It is refreshing to finally see a huge corporation show support for people of color who are simply trying to bring attention to the inequity of treatment by law enforcement. I feel that Nike is courageous, especially given how entrenched it is in all sports.

As citizens of the United States, we have the right to know our elected Senators are giving full disclosure of their IRS income tax to be free of money laundering and racketeering influence from Citizens United.

No matter who occupies the White House, senators -- and the public -- should be fully informed with all that’s at stake before consenting to a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. President Trump is a subject of investigation by the Department of Justice related to alleged corruption of our elections. Matters arising from the investigation could be headed the Supreme Court. But despite this, Senate leadership wants to rush through Trump’s pick for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court, seating a judge who may eventually rule on the multiple investigations involving him. And all without having access to Judge Kavanaugh’s complete record. Waiting until there is more public information about the DOJ's investigations and Kavanaugh's record will allow senators to evaluate more fully the basis of the president’s decision to choose a specific nominee for a lifetime seat on the high court. This is about trust in the rule of law -- the Senate must not rush through this nomination process.

I’m so tired of watching our elected officials go against the majority of their constituents because there are a few large donors who they feel compelled to work for. If we’re going to be a democratic society we need to ban corporations from donating and only allow individuals to donate . I feel that way less money will be wasted on campaigns , we won’t have to see as many of those horrible commercials around election time. Money is destroying our system it’s time to make candidates work for our votes not for large donations.

We, as progressives, believe in workers rights. Yet all too often, non profit organizations, political campaigns, for profit companies, and political organizations post jobs that either are unpaid internships or that pay workers as independent contractors instead of employees -- which means the worker is responsible for 100% of the taxes on their compensation and 100% responsible for benefits they would have otherwise received as an employee. This is unfair to workers across the United States. If we can get these progressive job boards to stop posting unpaid internships and to only post jobs which are paid as employees (W2, not 1099), we can cut off the pipeline of applicants. By cutting off their supply of applicants, I believe we can force non profit organizations and for profit companies to do the right thing, pay their interns a living wage, and to pay their fair share of taxes and benefits.

A "Paper of Record" belongs to the community they serve. Josh Compton, President of Jefferson County Commission, who should be supporting every effort to keep hard earned tax money within Jefferson County, and support all small businesses, seems to be doing the opposite, by inviting to give away our money to another city and county, which would benefit no one in our community, and hurt a small local business. This is his chance to listen to the people of Jefferson County. We are the voices in our government! Del Aire residents want to prevent aviation from being developed at this height without a proper buffer zone between a 6 story building and a 1 story house. We must prevent this precedent from being established and abused, we want to prevent aviation from being developed at this height, and prevent future building of this type along the East side of aviation where properties abut communities. I am starting this petition because I am so sick of politicians begging for money, and for the most part, getting it, from hard-working Americans, many of whom cannot afford it. Let's elect statesmen, rather than money grubbers. I love Berniece Sanders, but what happened to all the money he collected in 2015 and 2016? Likewise, I adore Elizabeth Warren, but why should I receive a text from her asking me to send money to defeat Kavanaugh? Why send Congress money to have them stand against a nomination from an unindicted co-conspirator? That is Congress's job. Congress, do your job!

We should be confident that people buying guns are not a danger to the public. This would be one step in reaching that goal. Our security and possibly our lives depend on it.
