• Keep Birth Control in Obama Health Plan
Although Archbishop Dolan is against this portion of the health bill, historically, Catholics follow their beliefs. This should not rule out others who need or want this medication.

  • Open stock market records
The stock market is run on secrecy. The buyers and sellers identity is hidden from everyone except the insiders. Openness is better for the retail traders who are taken advantage of by the professionals. I propose that this identifying data be displayed in all completed orders. When a buyer or sellers order is bought by another market participant, the following data should be displayed for both the buyer and the seller; the sellers and buyers names, the stock broker's name, the brokerage company's name, the clearing firm name, the name of the cities where both orders originated, the trading platforms used, the time the orders were entered and completed. All of this information is already available in the computer record of the stock market clearing firms. Including this data in the display on my home computer would enhance my ability to see who is manipulating the stock maket. In my humble opinion displaying the buyer and seller names would take some of the secrecy out of the stock market.

  • Tell the FDA that we have a right to know what's in our food.
The FDA is on the brink of approving genetically engineered salmon for human consumption. This would be the first genetically engineered animal on supermarket shelves in the United States. The salmon is engineered to produce growth hormones year-round that cause the fish to grow at twice the normal rate. The government already requires labels to tell us if fish is wild-caught or farm-raised – don't we also have a right to know if our salmon is genetically engineered? Without labels, we'll never know. More than forty countries, including Russia and China, already require labels on genetically engineered foods. As Americans, we firmly believe that we deserve the same right to know what we are eating. That's why we hope you'll join us and over half a million other Americans in telling the FDA to require labels on genetically engineered foods. Eric Schlosser is the author of Fast Food Nation and a producer of the documentary Food, Inc. Gary Hirshberg is the Chairman of Stonyfield Farm and an advocate for sustainable food. By signing this petition, you will be submitting a comment to the FDA.

  • President Obama: Stop Apologizing for Protecting Women's Rights
It is offensive that President Obama and the Democrats are apologizing for protecting a woman's legal access to birth control. It is the job of the President to make sure everyone's legal rights are upheld. Stop Apologizing Now!

  • Change the Two Party System
Proportional voting increases voter choice and allows more accurate representation of the political parties in legislature. The basic approach of proportional representation is simple: If you have a 10-member district and the Republicans win 50% of the vote, they receive five of the ten seats. If the Democrats win 30% of the vote, they get three seats; and if a third party gets 20% of the vote, they win two seats. PR voting systems provide more accurate representation of third parties.

  • Universal Gay Marriage
There has been inequality in civil rights that exist today. People have not been able to be true to themselves and live happily without expressing thier true values. It is unconstitutional to not grant this right to everyone. Signing this petition will create more equality for everyone in our society.

  • President Obama: Take the High Road, no super PAC
A seat in the White house shouldn't be bought. Super PACs, by essentially allowing unlimited campaign donations, weaken our democracy. In his campaign against super PACs, President Obama needs to take the first step. In his campaign for re-election, he and his advisers should not solicit donations for Priorities USA Action or any other super PAC.
