Seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed while walking home from a convenience store on the evening of February 26. The shooter, George Zimmerman, was the neighborhood watch captain. Zimmerman, a 200-pound 28-year-old with a history of violence, claimed self defense, even though Trayvon Martin had no criminal history and nothing more than candy and an iced tea in his hands

I am petitioning for the arrest of Trayvon Martin's killer. This was a horrible senseless crime.

Florida is not a safe place to take your family for vacation as long as Florida law permits a citizen to shoot or kill you for merely looking suspicious, and to do it with impunity. Boycott Florida tourism until this dangerous law is overturned. If the murder of Trayvon Martin isn't enough to get lawmaker's attention, maybe a loss in revenue to the state would be.

The original petition to boycott Florida tourism was posted more than a year ago, when there was intense debate going on about Stand Your Ground, because George Zimmerman had not been arrested in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. That trial has ended, and no petition in the world will bring Trayvon back to his grieving parents. This petition is about repealing Stand Your Ground in Florida (and in turn all other states that have it) because the law is flawed and dangerous.

Rhonda Desha McClain was planning on leaving her boyfriend, an Apple Valley physician's assistant, on March 11, 2011. Texts messages found in her phone confirmed this. She had plans of furthering her education and building a life for herself and her six-year-old daughter, Savannah. But Rhonda would never be given the opportunity to fulfill those dreams, because on March 7, 2011 (just four days before her plans were to be set into motion), she drowned in a bathtub at her boyfriend's home. An autopsy would later show that Rhonda had no underlying health problems and no drugs or alcohol in her system, yet she seemingly drowned in a shallow bathtub. The facts speak for themselves!

To this date, Trayvon Martin's life was ended, and no arrest has been made.

The perpetrator took the life of this young black boy without any reasons except that he was black! If Trevor was white, we would not even be talking about this. Please Pass a law to stop racial hatred and condemn it hard.

Rush Limbaugh has been a disgrace to American journalism for far too long. His latest tirade against women is an affront to all women. If one were to define a right-wing fanatic, Rush Limbaugh would be the definition. He has done more to cause serious division in this country by his fanatical right-wing tirades for years. In this state alone, normal discourse between Republicans and Democrats and Independents is not possible because of the hatred Republicans have for anything Democratic or "Obama-ish" including the color of President Obama's skin. A lot of this hatred is a result of Rush Limbaugh's dissembling of truth and outright false statements.

Citizens beware! Exxon Mobil ads promoting creation of pipeline to generate 500,000 jobs is false. This will not resolve our current high gas cost! Support protection of the environment before drilling. We need jobs but not at the expense of citizens that will be negatively impacted by building a pipeline. Boycott Exxon Mobil gas stations until they understand the importance of protecting citizens and the environment.

Justice for Trayvon Martin. We need to seek justice for that innocent child. It could be anyone's child in any circumstance.
