• NYC PARADE FOR VETERANS OF IRAQ WAR
New York City residents: Send a message to NYC Government that if we can honor the NY GIANTS by hosting a ticker tape parade celebrating their victory in the Superbowl, then we should act honorably and pay homage to the Service men and woman who served our country in The Iraq War. Many of those in today's American Armed Services are either from families living at or below the poverty level, and for many, joining the American Armed Services, this is the only way of attaining a higher education as a means of lifting themselves out of poverty. We ought to at least acknowledge their sacrifice and commitment to the ideals of this country in honoring their service. Many of those who've served in this war, apearantly have done several tours of duty. Regardless of our position on any of these wars, we should honor those who have served their country, and their families, with a Parade in the Canyon of Heroes, like we have all other generations of Veterans returning home.

  • Mayor Reed: Support Your LGBT Constituents
Chuck Reed, mayor of San Jose, has previously declared his stance against LGBT rights and allied himself with right-wing evangelicals, threatening the separation of church and state. San Jose is the tenth largest city in the country, and its one million inhabitants reflect the rich diversity of the West Coast. We now call on Mayor Reed to join the vast majority of American big-city mayors, stand up for San Jose gays and lesbians and their allies, and reverse his stance on marriage equality by signing his name to the U.S. Conference of Mayors Resolution 46: Equality and Civil Rights for Gay and Lesbian Americans.

  • stop bank service charge for paper statements
It is too expensive. It is unfair to the old, poor or immigrant community who do not have or use computers. It favors the well off who have enough money in the bank for the service charge to be waived.

  • We Will Make No Mortgage Payment This Month
Our state and federal government is negotiating with banks and the mortgage industry against our interests. We will not make a mortgage payment for the month of April 2012 (and repeat as necessary) to show support for those unfairly foreclosed and for all people who have lost wealth through falling property and/or retirement/pension fund value.

  • Demand Karen Handel's Removal as Komen VP
Karen Handel was the driving force behind Komen's decision to defund Planned Parenthood. By putting her own political agenda ahead of Komen's mission to fight breast cancer, she risked losing donations and Komen supporters. She should be removed as vice president.

  • Demand Tax Reform on the top 1%. Buy Small or Not at All on TAX day April 15.
The Top 1% depend on the bottom 99% to buy goods and services from big, publically-owned businesses. Then, the Top 1% get dividends from these companies and pay only 15% or less in taxes on their "earnings." When you buy from small businesses, you cut out the Top 1% and contribute to U.S. jobs (21.9 mil from small bus vs. 1.8 mil from big), lessen pollution (shorter supply lines) and increase community support (small businesses give 250% more to charity and non-profits than big ones do)

  • Demand the DNC Stop Undermining Public Workers
Every time someone from the DNC repeats the Conservative phrase "Private-Sector Job Growth" it implies public workers don't matter. They do matter. We need to end this phrase and support ALL workers in America.
