To The Court Officials Of SouthHaven MS: Remove Former Officer Connor Schilling From The Road & H...Former Memphis police officer Connor Schilling appeared in a Southaven courtroom on Wednesday on DUI charges following an arrest on July 13. Schilling, 28, did not speak in court and would not talk to reporters outside the courtroom. His case has been rescheduled for Nov. 29. On July 17, 2015, Schilling was a three-year veteran of the MPD when he shot and killed 19-year-old Darrius Stewart after a minor traffic stop. Stewart was a passenger in the vehicle. According to the Southaven arrest report, a caller alerted the police that a blue GMC Sierra pickup was "all over the road, " that the driver might be driving under the influence and that the vehicle was heading into the Taco Bell on Church Road. Officer Whitney Walley arrived at the Taco Bell shortly before 1 a.m. and saw Schilling as he drove away from the drive-through and occupied two spaces in the parking lot. Walley noted that Schilling smelled of alcohol, had red watery bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and swayed when he stood. Schilling told the officer he'd had four beers. Among the items found in his pickup was an empty pint bottle of Jim Beam whiskey. Bond was set at $500. He has entered a plea of not guilty and is being represented by Anthony Farese. Schilling is now living in Nesbit, Mississippi. After the Stewart shooting, Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich recommended that Schilling be charged with voluntary manslaughter and using a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. But a grand jury did not indict him and a federal review of the shooting ended with insufficient evidence to support charges. Schilling has since retired on disability due to post-traumatic stress disorder, which has been attributed to the shooting. Earlier this month Schilling was deposed in a federal lawsuit filed by Stewart's family. Not his first DUI arrest Schilling was charged with DUI on July 5, 2014, and was suspended by the MPD for 18 days. According to department records, he was arrested at the scene, but the charges were dropped when the arresting officer failed on two occasions to appear in court. Schilling was also accused by a woman of using excessive force during a July 30, 2013, traffic stop. The woman filed a complaint and claimed she was bruised and that Schilling put a knot on her head. Enough is Enough.....!! He is a Danger To The Public! Former Police Officer Connor Schilling was Sworn to protect and Serve He Should Know The Law and Should Be Punished. Our streets Must Be safe for Our Children, Our Elderly and Our Disabled! He should Go to Jail!11,400 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Lakeesha

From operating on the side of the highway to operating on city streets no one cares unless they see the 3 colors of oh crap; those colors are Red/White/Blue. I want to protect my fellow Wreckmasters not only for us as the operators but also for the loved ones and family tied to that individual.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen

Ann Arbor Demands Police Oversight & Alternatives to PolicingI'm an Ann Arbor resident and mother who is insulted that our City Council spent $230k of our tax dollars to fund a biased and unscientific study by a consulting firm of former police officers. The A2 City Council needs to stop wasting time and money and take leadership to establish a police review board that is representative, transparent, independent, empowered, grounded in restorative practices, and adequately funded, and to redirect resources to crucial alternatives to policing. Go to this link http://bit.ly/2jlJMRz to read the 11/16 statement from community members who have formed Transforming Justice Washtenaw to advocate for heart-based and restorative alternatives to policing and incarceration in Washtenaw County.395 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Julie Quiroz

Pass the Fur Ban in San Francisco! The San Francisco Board of Supervisors will be considering a ban on the sale fur in the next few months. Sign the petition to let the Mayor know you support the ban. Together, let’s make fur history! -- Over 50 million animals are exploited and killed for their fur each year. These animals are sentient beings who feel pain, can suffer, and want to live. Mink, foxes, and rabbits are confined in tiny wire cages inside of fur farms where they go insane from boredom, stress, and lack of stimulation. Many are killed in grotesque and brutal ways, including anal and vaginal electrocution. Coyotes and other wild animals are caught in leg-hold traps and suffer slow, agonizing deaths. Practices like these have no place in a progressive city like San Francisco. We are calling on the city to ban the sale of fur, as West Hollywood and Berkeley have already done. There exist numerous alternatives that are equally as warm, better for the environment, and do not require killing animals.1,022 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Direct Action Everywhere

Senate and house: call out hate crimes against Muslim AmericansMuslim Americans have come under discrimination since President Trump was inaugurated in January. According to a data analysis, the number of anti-Muslim hate crimes in the United States rose 91 percent in the first half of the year compared with the same period in 2016, according to a leading Muslim advocacy and civil rights group. People should tell their members of Congress to call out anti-Muslim hate by visiting a mosque and assuring Muslim-Americans that they are welcome here. This why I made a petition to the United States Senate and U.S. House of Representatives to make sure these hate crimes stop.1,000 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Abraham Alrai

Second chance for Leon JohnsonMy name is Leon Johnson and I'm currently an inmate at Calhoun State Prison in Morgan, GA. I've been sentenced to life plus 5 yrs imprisonment with the eligibility of parole. I was convicted of a crime I committed when I was 17 years old. I made a grave mistake for which I am deeply sorry. My actions cause pain to a lot of people and impacted those I never even met. Shaped me into the Man I am today. I have an understanding of what's really important in my life, and I know I deserve a chance to show what's within.217 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Leon A Johnson

The Only Solution to Our State's Budget CutsI want to see Oklahoma become a competitive state. Our state budget shortfalls are causing many serious problems for its citizens. I have suffered opiate addiction due to several surgeries in hospitals. It was so difficult for me to suffer withdrawal on my own, but I did. Now my doctors want to do three more surgeries but I won't comply. I'm also a retired school teacher. Our education stinks because of lack of funding. Its time to learn from Dr. Gupta and legalize this so that our state can fix its financial problems while offering relief to many who would benefit.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Melodie Mughrbi

