This is one of those rare, clear cut moments in which the leaders of our financial corporations have an opportunity to lead or to fail. Failure to act to help furloughed federal workers is likely to result in profit down the line for these corporations who were so recently beneficiaries of that very government. What these companies will collect in penalties, fines, fees, and high rates of interest is so tiny compared to the magnanimity of the windfall they received as their tax liability was reduced. Helping the furloughed federal workers, or at least not hurting these workers with late fees, penalties, and high rates of interest for prolonged credit card debt, sets a remarkable precedent and is simply the right thing to do.

As someone who is LGBT (bisexual) this cause is close to me because all to often, LGBT people are the target of covert discrimination attempts through the usage of "religious freedom" legal exemptions, which are explicitly designed to allow for bigots who use their religion to justify to hatred to discriminate against people. It's time to put an end to these licenses to discriminate.

I was a witness to the immediate aftermath of a horrible car accident on Roosevelt Avenue on Jan 2, 2019. A black Lincoln was on top of a woman. Traffic fatalities/injuries are too high, our carbon footprint is through the roof, and pedestrian rights are being trampled by ever increasing car traffic levels. Medical Marijuana has been legalized in Louisiana for physicians to recommend to patients with an approved chronic debilitating medical conditions under ACT 261 in 2015. This treatment option will help those who are suffering daily with these debilitating conditions and increase their quality of life tremendously. The date for the release of the product continues to be pushed back time and time again. As of January 2019, qualified patients are still unable to obtain the medication because of the hold up by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture. We need the immediate release of product now!

There is a speeding concern on the intersection of 2nd and Meyler in San Pedro, CA. We are petitioning to have a four-way stop sign installed. This is an issue because neighborhood cars have been totaled and lives have been at risk. People in the neighborhood have been personally affected by this issue a few times but especially the night of January 6, 2019. 2nd and Meyler currently allow fast-moving traffic to blast through the neighborhood, resulting in all-too-frequent collisions that cause devastating injuries and damage to vehicles. The amount of speeding and unimpeded is likely to increase with time, resulting in even more serious consequences. We, whose signatures follow, out of concern for vehicle occupants, pedestrians, bicyclists, and families living in homes on 2nd and Meyler, hereby petition the City of San Pedro to improve quality of life and provide a safer environment by installing four-way stop signs on 2nd and Meyler.
