Voters delivered a mandate -- and an opportunity -- to move our democracy forward. It’s time for Congress to listen. We need a democracy where voters are protected from discrimination and can make themselves heard at the ballot box. A democracy where electoral districts are drawn fairly, so that every voter’s ballot is worth the same. And a democracy where ordinary Americans -- more women, people of color, and working people -- can run for office without relying on special interest Big Money. Just imagine what a Congress that took our democracy seriously could accomplish. We must ensure that the For the People Act (H.R. 1), which the House of Representatives is introducing, is the strongest package possible of democracy reforms -- to make sure government works for all of us. These solutions are already working in states and cities across the country -- many of them passed by ballot initiative with strong bipartisan support -- and we can’t let special interest groups and others who prefer the status quo stand in our way. As a student, I see the effects of gun violence every day. We must do everything we can to curb it and prevent more mass shootings.

People who work must be paid for what they do, otherwise it is human nature that we do a poorer job. It has been over three weeks since the government partially shut down. I believe the health and safety of all Americans are greatly at risk. I am afraid that things will get worse quick. Negotiating does not mean do it my way or not at all. Our President needs to negotiate and not posture. If he is really concerned about National Security he will sign legislation to reopen the government and then if he really wants a wall he can negotiate with Congress for this as a separate issue.

As evidenced by the past two years of obstruction, the Republican Party has relinquished its duties in providing oversight of the president and refused to serve as a separate branch of government meant to provide a check on executive power. Numerous ties established between the Trump administration and Russia have been concurrent with curious ties to the Republican Party --infiltrated by now-indicted Russian operative Maria Butina--and contributors like the NRA. To preserve our democracy from foreign interference and to better understand the GOP's active attacks on federal investigators into the Mueller investigation, Congress must act and investigate the Republican Party and congressional Republicans to shed light on any compromising ties to our foreign adversary and potentially dispel any doubts if there is no connection present.

The administration and republicans are misdirecting and driving the narrative and there is a solution to for opening government that also revals McConnell's culpability.

The purpose of this petition is to prevent the availability of a video hate game called 'ANGRY GOY 2'. Such hate games can bring more violence to these already vulnerable groups. White Supremacist Steve King has long been associated with racism. He has done interviews with far-right media expressing his belief in the superiority of European culture. His latest comments to the New York Times defended white supremacy and nationalism. These are just small examples of the racism King has promoted over the years. If we can’t remove him from office, we should join the Congresional Black Caucus in demanding Congress to remove this racist from the committees he sits on which include the Committees on Agriculture, Small Business and the Judiciary.

I work in a community hospital ER in Massachusetts. Unfortunately, assault by patients to staff is a not uncommon occurrence. I have been assaulted by patients several times and have seen worse assaults on coworkers. In all instances, police were called and no one was arrested because police did not personally witness the assault, per MA law. On Thursday, this happened again. My coworker was beaten so badly that she had to go home with a walker. The only reason the perp was arrested was because my coworker was over 60. I am happy that the perp was arrested, but this should be the rule and not the exception. I should not be afraid to go to work. Please sign this petition to stop healthcare worker abuse.
