• No More Loggers in National Forests
It has been proven we only can breathe oxygen. If our future generations will have any hopes of surviving it is pertinent to leave our oxygen resource in tact. These forests were ordained to be protected lands for the people and not meant to be a profit for corporations. After all, what use is money if you do not have the oxygen necessary to breathe. Save the future of tomorrow by demanding that all national forests are not acceptable harvesting sites. Instead, companies should invest into sustainable ways of gaining access to new profits. For example, they need to plant, tend, and harvest only from the lands they personally plant for the sole purpose of cutting and gaining profit.

  • John Bolton is Out, Wilbur Ross Should Be the Next to Go
Wilbur Ross never should have been confirmed. He has huge conflicts of interest. He falls asleep in meetings. He authorized the unconscionable effort to include a citizenship question on the census — designed to deter recent immigrants from responding. And he now ordered officials to lie or be fired. Wilbur Ross has got to go.

  • Jackson Twp. Parks Dept. Off Leash Dog Park
To preserve green space, Jackson Township has created an extensive park system consisting of eight parks with over 240 acres of land where residents can play, enjoy nature and the outdoors. It is the mission of the Jackson Township Parks & Recreation Department to improve the quality of life for all residents by providing & maintaining quality parks, facilities, programs, services and cultural opportunities designed to enhance the appreciation of open space, leisure and community involvement. There is no off-leash dog exercise facility within the Jackson Township Parks Department. Township resident pet owners need and deserve a facility within the park system for their domesticated canine pets (dogs) to exercise and socialize in a controlled "Off Leash" area within the park system. By signing this petition, I support the creation and maintenance of a Off Leash Dog Park as part of the Jackson Township Parks Department.

  • Cancel Saudi Dictator Event in New York
On September 23, 2019, Saudi Arabia's brutal crown prince Mohammad Bin Salman is holding a preposterous event in New York City. No one should attend. The Saudi dictator's personal charity will host U.N. officials, VIPs, and several hundred youth at the New York Public Library. Attending youth will supposedly learn how to "balance purpose with profit." (1) This is the same Saudi dictator who has: - slaughtered thousands of people in Yemen, - murdered dissident Jamal Khashoggi, and - imprisoned and tortured women's rights activists. Why should anyone be learning about "purpose" from a charity run by Saudi Arabia's dictatorship? To make matters even more ridiculous, VIP attendees include: - the granddaughter of Jacques Cousteau, Alexandra Cousteau; - Paul Polman, the former CEO of Unilever; - Bart Houlahan, cofounder of B Lab; - Jayathma Wickramanayake, the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth; - Andrew Corbett, Professor at Babson College; and - Ann Rosenberg , Senior Vice President for UN Partnerships at SAP. (2) (3) How did any of these people think this was a good idea? Were they paid to participate? If so, how much? All UN officials and VIP guests should drop out immediately. No one should be helping a Saudi dictator use charity events to wash away their crimes. Journalist James Reinl has written extensively about this event in articles for Middle East Eye, Inter Press Service, and Inside Over. • Close stores on Thanksgiving Day
I have observed over the last few years, that stores have begun to open for business in the afternoon or early evening on Thanksgiving Day. This prevents the workers from enjoying one of the most important holidays with their families. Some businesses have capitalized on profits from bargain hunters looking for black Fridays deals, at the expense of employees' time with families. I believe other concerned Americans would want to see stores remain closed in observance of Thanksgiving. Let Black Friday remain on Friday!

  • Amazon.com - Retire Alexa!
At a time when we can digitally become more diverse, we’re stepping backwards and creating more sexism in our daily lives. The latest and worst example is Alexa from Amazon. It is a fairly common woman's name. There are no options to change the voice to male or gender-neutral. To not provide these options is an archaic statement that a woman’s role is to serve, to be on call, to be told what to do. That is the message Alexa and other female only automated voices are training younger people today to accept. Amazon can do better than this. Please join in asking Amazon to retire the name Alexa plus provide options for male and gender-neutral voices. Add your name to this petition that will be delivered to Amazon. Also please share this petition! Tell this story! It’s an easy fix. Given the opportunity, there’s a good chance Amazon will step up to do what is right. We just have to collectively ask for it. • Stop Deporting Military Spouses
Over the last two decades, hundreds of thousands of American men and women have risked their lives serving in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. For the most part, they have done so secure in the knowledge that if they are killed, their country will provide for their families. For those whose spouses are undocumented immigrants, however, this is an obligation our government has not met. Last year, Univision reported that nearly 12,000 military spouses were in deportation proceedings. Earlier this year, the Trump administration announced plans to remove protections for the spouses of servicemen and women currently deployed. Cuauhtemoc “Temo” Juarez served in combat as a Marine in Iraq from 2003 to 2005. While he was deployed overseas, his wife Alejandra cared for their infant daughter Pamela, now a high school senior. They later had another daughter Estela, now ten years old. Temo and both children are US citizens, but Alejandra, an undocumented immigrant, was deported to Mexico in 2018 despite having no criminal record. Estela, too young to be left alone while Temo is working, also moved to Mexico with Alejandra. Cindy Furman served in the Air Force in Iraq. She met her future husband Demetry, who was serving in the Canadian military, while he trained with US forces. He held US security clearances and later served in Afghanistan as part of the US-led coalition. In 2018, he was arrested in Ohio and later deported. His crime? A minor drug conviction in Canada in 1992, for which he served 28 days of community service and paid a fine. He was pardoned in 2002, but is still ineligible for a visa as a result. He now lives in Ontario. Cindy, suffering from health problems, remained in Ohio to be near her adult children, and is unable to travel to visit her husband. Alejandra and Demetry are two of the many military spouses who have been deported, tearing apart the families of those who have served this country. The Protect Patriot Spouses Act, introduced by Congressman Darren Soto of Florida, would allow many of these spouses to pursue legal permanent residency, an opportunity they do not have under current immigration law. https://www.npr.org/2019/06/27/736362986/trump-wants-to-withdraw-deportation-protections-for-families-of-active-troops https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/557?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22%5C%22protect+patriot+spouses%5C%22%22%5D%7D&s=1&r=1
