BOYCOTT STARBUCKS IF SCHULTZ RUNS AS INDEPENDENTSchultz running as an independent risks an unmitigated disaster resulting in Trump's reelection. A loud and clear message that millions of people are ferociously intolerant of such a move on his part might have an impact. At any rate, it would send a message.36 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jeffrey Vogelgesang

Gov. Newsom, Test Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant for SafetyPG & E, the company that manages Diablo Canyon, cannot be depended on to protect the people of California. The company is facing bankruptcy resulting from massive Northern California fires and a fatal gas explosion. Please intervene to take charge of testing for safety at Diablo Canyon, a nuclear plant located on an active earthquake fault near San Luis Obispo, and assure the people of California the plant will not re-open if tests prove the nuclear plant is unsafe. In 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission warned that Diablo Unit One was among the five most embrittled reactors in the U.S. Because the internals of all atomic reactors are subjected to intense heat, pressure and radiation, critical metals can lose their resiliency and shatter, leading to catastrophe. Cracking of dry casks at other nuclear sites, including San Onofre, make essential a full evaluation of the management of nuclear waste at Diablo. Additionally, a dozen earthquake faults have been discovered near Diablo since Unit One was designed, raising questions as to whether the reactor would be able to withstand a serious earthquake. It's imperative we avoid a nuclear accident that could endanger the lives of California residents.2,666 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Marcy Winograd

Villas at Oakwell Farms: Improve security measuresVillas Property Management, There has been a sharp increase in car break-ins in our apartment complex during the past few months. The residents of Villas at Oakwell Farms pay to live in a gated community with a security guard with the belief that our property, ourselves, and our loved ones will be safe. Since the car break-ins have increased, the Villas has provided no response to how safety measures will be improved to prevent future break-ins from occurring. We believe this inaction is negligent especially since reports of theft have been increasingly reported to the Villas management. We, the residents, demand: 1. A meeting for the entire apartment complex that addresses the following: a. Inform residents of all security issues that have occurred in the past 12 months: car vandalism, car break-in, property damage, theft, burglary, and assault and the steps the Villas has taken to address these security issues. b. Inform residents about security measures the Villas will take including but not limited to: i. Having security guards make hourly rounds around the entirety of the apartment complex ii. Installing two security cameras per building iii. Hiring another security guard, outlining their hours on duty, job description, and frequency and areas of patrol iv. Timely address of broken gate issues and notifying residents via email or text when the gate is malfunctioning so they can take actions to protect themselves and their property If preventative measures do not take place within a month, we demand that our rent is decreased by 10% because we no longer live in an apartment complex that can meet our security demands.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Haley Yaw

WholeFoods: stop selling Sabra hummus! We are calling for a boycott of Sabra hummus (and all Sabra products) because Sabra is partially owned by Strauss Foods, which actively supports the Golani brigade, an “elite” unit of the Israeli army which is responsible for grave human rights abuses. The point of boycotting products such as Sabra hummus is to encourage public scrutiny of companies complicit in Israel's continued human rights violations.372 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Penny Fellbrich

Give My Family Internet, At&TMy family and I live no more than six miles to the nearest town, Mexia, TX. Our house will contain three generations of family, my family, which has two college students including myself. My mom was offered a job with epic games, which is now on hold since we have Hughes Satellite Internet, which is not suitable for the job. We live a mile from old DSL internet, that they no longer carry. By doing this petition, we are hoping to bring internet to the area we live in.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by jade a snell

Tell Harvard: Cut Ties With Makers of OxyContinPurdue Pharma, which makes OxyContin, is owned by the Sackler family. According to the New York Times, "Since OxyContin came on the market in 1996, more than 200,000 people have died in the United States from overdoses involving prescription opioids, and Purdue Pharma has been the target of numerous lawsuits." Here in Massachusetts, the opioid crisis has hit hard. In 2016 alone there were 1,821 opioid-related overdose deaths in our state. Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey recently filed a lawsuit that aims to hold members of the Sackler family personally responsible for deliberately misleading the public about the dangers of OxyContin, but we need to pressure Harvard to completely cut ties as well.14,850 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Jeremy Cohen

Credit Cards and Banks: Don't Penalize Furloughed Federal Employees! This is one of those rare, clear cut moments in which the leaders of our financial corporations have an opportunity to lead or to fail. Failure to act to help furloughed federal workers is likely to result in profit down the line for these corporations who were so recently beneficiaries of that very government. What these companies will collect in penalties, fines, fees, and high rates of interest is so tiny compared to the magnanimity of the windfall they received as their tax liability was reduced. Helping the furloughed federal workers, or at least not hurting these workers with late fees, penalties, and high rates of interest for prolonged credit card debt, sets a remarkable precedent and is simply the right thing to do.32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Paola Cabal

Netflix! Please remove Louis CK shows.Disgraced comedian, Louis CK, who already admitted to past sexual misconduct, is again revealing his true nature, by making jokes about Parkland Highschool shooting victims and survivors. Such an emrassment should not be celebrated on Netflix. Netflix has been a pioneer in changing hearts and minds through increasing representation and creating content that makes all Americans question their assumptions about the other. As such, Netflix should keep its values by removing any Louis CK content from its streaming services.237 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Chloe Thompson

Green BurialMost funeral homes in this country are owned by three major corporations, which have created a monopoly to prey on the grief of families. In Michigan, a funeral director can charge any amount for “services,” so that in a green burial where nothing is required but the signature, those services cost anywhere upwards of $5,000. I have been deeply affected by the process of burying my mother, who wanted a simple, organic, and inexpensive end of life, which she was denied by this industry.30 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ann Grimm

Tell the CPUC to break up the PG&E monopoly!PG&E is asking to raise ratepayers' rates AGAIN while state lawmakers scramble to limit the utility's liability for the deaths and damages resulting from PG&E's negligence, even after it has been announced by the CPUC that PG&E has been falsifying documents since the San Bruno tragedy. Anyone else would have gone to prison yet PG&E has repeatedly been rewarded by receiving approval to raise rates to cover the costs of their criminal conduct. Lawmakers claim they are concerned about the effect PG&E's demise may have, but seem to ignore the immense economic impact PG&E's years of criminal conduct has had on our state. Tell the CPUC that PG&E has cost us enough! CPUC- do your job and break up PG&E- it's time to start over.342 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Lisa Giampaoli
