This is why the BRCA detection tests cost $3,000 - $4,000 each. If there were no patents on human genes these tests would cost much cheaper . But since patents are allowed, Angelina Jolie's announcement of a double mastectomy even though she had no breast cancer caused the stock price of Myriad to skyrocket to a 52-week high. Our genes are ours, There is no right for a corporation to have a patent on our bodies and thereby make tremendous profits from health care! Why has the media drawn such attention to Angelina's act but ignored this basic fundamental flaw in the laws!

It’s part of a larger bid to buy the Tribune Company’s media assets, which includes The Los Angeles Times and other major newspapers across the country in addition to Hoy, the second-largest spanish-language daily. The Koch brothers—David and Charles—are fossil fuel barons who have devoted their fortunes to bankrolling climate change denial, union busting, and the Tea Party. Now, they want to expand their radical right-wing propaganda to communities across the country by “Fox-news-ifying” local papers like Hoy. Hoy and El Sentinel readers are key stakeholders in the decision. By showing Tribune Company executives that the public counts on them for accurate and informative journalism, we can help persuade them not to sell to climate change deniers. We can’t allow respected journalistic institutions to become mouthpieces for the Kochs’ corrupt agenda.

I am finished with your greed and exploitation of workers. It's bad enough that you pay us – many of whom are adults with children – $7.25 an hour. But you also STEAL from us? You should be ashamed. Government by the people is increasingly under attack by big money in politics and corporate constitutional rights, and only an amendment to the U.S. Constitution can fix the problem. When the Benghazi tragedy occurred, during this previous fall, the GOP nominee made a public statement, despite his not representing the United States in any official capacity, denigrating the manner in which the events were handled. Recently, ABC News ran an exposé attempting to reinforce these same "talking points," and the GOP has consistently pursued a line of questioning, to personally make our President appear as though he was engaged in some cover-up. However, the ABC reporter, who claimed he saw those specific emails, did NOT, and furthermore, upon release by the President of emails related to this incident, the GOP changed and altered those emails highlighting those specific talking points in order to reflect negatively on our current President. Altering official governmental documents, in my estimation is worthy of an investigation by Darrell Issa and his committee. Of specific interest are the following: (1) Why did then GOP nominee Mitt Romney make a public statement denigrating the character of our current president only to make further disparaging comments accusing our president of mishandling the affairs, when all testimony points in another direction. (2) Why did the ABC News Reporter, who provided the main commentary for their expose on Benghazi, say he looked at the emails in question, only to find out later that he did not and placed the email content in his own words to fit his narrative? (3) Why is it that the GOP claims they are "outraged" over the loss of four American lives, but when holding these hearings, they have not addressed one single process issue which WAS responsible and articulated by the ARB (Accountability Review Board), while going on a "witch-hunt" trying to continue the false narrative that this President engaged in a cover-up. (4) Who was the ABC reporter's "source." Perhaps, this is the greatest issue, because once a source is deemed to be a liar, then it is incumbent upon all to find out who that source was. That is, they should not be protected by the protections afforded other integrity filled journalists.

Having been a die-hard proud Apple user and fan since 1984, I am TERRIBLY disappointed in the news that Apple has avoided sharing its profits with the American people. I urge Apple to rectify this and make an example to other tax evading corporations

We need quality places to shop close to home. Save our Target, please! It would be a disgrace to close this store, there is no good reason to close it. No shoppers of this Target will do to other Targets - the other ones are too far away. Please don't take it away from us. We NEED you here!
