As a very proud Bristol Bay Fisherman, I get to work up close with the beautiful commercial and sport fishing community in Alaska. Every year thousands of people depend on the healthy salmon run. Some depend on this run to feed and support their families. Others depend on it because it is the lifeblood of a culture that has been around for hundreds of years. A proposal for a mine is causing a catastrophic threat to the salmon, community, culture and our world. This petition is an effort to stop the Pebble Mine and educate the country on the importance of keeping Bristol Bay healthy.

Winter is a couple of weeks away and these kids are inadequately prepped for summer talk less surviving winter in the cold desert of Arizona, New Mexico, California or Texas. Time is now to tell Trump that what his administration is doing at the southern border could easily lead to child sacrifice this winter. We can’t tolerate it. We won’t allow it to happen, and we will not stand by to watch these kids freeze to death this winter. I have a special needs child and though i am not on state assistance, nor does my child get Social Security disability, but for parent that does recieve it,this particular type, the amount depends on the income which fluctuates often, but if the absent parent made theyre payments, the child support payments would probably be more than the SSD the other wouldnt have to worry about if she statedan extra if it would affect her SSD benifits, the child could be in a better situation, the parent could provide so much beeter for the child. With SSD a parent may get $200, the one month and he may get $1.42 the next month all because she stayed an extra 1 hour at work. Most absent parents don't have any felony convictions, have 2 arms, 2 legs, no medical conditions, a head and has job skills but can't seem to keep or get a job, or report a job which is more of the case, like most of these parents that owe back child support. There are some over 16000.00 past due and there are those who are $65000. or more behind and counting, all the agency can say is"we can't find him", there'ss on social media, legally marriages, some have valid DL, but but if any parent waiting, needing, deserving these payments were to be .50 over in income they're reduced or cut off, they find past employers of the custoial parent that hadn't been employed at a place for years, but you can't find these fathers or parents. Again i repeat, Mn laws on child support are one of the leaniest in the country. They don't believe in shaming these shameful people for whatever their reasons are, but im sure that child ifeels ashamed of standing in the food shelf line or getting on the school bus at homeless shelter is ashamed, so i guess that leaves the citizens of Mn taking care of their kids instead of them. Mn's idea of doing isn't enough or next to nothing but they're quick to make changes to food support or cash assistance to get closer to not footing the bill. The C.S laws gets nowhere or what they change is one problem, as if its only one problem, it's all mportant. These parents live very well underground or off the radar or with a spouse, dressed nice, eat well, able to travel because they hide behind the fact of not putting their name on property, utility bills, credit cards, expensive cars or wotking at cash to hand or under the table type of outfit operations. They hide assets in the spouse or girlfriend's name.while the child is living in terrible conditions, homeless, its not fair and it needs to stop, they need to be held responsible for these children. I personally can care less if this ink mistake a.k.a father never visits, calls or cares about the countless surgeries, education or what religion to follow ever, the laws can't make him love him, they can't even make him like my child but they can make him take care of him financially. Single parents, real single parents we get it done, whether we have a degree under our belts or not, we make it work everyday, to after school events, doctors appts, social events, colleges with or w/o medical conditions whatever the restriction, we do our jobs, because we love our children, i love my son very much, disability and all that comes with it, I don't it, we don't it because Mn makes us, but because we love them whole heartedly, unconditionallyally. They didn't ask to be here and they shouldn't have to live with anything less than that equally capable non-custodial parent does. No child should and as long as im at the wheel my son never will., like these other moms. These children our, children they didn't get here with one parent, one parent shouldn't have to foot the 18 year bill, nevertheless tat one parent hat was there doing it all, will be more than happy to have the reciept of their child's success.

The City of Los Angeles recently honored former President Barack Obama by renaming a stretch of the 134 Freeway near Downtown L.A. in his honor. We request that San Francisco's administrators do the same by renaming the 500 block of California Street after the former president. This location, in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District, acknowledges President Obama's leadership during and after the Great Recession.

Several cities are taking the initiative to rename streets in honor of our 44th president. Honolulu should do so as well. Changing Saratoga Road to President Barack H. Obama Avenue shows that the people of Honolulu value character over crassness.

Removing late start Thursdays at Ray-Pec High School will allow the students to create a routine. After speaking with many parents, these late starts are creating issues with jobs, interferes with siblings, and can create an unsafe environment. Most students in high school should be capable of staying home by themselves without supervision. However, there are many students who are not capable of this. This petition could prove to the school the needs of the parents. The school says these late starts avoid having a teacher on service days. This is not true. They still have the same teacher on service days as all the other schools in the district. Panther time should be a privilege and a supervised activity. This shouldn't be something just given to students. Again, talking with parents of current and graduated students, their children got into trouble during Panther time because of the "free" environment. Students can sit anywhere and do whatever they want and if you go to the office to get your student they don't know where your teen will be. With all the school shootings, this is placing kids in harm's way. The last thing we need is to not know where students are. During Panther time students have snuck into places and have (by way of social media, NOT the school) been found to be doing inappropriate, non-school sanctioned activities. With teens, we all know the activities that have happened. Put the students' safety FIRST.
