Pads, tampons, and cups are necessary for women's health, if there are no taxes on food because it is a need, why should there be taxes on supplies which are pertinent for the health of women? Women are discriminated against because of their menstrual cycle, which is natural and uncontrollable. The amount of money that is added by sales taxes can make an essential product for women not affordable to those who struggle financially.

I have never been so ashamed to be American as when our Government officials spoke to another world leader with those insulting remarks. At any other time in our history they would both have been fired immediately.

We are horrified and embarrassed by the attacks on our good friend, Canada, and its Prime Minister, apparently in an attempt to look stronger going into the negotiations with North Korea. Instead of stronger, he has succeeded in making himself look irrational.

Earlier this month, two hundred federal immigration enforcement agents descended upon Corso’s Flower and Garden Centers in Sandusky and Castalia, Ohio, with machine guns and K-9 dogs as helicopters circled overhead. They were there to arrest and deport Ohioans who work hard and love their families, accusing them of immigration violations. All told, 114 Corso’s workers were arrested by ICE during the aggressive, SWAT-style operation. Just a week later, they struck AGAIN, this time at a meatpacking plant in Massillon, Ohio, where another 100 agents arrested more than 100 workers. Kirstjen Nielsen is the head of the Department of Homeland Security, and is responsible for running Donald Trump’s turbo-charged deportation machine. Rebecca Adducci is the Field Office Director for Detroit ICE, with control over operations in Michigan and Ohio. Not only is she responsible for utilizing an outrageous show of government force in order to arrest and deport humble workers, but she has presided over the systematic separation of Ohio and Michigan families ever since the Trump Administration took office. Raids like the one in Sandusky, Castalia, and Massillon are destroying Ohio and Michigan families, and those of us who disagree with what’s happening need to stand up and say it! Good morning, We have spent many hours trying to get our local providers to give us internet service, but we have not been successful. We live at 2609 Branch Road, Raleigh NC 27610. Spectrum is the cable provider and AT&T the phone service and DSL providers. AT&T refuses because their lines are old and crappy and won't hold the DSL signal, so they now refuse to give us service saying we would take away from others instead of saying it would cost them too much to repair their crappy lines. Spectrum refuses to run line saying it is not cost effective to provide our few homes and businesses service even though they are the "only" provider allowed in our area. Other service providers have told us repeatedly, Spectrum is your provider and it is their area. At the end of the day, we pay hundreds of dollars to Version to get 1 Meg service and it is slightly better than dial up. If providers can get 10-15 Meg service to mountain tops, why can't they get it to us being 9 miles from downtown Raleigh. These greedy companies will take the gravy and screw the rest of us were it would cost them a little to get us service and not give them huge profits. We are at risk in a fire!

Last week I introduced legislation to prohibit the Trump Administration from indiscriminately separating immigrant kids from their parents. I believe Congress has a moral obligation to stand up and stop the federal government from ripping children from the arms of their parents. We should be in the business of keeping families together, not tearing them apart. Many of these families are fleeing violence and instability in search of security and safety here in the United States. It’s wrong to traumatize these kids further. Congress must take action right now.

Scott Pruitt’s EPA is trying to censor science. He wants to exclude important studies from decisions affecting our air, water, and health. Specifically, he would make it easier for the Trump administration to weaken clean air safeguards by excluding critical research about pollution’s impact on our health. This is the same tactic the tobacco industry used to "prove" cigarettes aren’t harmful to our health. We can’t let Pruitt’s EPA get away with it! Add your name: Tell the EPA to side with science, not Trump and Scott Pruitt!

Because sports should unite us and help us rise above petty politics. Corporations bowing to this type of behavior is the exact opposite of what global sporting competitions like the World Cup are trying to accomplish. Nike should help heal these divisions not exacerbate them.

My son Zeph Pitt, has a number of medical issues,. When he was arrested, over 3 years ago, he had just been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, had a torn A/C joint in his shoulder; a mass in one testicle, with pain and swelling, and degenerative disc disease with osteoarthritis. He was transferred to four facilities during the two and a half years awaiting sentencing. Each move meant starting over as medical records do not follow the inmate! Now sentenced to a federal facility so remote, it is not near any adequate medical treatment. It has been over 7 months and no MRI yet. It took almost 9 months to get the MRI at the first jail in 2015. His labs show the Hepatitis is getting worse; but no treatment is being given. The muscles in his right bicep and chest muscles are atrophying, which causes great weakness on the right side. And just as an aside, it took 4 months to get approved for a tooth cleaning. and the approval letter stated it would be a 12 or 18 month wait for the dental care. The worst part of course, is he didn't even go out and commit a crime! (Not just a Mom being blinded.) He made dumb choices long ago, as a young man, paid the price, and had no intention of breaking the law... Long story, we have an appeal in the works, but meanwhile I'd like to keep him alive so he can get a chance to be the man he wants his children to know

As a father, who regularly spends quality time with his child without his spouse I find it difficult to bring them to certain places. It is difficult because there are no changing tables in most mens restrooms. I want to make it mandatory to have them in every mens restroom.