Tell the FCC to keep the internet free and accessible for allMore than 700,000 Californians — and more than 8 million Americans — have already submitted comments in response to the FCC’s misguided proposal, including myself. Our message has been clear: broadband providers must not be allowed to tilt the playing field by blocking or throttling their competitors, prioritizing their offerings, or otherwise unreasonably interfering with lawful content. The basic principle of net neutrality is that access to all websites and web services should be treated equally — that anyone can start their own website and make it accessible to anyone with internet access. What the FCC wants to do is empower broadband service providers — the gatekeepers of the internet — to potentially distort the online marketplace and set up a pay-for-play system. This would be a terrible mistake that would hurt the most vulnerable and voiceless among us. It will imperil our economy while reducing innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity. I have confidence that if enough of us come together in the next several weeks, we can make our voices heard and save the internet.216,165 of 300,000 SignaturesCreated by Senator Kamala Harris

Wesley Heights Rezoning Petition 2017-159Hello. I’d like to voice opposition and concern regarding Rezoning Petition 2017-159 in Historic Wesley Heights. This petition is not appropriate for our neighborhood, sets an unequivocally bad precedent for further rezoning requests, and puts our small historic district in jeopardy. Historic integrity, home values, and zoning standards are on the line for Charlotte during this unprecedented time of growth. I have listed some of my concerns below. I ask you, as my representative and community partner, to OPPOSE Rezoning Petition 2017-159. OPPOSE Rezoning Petition 2017-159 in Historic Wesley Heights because: 1.) Historic Community Erosion is a real problem. Wesley Heights is already one of the smallest Historic Districts in Charlotte. This rezoning would further erode the district further and establish more pressure for further historic district erosion in Historic Wesley Heights and other limited Historic Districts. Keeping the character of this small community should be a priority for the City of Charlotte. 2.) A redistrict to Multi-Use allows for property boundary reshaping. A redistrict would allow structures to be built closer to the property lines than neighboring historic homes. 3.) Changing the zoning of residential properties into MUDD & B-01 is not in keeping with historic character of the community. These properties are inside of the Historic Boundaries approved by the Wesley Heights Community in 1994. 4.) Bad precedent. Developers will continue to put pressure on this community as the area becomes more and more desirable. Historic Wesley Heights implores the Planning Department, Historic District Commission, Historic Landmarks Commission and City Council to encourage developers to respect historically designated districts. 5.) Why couldn’t other Charlotte residents build condos in their backyards? Petition 2017-159 builds condos not only in the “backyards” of existing historic homes but also builds them against adjoining properties thus destroying their historic context and value. Cities like Austin, TX are running into issues where residents are creating backyard rental units due to lack of zoning restrictions which has created enormous conflict in the city. Would this rezoning create a bad precedent for the City of Charlotte? 6.) Structures on new property line inhibit privacy of neighboring historic homes. 7.) The owner/building group owns several properties in Historic Wesley Heights already (potential future petitions for rezoning). If the council does not oppose this petition request, the owner could then try to rezone other properties within Historic Wesley Heights. Rezone Petition 2017-159 is on property that borders non-Historic District areas. The owner could potentially be testing the waters for future rezoning of other properties thus further eroding the district. 8.) Destroys historic requirements as well as the Historic Neighborhood’s look, feel, charm, and consistency. Adjacent properties will have the historic nature of their property destroyed by this rezoning. This could have major negative impacts to property values of adjacent properties. This effectively nullifies some Historic District Commission requirements that must be adhered to by neighboring residents, such as limitations on the percentage of land that can be developed, etc. Residents who live within these districts must follow strict guidelines and pay fees to make changes or modifications to the structures and landscaping. Changing zoning of properties within the existing historic district is unfair to all of those who have followed the guidelines, invested in their homes, and adhered to the specific rules within the district. The reason we adhere to these rules is to maintain the value and character of our homes. 9.) Increases traffic and parking in an area of Walnut Street already struggling with traffic and parking. Traffic and parking are already a problem on the edges of the Wesley Heights Community due to new businesses, apartments and the bustling W. Morehead Street Corridor and soon to be bustling West Trade Street Corridor. 10.) Enormous Risk to small undeveloped lots within Historic Wesley Heights. Some of our neighbors build new houses. However, they build them within the guidelines of the Historic Commission and so the new home is period appropriate to Wesley Height’s initial boom. A rezoning of the existing historic property could mean future rezone petitions, further degradation of Historic Standards, and continued historic district (and home value) erosion. 11.) Wesley Heights welcomes development, but not at the expense of our charming Historic Neighborhood. There are plenty of other opportunities to develop in Charlotte and even areas outside yet adjacent to our Historic neighborhood without disturbing the protected communities showcasing a different time in the history of our city. 12.) The community wants to retain the Historic character of Historic Wesley Heights with historic single family homes, duplexes and quadraplexes that already exist. We do not want to see residential homes turned into mixed use developments within the historic boundaries of Wesley Heights. It is contradictory to the Historic Designation. 13.) Historic Wesley Heights is galvanized by this issue. Residents in this historic district and our surrounding neighborhood partners are unified in its plea – we do not want rezoning or erosion of the integrity of our historic neighborhood.325 of 400 SignaturesCreated by meredith Wailes

Washington DC Ethics CommitteIn order for public to know what the government decisions are we should know. Also we should have US citizens that are not government employees sitting on some of these committees, and helping the US citizens to have input into each and every subject that is discussed. I for one was on an Ethics committee for a business, and all citizens should have input from private citizens not in the government. A sure way to hold the government accountable to standards they should have to the US citizens.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by BETTY WEILAND
