• Rep. Payne,Jr: Support Citizens Voting Rights
Over the years, your vote has often elected the candidates of your choice. It has made you feel that said candidates had an obligation to you to live up their campaign promises..... and that you have the right to hold them responsible if they don't. It made you feel powerful and important.... it is the power of" Choice". It lets you know that as long as you have a "Vote" you have a "Voice". Now more than ever that vote allows us to keep good people in office and remove those that we deem unworthy. It is one of the things that separates us from a "Dictatorship". Now what if you lost your power to "vote"? What if you lost your power to choose the candidate of your "choice"? What if you lost the power to choose where you will live, how your children will be educated, what religion you practice..........and even who you can marry? Well, if the "Voting Rights Amendment Act" of 2014(VRA) is not passed then some people may lose their vote, their freedom of "Choice".

  • Rep. Mike Simpson: Support Voting Rights
The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation Congress has ever passed. Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of it. Right now, Congress can restore those protections by passing this important bill. Rep. Smith should support this effort by cosponsoring and fighting for a strong bill.

  • Vote for Voters' Rights!
My personal reason for this petition is this: College students whom I teach need to have the same access to voting, their American right, as other citizens. Other petition signers have their own reasons. You are our representative. Please cosign the VRA of 2014.

  • Rep. Ryan: Voting Rights Amendment act 2014
We have already seen restriction of voting rights in Texas and North Carolina as a result as last year's Supreme Court ruling that weakened provisions of the Voting Rights Act. These protections need to be restored to ensure fair elections in all of our states. We believe that you should cosponsor and support passage of this legislation.
