• AT&T Parking Compensation for Call Center Employees
As AT&T shifts the structure of the company. Many of its employees are forced to relocate their work location to sites that requires them to pay for parking. Therefore, reducing their income significantly. AT&T employees work hard to deliver best in class service to customers allowing AT&T the continuation of record profits. The employees should not be forced to lose compensation based on the company decisions to relocate their call centers.

  • Protect Apache holy site from Resolution Copper
My name is Wendsler Nosie Sr. I'm the former chairman of the San Carlos Apache Tribe and a member of Apache-Stronghold. Five years ago, powerful politicians knelt at the altar of greed and arranged permits for Resolution Copper, a multinational corporation, to drill and extract copper beneath sacred holy lands of the Apache. For thousands of years, Apaches have come to Oak Flats to pray. Today, we face the possibility that our holy ground will become a giant crater. We condemn the immoral, racist, and unconstitutional seizure and sale of Oak Flat. Oak Flat is one of the most holy places in the Apache religious tradition, likened to how Christians and Jews regard Mt. Sinai. Resolution Copper's plan would create a crater below Oak Flat two miles wide and 1,000 feet deep. The U.S. Forest Service has moved forward with an environmental impact statement and has refused to consider the Apaches' religious freedom claim, which would stop this destructive mining project. They have declared war on our religion. And a threat to the practice of any religious tradition in the United States is a threat to U.S. Constitution and the religious liberty of all people of faith. The forces that seek to exploit Apache holy land for profit are the same forces that pass racist voter suppression laws, militarize our borders, deny health care to millions, poison our water, and pretend to promote a "pro-life" agenda. This is why we call for a moral revolution of values with the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. We denounce this sinful and unconstitutional seizure and sale of Oak Flat.

  • Dog Grooming Regulation and Required Education
The lack of education and all around requirements and expectations of this industry has allowed for animal abuse, neglect, and unnecessary harm, even ptsd of pets to take place for over 50 years and it truly disgusts me. I work in this industry with very high standards and anyone who has ever worked at these places, and they are everywhere, has horror stories that would bring tears to the eye of anyone who has a heart and love of animals or a pet that they know has suffered in the hands of a careless, uneducated, greedy, inpatient groomer who lacks empathy or common sense of any kind. From putting dogs at risk of heatstroke, hypothermia, skin infections, paralysis, ear infections, infected toe nails, tracheal damage, exposure to toxic chemicals, mold, contagious diseases, broken bones and many other common occurrences. I know of a place, locally that not only have had multiple pets die in their care, that also illegally, internally uses the same gloves for every dog to express glands, or a place that uses the same tooth brush on every dog. How many of them do not change the disgusting mop water, the germ infested mop head (that many use to clean up pet ness with cleaning it prior to using the mop-which simply spreads it across the room) clean cages, clean the tub throughout the day, properly dilute the products, clean their tools between dogs, And so many other things that would be an acceptable in any other line of work such as a hair salon or a veterinary clinic. Then ofcourse the groomers who smack dogs, like my first boss in this industry. I witnessed her smacking dogs multiple times because they would not hold still. I was appalled by this and was a major part of why I wanted to create a place where dogs would be treated with respect and cared for as their owners would want and expect them to be. Often dogs are smacked in the face with brushes or combs, mats are literally ripped from their faces with a comb rather than using the tools designed to safely and comfortably remove these mats. I am disgusted every time I hear a new grooming horror story told to me by someone who had witnessed it first hand. It HAS TO STOP BEFORE IT GETS ANY WORSE!! There is no reason whatsoever why the Board of Health can’t go one of these places and just take a look around. Keep groomers on their toes, knowing that anytime the state can come in and shut them down. I also believe that camera should be installed in salons because of the abuse in a low standards in this industry. I have very high standards in my salon and I believe that standards should be mandatory across the board! Another thing I’d like to bring to the attention of the state is the fact that groomers in this state need to pay taxes just like everyone else. When you know someone is making $500 a day, getting health benefits from the state at low-cost, has a brand new car custom-made for them and has a house is paid off. Meanwhile, they pocket their cash (they don’t take credit cards) pay their employees cash, therefore those employees are not getting Social Security, they are not getting benefits nor are they getting into any type of retirement plan or anything that’s going to protect or assist them in the future as their overworked, underpaid bodies break down and their lungs fill with hair, they too will need healthcare and money set aside for them as they age. These employees and employers also need to be educated enough to be able to provide a safe, clean, caring environment for these dogs to be pampered in rather than tortured in. Not overbooking groomers that are forced to skip meals and breaks making it stressful for not only the dogs that are cooped up in cages for up to 12 hours , panicking, soiling, shivering and scared to death in places, but the overworked, burnt out employees as well. Please help me shine light on the subject that is very dear to my heart. My dogs are my family and the thought of them having to endure such an experience, sickens me. I have rehabbed many dogs who have been traumatized in the hands of the local groomers who have been grooming for over 15 years. Those groomers were taught to be the ALPHA and to make dogs do what they want them to do at all costs. Not all dogs are the same and not all dogs respond well to force. I respect and compromise with every dog I work with and there needs to be a respect when working with animals. I love when my dogs gladly come into my shop, without hesitation and trust me entirely. That means more to me than how much money I made that day. The well-being of these animals is being overlooked and it is time this subject be taken seriously. There will be some people unhappy with this movement, those people need to find a new job or a better way of doing the job they do. It sickens me to see the aftermath of mistreatment and to hear story upon story of ignorance and cruelty. A spa day should be an enjoyable experience, not a frightening health, physical or emotional abuse risk!

