Open letter to Senator Mitch McConnellThough my letter is addressed to Senator Mitch McConnell regarding gun legislation. I am sure everyone would agree that this is an urgent issue that affects every American and need to be addressed soon. As a constituent and citizen I am trying to initiate a bipartisan conversation. Hence copied all prominent law makers from my state and across US. This letter is based on the conversation that I had with friends, family and other parents in my neighborhood2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Krishnan Seshasayee

Nicole’s order of protection for womenDomestic Violence has become so familiar in the era we are living in. So many broken families have suffered the loss of a loved one who was involved in a domestic violence relationship. A simple order of protection does not ensure the safety of each individual. The proof is all that is needed to have someone locked up with valid evidence. When a person has been dealing with death threats of all kinds, it should hold weight in the court system. In order to protect, we must take all necessary measures and actions against the violators. Some of these situations may never get resolved with the individual who may be suffering from mental disabilities. Counseling the perpetrators and the petitioners should be a main tactic. Death threats should automatically result in incarceration. We must protect the safety of our women all over the world. Violation of a restraining order may result in the death of the petitioner when we had all the proof needed to save the lives of our women110 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Nicole Wilson

Congress Act Now on DACAAs the daughter of an immigrant who benefited from the Immigration and Control Reform Act of 1986, I was lucky that growing up I didn't have to live with the fear that my parents might be deported. Unfortunately as the clock ticks for DACA, recipients and their family members live in limbo with daily fear and anxiety. Congress should act now and pass legislation to provide DACA recipients with a path to citizenship. It is time we give DACA recipients and their families an opportunity to succeed.201 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Tracy Escobedo

We believe survivors: Impeach Justice Brett KavanaughAn explosive new investigation in the New York Times came out last weekend with yet another credible accusation of sexual assault against the Supreme Court Justice. The report also details new evidence that Kavanaugh lied under oath during his Supreme Court confirmation hearings. Not once. Not twice. But literally dozens of times. Now, outrage is growing and pressure is building on the House to move forward with impeachment proceedings. The House Judiciary Committee has the authority and responsibility to begin an investigation into the accusations of sexual assault and perjury--and hold Kavanaugh accountable. The good news is that if we can show enough public pressure to act, Democrats in the House might do it. Sign now to tell your member of Congress to advocate for the impeachment of Justice Kavanaugh. Tell 2020 candidates to show up for the Climate Strike on 9/20The US Youth Climate Strike, Sunrise Movement, 350.org, and many others have been among those leading the climate movement in the United States. While we continue to support calls for a climate debate, we must recognize other opportunities to speak out about the climate crisis. The CNN town hall on climate was a good first step. All candidates should also participate in the MSNBC town hall. However, knowing there are Climate Strike events all over the country means every candidate will have an opportunity to step off the political stage and instead join the grassroots movement in solidarity. We can't wait until after the 2020 elections to start tackling the existential crisis facing human life on this planet. We have to mobilize now. Tell the 2020 candidates to make plans to join a Climate Strike event this Friday. MoveOn.org/ClimateStrike8,325 of 9,000 SignaturesCreated by US Youth Climate Strike

Rep. Thompson: Hold Hearings into ICE's Rogue Treatment of Yoel Alonso Leal and Other Asylum SeekersYoel Alonso Leal is a loving father, devoted husband, and cancer patient who should be preparing for the fight of his life with a team of doctors and his family by his side. Instead he spent over ten months being shuttled through a series of secretive ICE detention centers, his health rapidly deteriorating, before being deported on September 12 to Cuba—a country where he fears for his life. We cannot let ICE destroy lives like this with impunity and demand Congress hold ICE to account.514 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Nicolas Esguerra

We are not Saudi Arabia's army. This is insane. After Saudi Arabia's oil facilities were attacked, Trump tweeted that the U.S. military is "locked and loaded" and "waiting to hear from the Kingdom ... under what terms we would proceed!" Sorry Trump, but we are not Saudi Arabia's army. No U.S. soldier—nor anyone else in the region—should die in a dumb and disastrous war to defend Saudi Arabia's dictatorship. ---------- Source: @realDonaldTrump tweet, Sep 15, 2019, 6:50 PM: "Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked. There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!" https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/117336842338196275222,218 of 25,000 SignaturesCreated by Sunjeev Bery
