• STOP FRAUDULENT FORECLOSURES - SUPPORT HB2705
HB2705 is intended to repeal or amend the language in HRS §490:3-301 "A person may be a person entitled to enforce the instrument even though the person is not the owner of the instrument or is in wrongful possession of the instrument." The verbiage was added in 1990 at the request of the financial industry under the guise of curbing check fraud. The language is outdated and more recently abused in the foreclosure process by eliminating the need to be the rightful holder of a mortgage loan in wrongful foreclosures, creating the opportunity to commit fraud. The language needs to be repealed or amended to protect consumers.

  • The Governor Wisconsin Needs Is Peter Barca
Those of us who have participated in this great Wisconsin movement that sprang up last winter have been looking for a candidate that we could rally behind; one who combines the spirit of an activist with a sharp political acumen; one who is willing to fight for not only us, but for ALL Wisconsinites. Wisconsin doesn't need a figure head or opportunist to challenge Scott Walker—Wisconsin needs a fighter. You have embodied that fighter mentality. You understand that if we keep putting the ACTUAL TRUTH from the front lines of the Capitol out where everyone can see it, we can win.

  • Save our Soccer Complex!
Fifteen years ago, the city leased a former junkyard and a cornfield to a non-profit soccer club called the Coulee Region United Soccer Association. CRUSA has spent those fifteen years building that 50 acre site into one of the premier soccer complexes in the Midwest, at NO COST to the city. It has benefited the entire community and surrounding area, and has been managed for the greater good of all and shared generously with all who love soccer. And now some people in the City of La Crosse government want to take it away and run it for profit.

  • Claudia says: "They are coming for you next"!
The illegal corporations and the courts are one and the same. We the little people have to fight them both at the same time. Example, for six years; although, the statuate has expired barred by latches both the court and the corps have ignored and acted as if it's not so.

  • How getting a "C" became an acceptable objective:
In the 8th Grade at Cabin John Middle School, there are only two choices for English - "Advanced" or On-Level. If you get an "A" or "B" in the Advanced class, it appears on your high school transcript (as a non-honors elective) impacting your high school GPA. If you get a "C," it does not appear on your high school transcript. Thus students who are not quite able to achieve an "A" are better off slacking off and aiming for a "C," rather than impacting their high school GPA with a "B." Is this REALLY what we want to be teaching our 8th graders??!!

  • Bringing Change to the Family Court System
The California Family Court System needs to start doing what it was designed to do: act in the best interest of our children. This isn't about Mothers' Rights or Fathers' Rights- it is about the rights of our children to live in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. The courts are too focused on being quick and fair with 50/50 custody splits instead of focusing on what is best for the children.

  • Help Protect Women's Health in Texas
Texas has signaled that it would rather lose $35 million annually in federal help to provide 130,000 poor women access to health care than allow Planned Parenthood to receive part of the funding. Health and Human Services Commissioner Tom Suehs signed a rule Thursday that officially bans Planned Parenthood and abortion provider affiliates from getting funding from Texas’ largely successful Women’s Health Program. We must call on the State Senate to repeal the law that makes this possible so that we may protect the health of women in Texas. Especially those who are unable to seek healthcare without state and federal aid.

  • Bring call center jobs back home
Foreign call centers not only ship jobs abroad, but they endanger our confidential personal information because they operate without U.S. data regulation. You can tell lawmakers to support the U.S. call center bill. The bill would protect consumers and build jobs in America by: 1. Creating a customers' right to know—Ending the secrecy about call center locations, so outsourcers and offshorers can't hide anymore. 2. Forcing companies that outsource abroad to return federal funding—Because our hard-earned tax dollars shouldn't go to support corporations that ship American jobs to foreign countries. 3. Giving you the right to be transferred to a US-based operator.

  • Drug testing
To receive any form of State Assistance and/or Unemployment Benefit, All persons 10 to 65 must have drug testing every other month to continue receiving benefits. And the state, or hospital where testing is conducted, must have the test results to the Department of Social and Health Services within 24 hours. Within the 2nd 24 hours, the results must be reviewed by an authority who will either approve the next check or send assistance receiver a form notifying them no check will be provided by tax payer money until the period following the next drug test scheduled for two months out. Everyone should benefit from this change....druggies? Maybe they will consider giving up drugs, seek help or a job. Taxpayers? Save thousands and thousands. If benefits are relied on to provide income then recepients should be treated like an employee who would need to provide clean drug tests before being hired. Testing results need to include everything from marijuana to the worst possible drug. No doctor prescription for marijuana use eliminates the discontinuance of benefits unless a physician verifies the recepient has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. This petition should be submitted to City, County, State and Federal governments. And I would appreciate acknowledgement this is petition request is accepted or denied.

  • Ban Plastic Bags on O'ahu
Hawaii needs to be a pioneer in the environmental game. We need to make bold moves, to be a leader in game-changing efforts. While the less-populated islands have approved moves like plastic bans, the impact of Oahu adopting such a ban would be incredible and vast.
