The House of Representatives impeaching a sitting president is historic and needs to be taken seriously by the Senate. Unfortunately, however, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are falling into their political lines and staying complicit with the greed and corruption of this administration. Mitch McConnell is protecting an administration rife with bribery, obstruction of justice, and corruption. McConnell must remember he is accountable to the American public, not this administration. As such, he must allow witnesses to publicly testify. If this administration has done no wrongdoing, then these direct witnesses will be able to provide President Trump some very much needed exculpatory evidence. If there was no wrongdoing, Republicans, McConnell, and this administration should have nothing to fear from the questioning of first-hand witnesses. First-hand, direct witnesses should be required to testify in front of the Senate for a fair impeachment trial. The American people have a right to hear the truth.

Seasonal workers are spread out throughout Pierce County, so it is hard to organize. It is the hope that this petition will help seasonal workers share their stories and also spread the word about our local HR department's deceptive (or in the least- very disorganized) hiring practices of seasonal workers to each other and our community. This time of year, companies like UPS, Fed Ex, and Amazon ramp up hiring due to the increased volume of deliveries. UPS is a large company here in South Sound, and our community should know how they are currently treating many seasonal employees. Seasonal employees are essential to getting work done during the holiday season. They deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Many were deceived or had their pay rate misrepresented when they were hired. As far as the petition writer knows, there has been no written communication from UPS HR to confirm that employees who are being underpaid will receive back pay and have their wage changed to the rate at which they were hired. Seasonal employees deserve to be compensated for the hourly wage they were offered (and that was publicly advertised), and there should be consistent ($18/hour) wage for all Driver Helpers. Middle management and union reps have been working hard (at least from the petitioner writer's experience) to support seasonal workers and advocate for the pay they were offered when hired. The high turn over of seasonal workers impacts management and all the full-time drivers at our regional UPS.

And even more serious, the most serious: obstructing Congress by refusing to participate or comply with the checks that protect our republic. Seventeen fact witnesses have testified to the lead-up to the extortion, executing the extortion, and covering up of extortion and provided their notes and messages. Our ally is still weakened in their position negotiating for peace, and Russia is emboldened to meddle in our elections again. As additional experts have testified before the House Judiciary Committee, it has become abundantly clear that House Republicans have no excuse for not supporting impeachment and have shown a willingness to be complicit in the continued undermining of the Constitution. It is time for ALL senators to approach the impeachment trial of Donald Trump soberly and without partiality. Senator Martha McSally no longer has any excuse. She must support a fair impeachment trial.

In the last year, three children have died from flu-related illnesses while in immigration jails, yet Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officials refuse to offer flu vaccines to children and families. On December 9, I joined dozens of my fellow doctors and went to the Chula Vista Border Patrol Station and demanded to be let in to treat the children. We had flu vaccines, all needed equipment, our medical licenses, translators, and consent forms -- we were ready to treat the children, all at no charge to the federal government. We stood outside the gates for six hours, chanting peacefully and asking to be let in -- but the Border Patrol refused. So the next day, we went to the CBP headquarters in San Diego and demanded to be let in again. Then they arrested me, three other physicians, and two activists. I was shocked. I am a doctor. I remember what it was like to come over the border when I was a child, and I still carry the psychological trauma from it. I know -- both from my own personal experience and my experience as a doctor -- that child separation has a horrific impact on the mind and body. The flu can be treated, and it’s unconscionable that the CBP is denying children the most basic care. I took an oath, and I take that seriously. Please stand with us and demand we are let in. The producers take advantage of the people who agree to come on the television show. They mess with their lives and feelings!! There is proof that one of the producers contacted someone who was on the show and threatened them because they refused to cheat on their partner!! WHAT PRODUCER DOES THAT?! They ruined relationships and real peoples lives!! No TV show should do that. They have over 10 STORY PRODUCERS!! “A Story Producer is a term used in reality television for the person who is responsible for creating a story line via editing/producing the show's source footage. They may also be responsible for writing Host dialogue.” This show is bad for our children and their future. Nobody can learn a thing from this show! It is being run by unprofessionals!!