  • End Gun Violence by Enacting Common Sense Laws
We live in the richest, most powerful country on the planet, but for years I have been going to bed hungry. My hunger was not for food, but another basic need, similarly essential for my life and well being. My hunger was for the shooting to stop. America has had more mass shootings than there have been days this year. That means, more likely than not, before you sit down to dinner with your family tonight another mass shooting will occur. And as I send my students to the cafeteria for lunch tomorrow, another one. More innocent, unsuspecting lives lost, for nothing. Or more accurately, because the Republican-led Senate has chosen to ignore their constituents’ basic human need for safety. The failure of our Federal government to fulfill its duty to its citizens led me to compound my hunger. That is why I began this hunger strike. One hundred people die every day in America because of gun violence, and my love for those 100 people that are going to die tomorrow, outweighs my desire for a burger today. Originally my focus was on mass shootings. They are so random and get so much media coverage the result can only be terror. But truth be told, as horrific as they are, mass shootings are only a small fraction of the gun violence that is plaguing our nation. Suicides, homicides, domestic violence, accidental shootings are all largely preventable with Common Sense gun legislation. Any good faith movement by the Federal Government on gun violence prevention bills passed by the House and waiting on a vote from the Senate, would be reason to celebrate. And in my case have a taco. But for now, I am following this path. My name is Shai Stephenson and I am Hungry4Change. Are you?

  • Miss World America 2019 - Remove Director
This official petition is requesting that Michael Blakey, National Director, Katya Shalayeva, EXecutive Vice President, and Robert Gandara, Chief Operating Officer for Miss World America, an official Preliminary to Miss World, be removed immediately as National Director and Team. Mr. Blakey and his team have taken advantage of young women in a number of ways. To date, he (nor his staff) can provide an adequate explanation of the scoring process, despite numerous requests. He defrauded all of the contestants by requiring them to purchase a “sponsored custom designed” dress by designer Pol’ Atteu. These dresses were actually purchased from a discount dress website for $39 (teen dress) and $69 (miss dress) and the labels were replaced and sold to all contestants as "custom pieces." Blakey has allowed inappropriate comments of a degrading sexual nature such as "porking contestants" and "throwing them in the pool" to be said about the contestants and women in general on his social media. His only response is a "like" or "stay tuned". Judges were a collection of individuals with varying degrees of criminal charges ranging from fraud, misrepresentation, and drug charges. These individuals were allowed access to contestants on a one-on-one environment during an interview competition. Interview was judged by one individual vs a panel with no ability to provide an unbiased and fair scoring for the event. The values of Miss World are to empower women and to provide them with a platform for personal growth and success, and community involvement. Michael Blakey, Katya Shalayeva, and Robert Gandara do not support nor believe in the Miss World or Miss World America Organizations as their actions are in direct contradiction to core values set in place by Miss World.

  • GOP Senators: Don’t take Trump’s dirty money
President Trump wouldn’t be in power without voter suppression and the broken Electoral College. And time after time, he’s openly abused that power for his own private and political gain. Now, he’s throwing millions of dollars around to blackmail lawmakers and save his own skin. As the House’s impeachment inquiry into the president gains momentum, Trump is resorting to dirty schemes to curry favor with GOP senators -- who’ll serve as jurors in his impeachment trial. He’s tapping his vast fundraising network and urging his wealthiest donors to give money only to those senators who oppose impeachment. Trump is once again abusing his power to send a message: senators who ignore the rule of law and blindly support him will be rewarded -- while those who take seriously their constitutional duty to remain impartial will be punished. AND... because the Supreme Court has declared open season on campaign finance, there is NO LIMIT to how much money the president’s wealthiest donors can contribute at Trump’s direction to the senators who do his bidding -- and the PACs that support them. It’s extremely corrupt -- but probably legal. The only way to stop this is if Republican senators put their country before their party and reject this blatant conflict of interest. That’s we’re calling on every senator -- who will likely soon sit in judgment of the president in the constitutional impeachment process -- to publicly pledge to reject fundraising help from Trump until that process concludes. Add your name to tell them: don’t take President Trump’s dirty money.

  • Chyna Tameka Briscoe-Gray vs Unregistered Sex Offenders
Unfortunately I come from a long line of family members being sexually abused and the abuse being swept under the rug while the abuser is allowed to roam the streets free. Because of the negligence of both my parents my sisters future is in jeopardy. All of my siblings and I have been sexually abused and/or exposed by different individuals and neither of our parents have made the adequate decisions to properly protect us. The objective of this petition is to pass legislation that any person that has been complicit in any minors sexual abuse should be held at the same level of accountability as the actual perpetrator of the abuse.
