The origin of this petition is to seek enhanced court monitoring as well as enhancing disciplinary procedures for any and all court officials that practice unethically harsh actions and unfair sentencing due to overly biased personal opinions.

The new federal health law requires that Catholic-affiliated organizations with a largely secular workforce and/or serving a secular public must purchase insurance plans that cover birth control. The Catholic Church claims that this is a violation of the Church's religious freedom, and members of Congress are already talking about the need to compromise the requirement or get rid of it entirely. Tell Congress to protect the religious freedom of the tens of thousands of women who, without the mandate, will either have to continue to pay ten times the typical price of the birth control pill or simply do without it.

The proposed Railway Labor Act changes would drastically rewrite a statute that was crafted by labor-management cooperation and has not been changed for over 75 years without the agreement of both employer and employee representatives. Airline and rail workers would suffer significant losses as contracts are jettisoned, collective bargaining rights are cut and legal hurdles will be placed in the way of gaining a voice at work.

In Union County, SD, a child was abused while at day care. An indictment was handed down that charges the sole day care provider with child abuse. The provider is allowed to continue her day care business. The charge of child abuse is a misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of 1 year. The child that was injured was 2 years old.
