• Reduce Government Costs
Reducing wages and benefits for Government Officials in Congress and the Senate. This would help the deficit, as well as, make it clear to these 'government officials' WE PAY THEIR WAY ! And since they are really not doing the jobs we hired them for....they do not deserve the benefits they're receiving. Let's put government officials on the same level as the people they are SUPPOSED to be representing...NO 'extra benefits' ..no, excused from paying their kid's Student loans, NO Health Benefits unless THEY'RE paying for them,,,especially, AFTER they are 'out of office' ... Then we'll see how much of the 1% THEY want to represent !

  • Bankrupting the Nation: Corporate Welfare
Corporate welfare is any government spending program that provides unique benefits or advantages to specific companies or industries. Billions of dollars in corporate welfare are given in the form of subsidies, tax discounts, payroll rebates, cash grants, training funds, low-cost loans and leases, free buildings and free land and avoidance of costs of environmental health and safety. Most of this “aid” is given without public knowledge. Examples include the USDA giving $100 million taxpayer dollars yearly to exporters of food and other agricultural products to market their products overseas e.g. Sunkist, Dole, Gallo, Sunsweet; the Department of Commerce ‘s Advanced Tech Program giving $200 million taxpayer dollars anually in research grants to some of the nation's largest high-tech companies; those grants allow private companies to use taxpayer dollars to help them develop and bring to market profitable new products and the Export-Import Bank using $700 million taxpayer dollars/ year to provide subsidized financing to foreign purchasers of U.S. goods.

  • Matching empty homes with homeless families
I live next door to a home that has been abandoned for several years. My church serves meals to homeless people who sleep in their cars or outdoors. There should be a program to cover utilities and food and help them take care of the house till they can get their feet under them again and the house can be sold.

  • unemployment and welfare drug testing
We want our government to know that us hardworking , tax paying citizens, are fed up with paying for people to use our money for supporting thier drug habits. We have to go to jobs where we are not allowed to use drugs. Some of us are even tested ourselves. This country is in extream debt. If drug users were not recieving payments to use then im sure that would save billions of dollars a year that could be used for better things like teachers for our schools, social security, medicare, and maybe funding drug programs where the drug abusers could go to get clean and sober.

  • Sacramento Supervisors: Stop the Costly Jail Expansion!
In response to the realignment of prisoners to the county jails. Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones has proposed a $100 million expansion to the County' Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center. This expansion would add 384 expensive and unneeded beds to the County's jails. In November, the County Supervisors already approved the reopening of 275 closed cells, costing the county $5.98 million, or 46%, of the 2011-2012 realignment budget for the Sacramento County. Realignment should be utilized to expand community program s and alternatives to incarceration not to build more cages.

  • Florida right of recall
Currently we the citizens of Florida have no legal method to get rid of the government that is bankrupting us. Our present governor has a voter satisfaction rating that is lower than any other governor and a legislature that supports or even expands on his disastrous policies.
