• Hands Off Our Healthcare Access
Now more than ever we need your help here in South Bend! We Congresswoman Jackie Walorski has launched a vicious attack on our reproductive rights by personally contacting the Indiana State Health Commissioner and requested that she deny South Bend a new health clinic. 70% of Americans believe women should have access to safe and legal abortions. With increasing medically-unnecessary regulations that impose an undue burden on a woman’s access to abortion, Indiana patients are forced to travel across state lines for the nearest clinic, turning them into medical refugees. Use of contraception, especially the most effective methods like IUDs and implants, does much more to reduce abortion rates than restrictive laws and denial of care. Recently, a non-profit organization that is committed to providing holistic reproductive health options, to include abortion care, as well as leading communities in advocacy, culture change, and education to eradicate abortion stigma has stepped forward in our community and they are ready to open a clinic in South Bend, Indiana. "We the undersigned support the legal and safe access to all forms of Reproductive Healthcare in South Bend, Indiana and ask Rep. Walorski to respect our bodies, our rights, and our choices. We believe women should become medical refugees by being forced to travel across state lines for reproductive health care." #ProtectOurCare

  • Tell Mayor Don Grebien: No New Garbage Transfer Station in Pawtucket
Pawtucket residents and small businesses have been dumped on long enough. We were not consulted. We had no say in this. Increased odor, rodents, traffic and environmental hazards are things that residents and small businesses ought to be consulted about but instead, the plan for this dirty monstrosity was pushed through secretly by Pawtucket's mayor.

  • Tell the FTC to stop Facebook from buying up more companies until they’ve conducted a thorough in...
The FTC’s role is to promote and safeguard competition, and the actions it has allowed by Facebook in recent history has clearly failed that obligation. They have broad legal authority to look into companies using their massive networks to stifle competition, and Facebook clearly fits that description. When Intragram presented a viable competitor to Facebook’s social media presence, they paid $1 billion to acquire them. When WhatsApp began competing against Facebook’s Messenger platform, Facebook spent $19 billion to stamp down on their potential competition. Facebook even developed a program, called Onavo, that uses user data to detect potentially competing services that Facebook users commonly utilize. Outside of the clear privacy concerns, this makes obvious to everyone that Facebook is using their social network to actively copy and undermine any fast-growing competitors. Sign this petition to stand up against using a massive market share to crush competitors, and for a fair and open dialogue about protecting our democracy.

  • NRA: Pay the Las Vegas shooting victims medical bills
Victims may not be able to pay their extreme medical and rehab expenses from this shooting because the NRA & congress are responsible for making billions from gun sales with no real gun control laws. These people should not have to suffer severe financial losses because there is no control over the NRA and it's profit machine.

  • BREAKING: Manafort indicted -- now take this action
Paul Manafort, President Trump's ex-campaign chair, was just indicted in Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling. We need to make sure the President can't fire Mueller in retaliation -- which he's already considered doing. Congress must take action IMMEDIATELY to ensure Trump can't interfere in Mueller's investigation. Investigations into criminal enterprises take time -- these are the first, but probably not the last criminal charges filed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's attempts to interfere in our elections, and whether Trump or his associates obstructed justice to cover it up. We must be prepared for anything. Trump has already considered firing Mueller -- which would trigger a constitutional crisis like we haven't seen since Watergate. The indictment of his former campaign chair is sure to trigger another backlash from Trump. Congress must put country over party and act now to protect Mueller's independence, and prevent Trump from firing him. It must send a signal that any interference in the investigation crosses a red line. Right now, senators and representatives are considering bipartisan legislation that would limit President Trump's ability to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller or otherwise interfere with his investigation: the Special Counsel Integrity Act and the Special Counsel Independence Protection Act. We *must* use this moment to make Congress acts and passes these bills into law. Tell your members of Congress to add their names as co-sponsors of the bipartisan legislation to protect Mueller.

  • Give YMLA What It's Earned & Deserves, A Full & Complete School
The Fort Worth Young Men's Leadership Academy (YMLA) has established an exceptional record of high academic performance. These young men continue to make the grade. Also, YMLA is a 5A school with a successful athletic program. Yet, the FWISD Long Range Master Facilities Plan requires them to share the athletic facility belonging to another school. This would leave YMLA scholars with less than what they currently have, which is very little. YMLA wants to maintain its distinct identity as well. Funds for a long overdue, new school have been allocated in the 2017 Penny Swap/Bond Proposal. Please sign our petition if you agree that the scholars of YMLA deserve, and should be built, a full and complete school or renovate its current campus to include adequate facilities to support a full athletic program in addition to classrooms, labs, music and art departments.

  • Open campus at Mohonasen
Every student at Mohonasen has complained about school lunches or not being able to leave during a study hall. With an open campus, we would be able to go to a local chain of fast food or even go home until we had our next class.
