The purpose of this petition is to allow the public the ability to discover potential conflicts of interest that could affect the candidate's future work. Prior to the 2016 election, this has been a tradition but not a requirement. The truth is, we have two crises in the US Caribbean post Hurricanes Irma and Maria. The islands were destroyed by Irma and drowned by Maria. The University of Virgin Islands alone sustained significant damage, and at the time that I am writing this petition, their classes are suspended indefinitely. The institution is presently trying to raise almost $1,000,000 to feed, clothe, and house students and staff in recovery and rebuild their campuses so that classes can resume. If a voice is raised for USVI as it is for Puerto Rico, I believe UVI might twice exceed its goal. I believe that if progressives are going to make a lackluster disaster response for Puerto Rico a matter of racial victimization, leaving USVI out of the discussion all together is a "criminal" ignorance that handily contributes to the American spirit and climate of anti-Blackness. Please raise the profile of disaster relief efforts in the USVI so that these Americans are not invisible and forgotten.

This is a question that I hope is not answered for Me by Our State Representatives..... I speak for the people who are Chronic Pain sufferers that have no idea how they will function on a daily basis without pain medication. The Pride Fund’s agenda is what we all know just makes sense: Expand background checks to cover all gun sales. Prohibit suspected terrorists from purchasing guns. Restrict access to assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Support federally funded research on gun violence. And prevent those convicted of committing hate crimes from purchasing guns. Our mission is to turn tragedy into action by raising and spending money to elect Democrats at the state and federal levels who support common sense gun reforms and champion LGBTQ equality. This issue is clearly more timely than ever with the mass shooting that happened in Las Vegas. More than 50 innocent people lost their lives. More than 500 innocent people were wounded. Our entire state and country was impacted. Common sense gun control, and banning devices such as bump stocks, like the one used in Sunday's tragedy, should be a top priority. Our senators should be beholden to the citizens they serve, not to the NRA and other such organizations.
