Vote yes for discounted tickets for college students to ride to and from school on B.A.R.T. College students are a part of the community that deserves it, they are the core of the community, and our future. Don't kick students while their down and make them pay high tuition and book fees and now full price transportation. They are already in debt. Students don't have money because they don't have a job yet. That is why they are still in school, they are trying to better themselves by going to college. They are doing the right thing, they are staying out of trouble and hopefully give back to the community after they graduate. Possibly buy a discount fare to clipper card at the colleges themselves to verify school status. Lets all work together.

Cities of Albany and El Cerrito do not have school zones in their municipal codes, so there is currently a huge lack of funding, safety and attention to the schools and their community... School zones are here to ensure the safety of our kids while walking or biking to and from school. School Zones help build a healthier community by encouraging families to bike or walk safely to and from school using suggested "Safe Routes To School" using Crossing Guards and "Complete Sidewalks" During School hours speed limit 15 MPH because we are trying to make it safer, any speed faster would be too fast to slow or stop resulting in running over your kid. Speed bumps on School streets. Double fine in school zones helps raise $ for the city and makes it safer for our kids crossing the street, cost mutual solution. High visibility school signs are a very efficient way to spend money. School zones will be funded by the state as soon as School Zones" are put in the city "municipal code book" school zones will create jobs by funding the hiring of many "crossing guards" and hundreds of thousands of dollars for high visible signs. School zones also makes guns drugs and tobacco illegal on school property oup to 1000 feet away. all this is here to protect our kids & our future, safer routes to school, slower traffic around schools, allows proper street signs for school to be put in place, for high visibility crosswalks and bike lanes. I wrote a letter to Jerry Brown last year and he wrote back and said there is money waiting for the city if they add the school zone in their code book, and this is probably something that was just overlooked not realizing they don't exist in the code book. the city hall told me they don't have money to put up signs or to hire additional crossing guards, I shared with them that if they add them the state will fund all of that.. the city is missing out and also new this year the "Pedestrian Safety Act California" came out and I am probably the most excited person on the planet right now. soon it will be safer for all pedestrians to feel safe crossing the street, because not one crosswalk is any more important than another! It also creates a better local economy if more people feel safer to walk around the city to eat or shop, which in turn creates a healthier, and greener community by walking or biking instead of driving. I am a male with no kids in the school system, so I am not a powerful voice at the city hall, need all your help to make this possible.

Update the Individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA) as it pertains to Autism spectrum disorder today.

Due to recent financial cuts, the university has decided to cut courses immediately, starting this SUMMER. The university has cut all graduate level courses with enrollments of less than eleven students, last summer. A similar decision has been made for undergraduate level courses with enrollments of less than twenty-four students. Some of these courses are apart of critical shortage areas within education. Some are only offered one semester a year. Cutting these classes will prevent many students from graduating on time or at all. We are simply asking the university to reconsider their decision and implement cuts only after listening to suggestions from department leaders and identifying each departments specific needs. Saved from closure for good cause by Emergency Financial Manager, Robert Bobb, DDSD is now slated for closure by new EFM, Roy Roberts. His plan calls for removing the deaf and hard of hearing students from the school built with federal, state and local funds specifically to provide full ADA accommodations and enhanced learning environment to meet their unique language and communication needs, so the building can be "repurposed" as administrators see fit. Students will be scattered to other schools that cannot provide such an environment or the critical mass of same language peers recommended by current research and best practices in the field.
