• Internet Privacy
We are constantly monitored, recorded, and under surveillance by both the Government and private companies/corporations who sell our identities and personal information. The Government monitors us under the guise of security, but we should not let our right to privacy be trampled. Like the saying goes, give a mouse a cookie and he wants a glass of milk. Protect your rights and hold them dearly for they are all that separates us from the rest of the world. We are the United States of America, land of the free!

  • Voting Day Reform
In 2012, in the age of iPads, Facebook, and Coursera, it is absurd that we have such archaic voting procedures. We can watch the elections results on 3D holograms and touch screen jumbo monitors, yet we have citizens waiting in line for hours in inclement weather with various issues all across the country. While I simply walked up to hand in my vote by mail ballot with no problems, I saw in real time through news and social media the very real problems people were facing. The problems are real with many possible solutions- online voting, early voting, voting day as a national holiday, etc. Let's hold President Obama and Congress accountable. As the President said in his acceptance speech on November 6th, 2012, "by the way, we have to fix that." This should not be an after thought. We can not wait four more years to work on this. Reform voting procedures now.

  • Immigration Reform
I am a organizer and I have seen the immigration issue not being address by President Obama. In this past election 75% of Latinos voted for him and 73% of Asians also supported him. It is time to pay attention to this issue and fix it.

  • Ratify the ERA.
Our government needs to put the seal of approval and authority on the ERA so that equal pay for equal work is the law, and to stand behind women in their quest for equal treatment under the law.

  • Petition to Stop Raining Death with Flying Robots
"The Bureau of Investigative Journalism reports that from June 2004 through mid-September 2012, available data indicate that drone strikes killed 2,562 - 3,325 people in Pakistan, of whom 474 - 881 were civilians, including 176 children. TBIJ reports that these strikes also injured an additional 1,228 - 1,362 individuals." - From a Stanford/NYU study Killing and injuring civillians by drone strike is surrending any moral high ground in the struggle against terrorism. It incites terror and provokes innocents to hatred. This cannot be the will of the US Citizenry.

  • Make national elections more problem free and voter friendly in all states .
Here in the Northwest, we have mail in ballots for all our elections sent to us weeks in advance, where we can read the issues and vote comfortably at home at our leisure and return by mail or dropping off by a deadline for counting. Sadly, many other states have various rules, times, restrictions, abuse of voters with intimidation, technical issues, faulty machines, long lines outside after working people maybe work all day, disabled, ill, lack transportation, unreasonable ID requirements, etc. Pass a natinal voting standard to be used by all states in future national elections for congress , senate and president, that will encourage voter participation by being more voter friendly with adequate adequate safeguards against abuse of the voters and honesty and accuracy of results that are varifiable .

  • Call to adress Poverty & Labor
With Obama's re-election, I believe it's time to call on him to work with leading labor activists and those interested in erradicating Poverty (like JIll Stein and Cornell West) for the next four years if Pres.Obama is really vested in re-building the middle class of this country

  • Let's Stay Together with Barack Obama
Remember when Barack sang one line of "Let's Stay Together"at the Apollo? In it, Barack sings of his love for all: "I'm so in love with you." Politicians and celebrities proclaim their love all the time but not as convincingly as Barack Obama. The rest of the song, in its expanded form, conveys his desire to stay together. And he has asked that we come together, work together, stay together -- all through his presidency. The entreaty to stay together is so important now that we have coalesced around the president -- and will be even more important going forward. We can't just stand back and tell Barack Obama to do it all himself while we just watch. It's time that we stay together for the next four years and beyond. (The completed song can be found on YouTube: Let's Stay Together_Barack, Al, Tina at the Apollo http://youtu.be/kFOC1oFXe8w)
