There are nearly 2 million domestic or in-home workers in America—nannies, housekeepers and home health care workers—who are excluded from basic labor protections. That means many workers face low or no pay and discrimination or harassment at work with no repercussions. The majority of these workers are women and people of color. That's why Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and I are partnering up to introduce the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights in the next session of Congress. If our bill is enacted into law, we can protect some of the most vulnerable and exploited workers in America. The work of domestic workers is so incredibly important, both as caregivers and as organizers. We need to speak the truth: these workers are too often undervalued and underappreciated, and don’t have the same workplace protections as other workers. It's not right. If passed, the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights will: -Close legal loopholes excluding domestic workers from certain federal labor and civil rights laws -Create new benefits and protections for domestic workers -Encourage innovative solutions to address the unique challenges of domestic work -Create new tools to ensure that these rights are real and that workers can exercise their rights without fear This fall, Americans elected a historically diverse Congress to represent all Americans—so I believe there's no better time to pass this legislation. Congress has the power under Section 5 of the 14th Amendment and Section 2 of the 15th Amendment to enforce the fundamental right of every citizen to an equal vote. The House of Representatives has the power and moral authority to take the lead in protecting the right of Americans to an equal vote in the selection of the President. The House of Representatives should establish a Select Committee to take the following actions, among others: • Receive testimony from the public and from experts about the impact and distortions of the current Elector system; • Establish standards for the conduct of Presidential elections consistent with the 14th and 15th Amendments; • Endorse remedial steps to solve the problem, including the efforts of the National Popular Vote Project. • Propose and enact enabling legislation to empower federal official, state officials, or private citizens to challenge the impact of the current Electoral system • Report to Congress and the people no later than January 2020 with a plan and recommendations for change.

But outgoing Speaker Paul Ryan used parliamentary tricks to block action in the House. As soon as the new Congress is seated, Congress should pass a Yemen War Powers Resolution to end the war and save the lives of millions of human beings.

New York has the most segregated schools in the US. NYC is the only district in the nation with high schools that use a single test to determine admission. Integrated schools are best for all children. It's now sixty-five years after Brown v. Board of Ed. We should no longer support school segregation.

The Tuesday and Thursday 8 am and 9 am Aqua Spin Class participants have been taking the same Beginners class for the last several sessions because there is not an Intermediate Class. We feel that more advanced training at this point is necessary to obtain our individual desired goals. There is an advanced class held on Saturday, however, the current participants are requesting a morning weekday (preferably two weekdays) Intermediate Aqua Spin course. We are requesting for the course to begin in the Winter (Jan 2019) or Spring Sessions 2019.

I am a senior citizen & I need my social security, I need my COLA raises and the one I will get in 2019 is the first in the last seven years! My last one was $8 and the one before that, was, I think, $3.00! and they were years apart! It's my $$ & my employer's, not Congresses'!!

Closure of the GM Lordstown Assembly Plant would be a disaster for thousands of working families and scores of communities in NE Ohio. The most viable option to prevent plant closure is to echo the call by GM for a zero-emission future through mass production of long-range all-electric vehicles and call for the allocation of the cars of the future at Lordstown.
