  • Add a Disclaimer to All Reality Television Programming!
Over the past decade there has been an increase in reality and unscripted television due to the low production costs and high profit margins. But behind the scenes, reality television producers and networks are earning millions while exploiting cast members and manipulating reality. And these tactics can skew people’s perspective and have a negative impact on mental health—both for viewers and cast members. It’s important that the public understand the truth behind reality television—that it is not an accurate depiction of reality and instead often features coerced reactions, misleading editing, and orchestrated plots. In fact, many of these “unscripted” shows are highly scripted, and the lack of transparency creates a distorted reality that can be harmful for everyone involved. It's not just producers who are profiting off of these lies—streaming companies are also capitalizing off of them. Netflix, for example, not only has an extensive reality television library but is also producing original content. Demand that major streaming companies and reality television producers take accountability and prioritize public transparency. Ask that all reality and unscripted television include a disclaimer: “Episodes are for entertainment purposes only, and the content can be edited, manipulated, and presented in any order for storyline purposes.”

  • West Guertin Street Residents ONLY
As residents of West Guertin Street, we have been subjected to large amounts of gravel dust and deteriorating road conditions since construction began on our road last Winter. This is a heavily traveled route by locals, farmers and truck drivers alike, making their way to Indiana and as a shortcut to Interstate 65. Gravel roads are not intended to handle traffic of this magnitude. The dust clouds that this non-stop traffic has produced and continues to produce are detrimental to our health. We are breathing this into our lungs, day and night. Many of our neighbors suffer from allergies and asthma, making the dust an even more critical issue for them. Because of the dust, we cannot open our windows, sit on our porches, swim in our pools, enjoy our yards, hang clothes on the line. Our gas and electric bills have increased because of the constant air conditioner/furnace use. Our grass, trees, bushes and flower gardens are all covered in a thick layer of gray dust. When we do yardwork, it gets kicked up. Grit gets into our eyes. Due to the deteriorating road conditions, when the larger vehicles pass through, at speeds exceeding the posted speed limit, chunks of road are being thrown into yards, damaging personal property, including our cars and our homes, along with endangering our safety. As Summer comes to an end and Harvest is on the horizon, we expect traffic to double and conditions to worsen. We are asking that urgently needed changes be made to how the heavy traffic flow is handled to improve our air quality and overall quality of life on West Guertin Street until this construction is complete.

  • Stop MN from Killing Training Businesses
It starts with a handful of people and small businesses that the state government thinks it can cut out and run out of business, but where will it stop? They can not be allowed to get away with unfairly competing with small business in the state and causing more problems.

  • Bar insurrectionists from office under the U.S. Constitution!
The political leaders who participated in the Insurrection—including the intimidation of election officials, the fake elector scheme, and the January 6, 2021 siege on the U.S. Capitol—must be held accountable and prevented from engaging in future attacks on our Democracy. The forces of political violence, disinformation, autocracy, and bigotry that drove the 1/6 Insurrection continue to pose grave threats to our country today. And while many of the rioters who stormed the Capitol have been held accountable, the vast majority of political leaders who actively undermined our Democracy and our Constitution have not. A large number of those individuals are current office holders or candidates for office. Barring or removing Insurrectionists from office is one important step toward preventing future attacks on our Constitution and laws. The U.S. Constitution is clear on this question: Section 3 of the 14th Amendment declares that anyone who previously held public office and then engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the United States is disqualified from holding future office unless two-thirds of Congress removes that bar. State and Federal officials have the power—indeed, the obligation—to uphold the 14th Amendment based on documented facts.

  • LIVE streaming of Ono Island POA Meetings
Many of us would attend more board meetings if it were at a time that we could attend. For many neighbors, they don’t even reside here for part of the year. EVERY homeowner should be able to attend these meetings EVERY month. Inclusion of the community would actually promote trust and more volunteers. The POA is made up of much more than the 11 people that sit around the table. We elected them, but WE are the POA too. WE gave them the seat at the table, WE deserve a seat in the audience.
