    The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation Congress ever passed. Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of it. Right away, many states, including my state of Idaho, passed mandatory Voter ID laws, despite few incidents of voter fraud.   • Restore the Voter Rights Act
    I think that everyone has the right to vote, and that shouldn't be taken away from us. It's sad that people fought and are still fighting today for everyone's right to vote. So, I want to make it equal for everyone, no matter what party they're associated with. Because if these laws keep on coming into effect, in the famous words of Langston Hughes, voting rights will "dry up like a raisin in the sun." Our concept of democracy and rights as voters would be gone forever. We will be going backward instead of forward as a country.
