DOL's Press Lock-ups Policy Could Restrict Press FreedomThe Sunshine in Government Initiative (SGI), a coalition of media organizations that includes the Online News Association, the world’s largest membership organization of digital journalists, is asking the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to reconsider its new Press Lock-ups Policy, which could "inhibit the quality, accuracy and independence of news reporting." Under the DOL’s new policy participants would be required to remove their software, hardware, and dedicated lines from the DOL by June 15, 2012. Reporters would be required to use only government-owned software and hardware. The use of modern news-producing software would be prohibited. All transmission would be via the internet, not via a secure, redundant line. The DOL would own and operate the data lines, internet access and internet connections. As the government grows more concerned about cybersecurity, the proposed policy would create a single point of failure. The letter asks the DOL to reconsider or delay implementing the policy until it receives more input from the public and affected media.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lourdes Fernandez

Protect religious rights when guaranteeing personal rightsConstitutional rights to freedom of religion may be at risk of dilution unless we carefully draw up laws or amendments intended to extend rights to individuals and groups. Both can be accommodated in regard to gay marriage much the same as objections to abortion are granted to individuals and churches. Providers of products and services must not have to choose between their jobs and consciences.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by George Wade

Tell Fox News to Give Reporter Chance to Apologize with Accurate, Updated StoryOn Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at about 9:50 p.m. on the access of Potranco and Hwy 151 in San Antonio, Texas, my brother, Abraham Valadez, was side-swiped by a black SUV while on his motorcycle. The motorist of the SUV stopped to see what they did and then sped off. The Fox News reporter (unknown) on the scene fabricated a story by reporting that my brother was joyriding. This is completely false. His main form of transportation is a motorcycle. The reporter never mentioned that there was a black SUV that changed lanes without signaling and by doing so hit my brother on his bike causing him to fly and tumble 3-4 times. He hit the curb on the island and as a result a part of the handlebar of his bike caught his hand and almost severed it. Does Fox have a habit of fabricating stories on the suffering of others? This is the response from the Asst. News Director of KABB-TV in San Antonio, TX, James Keith: Please accept our apologies for the poor reporting and for the unfortunate incident. We will address this with the employees who wrote the story. It's never our intention to report false information. Again, my apologies. Thanks for letting us know! James Keith Assistant News Director, KABB-TV (210) 442-6301 [email protected] Although it is never the "intention to report false information" from any news source, it is unfortunate that this happened and it would only be right to correct the error in an updated news story.295 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Jeremy Valadez

Eliminate State and Federal Rights for MarriageThe States and Federal Governments give hundreds of rights and benefits to those Americans who are married; single Americans deserve all the same equal rights and benefits. The Governments are discriminating against those Americans who are not married; single Americans pay taxes to the governments and do not receive equality and all the benefits; give equal access to all rights and benefits under the laws to all citizens or deny those who are married any special rights and benefits.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ellen Ray

Presidential Pardon for Scott Davis, of PA.Scott Davis was convicted of a "crime" which never even happened, in a series of Constitutional violations perpetrated at the behest of, and by, Attorney General Tom Corbett. The President DOES have the power to act on behalf of Scott Davis, as requested - and time is of the essence. Scott Davis is innocent, and should be exonerated and pardoned and compensated for damages by Executive orders of President Obama. This would benefit hundreds of individuals adversely affected by Corbett's hoax, and would be good for America.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sally Li

Parent's right to be in parks with children in Orange County Ca.If a parent must register as a sex offender (regardless of offense....even a misdemeanor that happened 20 years ago) they can't be in public parks within Orange County with their child. This violates both the parent and child's rights! A parent is the front line protection for their child. Take that basic right away then we all can loose our other rights quite easily!10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Curtis
