also concerned that the voters of my district as well as voters all across the state will have to choose between risking sickness during this pandemic vs. not being able to exercise their voice in this year's election cycle. Several states have already successfully enacted a vote-by-mail program, including Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, California, and Hawaii -- and these states are seeing a higher voter turnout as a result. That's why I'm asking you and all voters of Connecticut to help me tell Governor Lamont and Secretary Merrill that the voters of Connecticut want an executive order and enactment of a universal vote-by-mail program instead of the in-person Primary Election scheduled for June 2, 2020. Furthermore, should either the State or Federal governments not issue an all-clear in advance of the General Election on November 3, 2020 , we will once again urge them to enact the universal vote-by-mail program, to continue until all voters are safe to leave their homes and enter the voting booths without extreme risk. Sending this petition is the only way to send a message that is loud and clear, that we want to prevent voter disenfranchisement this election year while also keeping Connecticut voters safe from others and others from them. Thank you for signing this petition!

  • Request DOJ to File Suit Against Governors Who Have Not Issued Stay at Home Order
Our country leads the Pandemic by more than twice the numbers of any other country. The DOJ and the Attorney General are meant to support and defend the citizens and the safety of our country. This is not being done. We need every agency possible to do its part to save our country. People are dying and when it is a person that you know it takes on a whole different meaning. Please act federally to protect the citizens. This cannot be done on a State by State basis. And it cannot be done by a city by city basis. People do not even know when they are passing it on, as no symptoms are present for the first four days. If we are a United States lets act like it.

  • Keep OUR President on air
There are many people signing a petition to silence our president. In the beginning of this outbreak our President tried closing our borders. These same people called him racist. The democrats are trying to push their agendas on us. They are holding americans hostage with their pork filled urgent stimulus bills. They are black mailing the president (ultimately all Americans). They want to record everything and edit and twist what they want too. They cry that he isn't doing anything. What ever he says or does it is wrong. This is not a democrat or republican issue. The antics of the democrats are a disgrace to this country.

  • Forgive student loan debt for doctors, nurses, and health professionals
Health professionals carry crushing loads of student debt, from tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Now they are like soldiers in war, saving lives while risking their own and protecting the rest of us, and many have already died while doing their duty. Without the debt burden more would work in lower-paying specialties like family practice, or in underserved rural and urban areas. Society would benefit both in health and economically for many years to come, just as America benefited from the GI Bill.
