Petition to Recognize Reflexology as a Complementary Therapy Separate from Massage and Other Hand...BACKGROUND: Reflexologists in Texas, and national and state associations, have been active for over three decades to separate the Reflexology profession from massage. 33 U.S. states exempt Reflexology from the massage law and many countries worldwide recognize the difference between the two. Reflexology has 5 state laws of its own, and the National Institute of Health lists Reflexology as a separate discipline. In Texas, there is no reason why this separation should not be formally recognized NOW. You can assist this endeavor by signing this petition in support of Reflexology in Texas - whether you are a client or practitioner. You can also sign the petition if you do not live in Texas or the USA - the more voices heard, the better. Please share far and wide. Reflexology as a stand-alone profession is in the best interest of us all. THANK YOU!929 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Diana Foley

Salesforce PledgeDear Mr. Benioff, In solidarity with the thousands of undocumented immigrants who live in fear for their lives everyday, we, students at Stanford, pledge to refrain from interviewing with Salesforce until it fully withdraws from its contract with Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) to modernize its staff recruiting process, manage border activities, and engage with citizens. Your support for San Francisco’s homeless funding measure, Prop C, while helpful to the thousands of unhoused people in San Francisco, does not exculpate you from the harm your company continues to inflict on undocumented immigrants by hiring more Border Patrol agents. Advocacy organizations like Mijente and RAICES--led by and serving undocumented people--have explicitly and consistently asked you to cancel this contract and you have refused, citing that none of this technology enables the separation of families. Unfortunately, family separation has been a hallmark outcome of this deportation machine for years. You have prided yourself on “disrupting” social good in the tech world. Providing this software to CBP is not “disrupting” anyone’s world except those risking their lives to escape violence. What if instead of guns and your software, Border Patrol agents were armed with food and water for migrants making the trek to seek asylum? And what if instead of providing the software to CBP you opened an office in Honduras and employed people there? We are asking you to draw a line in the sand for the ethics of technology, where the racist head of our country cannot. Come to the right side of history and cancel the contract.85 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shannen Torres

Pass Texas House Bill 4201, Stop Mugshot Websites from profiting off of arrest photosWhile the State of Texas does protect the deceased it does not does not provide a statutory basis for right of publicity claims. On the 10th of March 2017, Representative Mary Ann Perez and Representative Gary W. Elkins proposed legislation that addressed the right of publicity. On the 3rd of April 2017 it was read for the first and was subsequently forwarded to the Business and Industry committee. Websites are publishing arrest booking photograph and charging fees for their removal. These website's siphon information from the sheriff's department databases under the Freedom of Information Act. Many of these victims are not guilty of any crime and are vindicated through the court system only to find that their record and mug shot is posted on the Internet causing irreparable damage and suffering resulting in making it difficult if not impossible to find employment. I was arrested and charged with a litany of felonies; all of which were not true, and all of which were immediately dismissed by the district attorney. I have over 20+ years, an undergraduate degree, a master’s degree, and a successful career that had progressively moved forward. I have been looking at a job but cannot find one. Despite paying over $1500 and providing the case resolution information to a number of these sites, my mug shot and information is still found on the web, and remains at the head of any internet search of my name. I am not alone; 808,634 individuals were arrested in the State of Texas in 2016 (http://www.dps.texas.gov/crimereports/16/citCh9.pdf) It is imperative that the State of Texas legislature take HB 4201 from the 85(R) 2017 session out of committee and pass this bill, protecting the citizens of this state from having their reputations ruined by extortionists website operators hiding be hind the Freedom of Information act. references: https://capitol.texas.gov/billlookup/text.aspx?LegSess=81R&Bill=HB4201 http://rightofpublicity.com/statutes/texas http://rightofpublicity.com/ Florida : http://www.scribd.com/doc/58921958/An-Investigation-Of-arrests-org#download Texas : http://www.fwweekly.com/2011/11/09/an-ugly-business/ Ohio : http://www.toledoblade.com/Courts/2012/12/05/Web-sites-profiting-from-mug-shots-sued-fees-charged-to-remove-online-images.html California : http://digitalcommons.law.scu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1555&context=chtlj http://www.citmedialaw.org/legal-guide/north-carolina-right-publicity-law http://www.newyorkpersonalinjuryattorneyblog.com/category/kyle-prall http://www.citmedialaw.org/blog/2011/mugshot-racket-paying-keep-public-records-less-public http://www.fwweekly.com/2011/11/09/an-ugly-business/ https://corporate.findlaw.com/litigation-disputes/right-of-publicity.html https://www.americanbar.org/content/dam/aba/administrative/litigation/materials/2015_intellectual_property_lit/materials/the_right_of_publicity_article_rosenthal.authcheckdam.pdf6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Richard Reichle, MRP

Return the Remains of Jamal Khashoggi to His FamilyThe Saudi government admits that Jamal Khashoggi was murdered in its consulate in Istanbul, Turkey by its own agents but has yet to offer any official indications about the fate of his body. So added to the terrible grief felt by the family over the murder is their humiliation as they cannot even offer a proper burial for their loved one. Khashoggi’s family is not alone in this suffering. At the start of 2016, Sheikh Nimr al Nimr was executed and his body never given to his family for burial. In fact, this cruel practice of not returning a body of an executed prisoner or of someone killed in a police raid is estimated to have taken place over 30 times in the last two years. It is brutal and immoral and should stop. The U.S. government which counts the Saudi monarchy as a close ally must pressure the Saudi government to release the body of Khashoggi. He was a resident of the United States and a journalist for one of the U.S.’ most famous newspapers. Certainly, our government which sells the Saudis so many weapons and supports its war in Yemen has enormous influence over the kingdom and can demand this act of decency.70 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stanley Heller
