• DON'T Appoint Collin Dias To the Fall River Wattupa Water Board
This petition is being started to protect the taxpayers of Fall River from having to pay for poor decisions made due to political differences. Colin Dias has shown, numerous times, that he is unable to make informed decisions. Dias has shown, through articles written for Southcoast Media, that he has a bias against many of the elected officials in our city. I believe that this would create a conflict that could negatively affect Fall River taxpayers. Dias would likely make decisions to prevent duly elected officials from executing the job the citizens elected them to do. Additionally, Dias' petition to get appointed to the Fall River Wattupa Water Board appears to be an attempt to force Mayor Correia to appoint him or face accusations of not having appointed Dias due to his relationship with Former Mayor Flanagan.

  • Appoint Collin Dias to the Fall River Watuppa Water Board
The Mayors office sent out a press release to the public stating they want the residents of the city to take part in the local city government. One opening is on the Watuppa Water Board. Please consider signing this petition to support the appointment Collin Dias to this Board. Collin supports utilizing Fall Rivers drinking water for ways that benefit the common person, and not large companies and corporations. Collin also supports branding Fall River as a city that is pro environment. We live in a society where drinking water must be preserved, so Collin will vigerously oversee the handeling and matenience of our drinking water and make sure our pipes and filters are up to date. Lastly Collin has optimistic ideas and strategies to utilize Fall Rivers drinking water without taking a risk of polluting our water. Collin understands the concerns of the tax payers and will not support raising fees except in a last resort.

  • Demand that Rep. Daniel Webster give back or donate the $35,349 he received from the NRA.
According to a poll taken this past spring by the Pew Research Center, 89% of Republicans favor preventing the mentally ill from purchasing guns, 82% favor barring gun purchases by people on no-fly or watch lists, 77% favor background checks for private sales and at gun shows, 56% favor creating a federal database to track gun sales, and 54% favor banning assault-style weapons. (Source: "Here are the gun control policies that majorities in both parties support," Ryan Struyk, CNN, Nov. 6, 2017) Even faced with these poll numbers from members of his own party, Rep. Webster has continued to let the NRA control his vote. It's time to stop gun lobby bribery and start protecting human lives.

  • Maine Lawmakers: Protect Our Ocean and Shoreline
The Trump administration has shown a disregard for the environment that must be countered by dedicated citizens and lawmakers . It is vitally important that Maine's pristine beauty and unique ecological balance be protected and preserved now and into the future. Drilling off shore presents a danger to the environment, people of our state, and the tourism on which we depend. Please prevent off shore drilling.

  • Mass Health
I, like thousands of others, am losing vital specialists needed for ongoing care because of the changes recently made to Mass Health. There is no continuity of care allowed, creating a disruption of care. Not all specialists in the new plan are adequate replacements. The Behavioral Healthcare is almost non-existent, with nothing yet in place for the effective start date of March 1st.

  • Fire the cruel border guards vandalizing water supplies
United States border patrol agents routinely vandalise containers of water and other supplies left in the Arizona desert for migrants, condemning people to die of thirst in baking temperatures, according to two humanitarian groups. In a report published on Wednesday, the Tucson-based groups said the agents committed the alleged sabotage with impunity in an attempt to deter and punish people who illegally cross from Mexico. Volunteers found water gallons vandalised 415 times, on average twice a week, in an 800 sq mile patch of Sonoran desert south-west of Tucson, from March 2012 to December 2015, the report said. The damage affected 3,586 gallons. The report came amid renewed rancour in Washington over Donald Trump’s desire to build a border wall and his alleged racism towards non-white immigrants. Congress is scrambling to reach a deal on immigration and border security before federal funding expires on Friday, raising the spectre of a government shutdown. In addition to building a wall Trump wishes to hire another 5,000 border patrol agents. Help by signing this petition to let the government know we Americans object to this horrible cruelty. • Keep Nelly Home!
**UPDATE: The "Department of Homeland Security" has changed Nelly's deportation date to February 28th. After informing Nelly on February 9th that she had been granted a stay- which would have allowed her to have her case heard in court, the "Department of Homeland Security" reversed it's decision and 4 days later gave a new deportation day. The Department of Homeland Security is at it again. Nelly Cumbicos has never had a chance to have her case heard by Immigration. Nelly and her family just want her to have her day in court. Nelly’s story, like so many immigrant stories, is part of what makes America resilient and strong. She fled Ecuador in 2000 under death threats and was captured and kidnapped by bandits, who then had an automobile accident with a car full of immigrants in the US. ICE sent Nelly to join her family in Connecticut with a promise to be in touch with her. Nelly had no more contact with ICE until 2015 when she applied for citizenship. In 2018, Nelly was given a deportation date. Nelly is not a criminal. She’s our neighbor. She’s our friend. She is a kind and proud mother of a 15-year-old honor student. And Nelly is absolutely no threat to national security. According to her friends, Nelly warms your heart with her smile and charisma. Her love is endless for her neighbors, friends, and family. Nelly is the first one to volunteer for cleaning duties at her church and provides food for Sunday service to nourish the members of her community. Tell ICE and the Department of Homeland Security to stop destroying families!
