Over 1/2 million legally registered voters in PA are at risk for losing their right to vote this November. Getting a Pennsylvania State ID is especially difficult for seniors, who in many cases have been voting legally for decades. PennDOT locations are not convenient for non-drivers and their hours are limited causing excessively long waits. We respectfully ask for a "stay of execution" of this law until after the election to give everyone the time to comply. Rep. Metcalfe said: "I don’t believe any legitimate voter that actually wants to exercise that right and takes on the according responsibility that goes with that right to secure their photo ID will be disenfranchised... If individuals are too lazy, the state can’t fix that." Yes, but maybe us, as voters, can fix stupid. This law doesn't stop fraud, it only stops voting. We cannot count on the Courts. The Dept of State keeps changing the requirements, confusing everyone. We, the people, have to take action so please sign and share so the PA assembly pays attention when it is delivered to them in Harrisburg next week. The Voter Protection Law

The national state of emergency enacted by President Bush on September 14th, 2001 in response to the events of 9/11 has been continued every year since, granting special powers to the President of the US, including the revocation of habeus corpus as well as affecting as many as 500 other statutory laws contingent upon a state of emergency. With Osama Bin Laden dead, and Al Qaeda's core leadership ranks destroyed, it's past time we restored the Constitution to its rightful place in our society and end the Constitution-shredding "national state of emergency." Please urge President Obama to end the national state of emergency and restore our Consititution as the law of the land.

This petition is against the current suppressive ID laws

A petition to demand that the Justice Department immediately begin legal proceedings against those states that are illegally trying to subvert the vote of millions of citizens, by trying to suppress their abilities to vote. This is a tactic by those states in question that is totally illegal given the civil rights act of 1964 and other legislation since.

Passed several decades ago when women, especially young women, were actively engaged in feminist issues, this Proclamation guaranteed our right to vote. From that point on, we thought we were equal. How many politicians wrote about this proclamation in your local papers?

Too many citizens are being killed because they might be mistaken for for a criminal or they are at the wrong place. This can happened to you or anyone. Police or sheriffs should be more cautious in applying deadly force when it is apparent their potential quarry is obviously unarmed and unable to inflict serious harm.

Following unprecedented Black voter turnout in Ohio during the 2008 presidential election, Republicans there have been looking for ways to diminish the Black community’s electoral power. Now, under the leadership of Secretary of State Jon Husted, they’ve turned to eliminating the opportunity to cast absentee ballots on weekends leading up to Election Day. This is a clear attempt to limit Black voters’ and other urban dwellers’ access to the polls. Join us in telling Husted to bring back weekend early voting hours so that all Ohioans have the opportunity to vote.

I wish to march on the US Supreme Court to get all local voter ID laws not recognizing proof or residency such as home, apartment, student ID, or tax address thrown out or put on hold for the duration of 2012. These laws do not recognize the civil right of all citizens to vote.
