OSHA: Require MSDS's to identify GMO's in the worplace. The existence of GMO foods is nearly universal in the workplace. Each and every individual strain of any gmo crop is an unknown potential toxin for which no long term studies have been conducted. Workers are not merely exposed, but actually consume, in massively greater than parts per million quantities, these unnatural compounds, whose safety is compellingly suspect by an ever growing body of concerned scientists. As a potential toxin, the Right to Know Act should apply to gmo's in the workplace and not enjoy any exemptions that might apply to natural foods from the actual Earth biology. Regardless, concerned workers have the right to know under the Act and food manufacturers must supply the requested MSDS's upon request.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dick Boland

Don't let Apple dodge billions of dollars in taxes!Apple is the country's most profitable technology company--yet it's hiding billions of dollars in offshore companies to avoid paying taxes. We've seen tax dodging before, but as one economist described it, Apple's complex scheme shows "unbelievable chutzpah." Apple wasn't satisfied with putting money in offshore tax havens with low rates--it created foreign subsidiaries that have no employees and are exempt from paying any taxes anywhere in the world. Between 2009 and 2012, one of Apple's foreign subsidiaries, which has not filed any tax return, had an income of $30 billion. Everyday people pay our taxes to fund things like good schools and safe communities--huge companies like Apple need to pay their fair share too. Sign our petition today.318 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Joe Dinkin

Apple Computer, Pay your fair share of taxesHaving been a die-hard proud Apple user and fan since 1984, I am TERRIBLY disappointed in the news that Apple has avoided sharing its profits with the American people. I urge Apple to rectify this and make an example to other tax evading corporations13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amy Billingsley

MR. PRESIDENT: STOP DOING BUSINESS WITH COMPANIES THAT KEEP MILLIONS IN POVERTYThis morning, I walked off my job, because what I make -- less than $10 an hour -- just isn't enough to pay my rent and support my family. I work for a U.S. government contractor at the National Air and Space Museum. There are many people like me -- they work at places we all love like Union Station. The National Gallery of Art. And while CEOs of government contractors are making millions, we’re paid so little that we can’t possibly make ends meet without public assistance. The federal government is by far the largest employer of poverty-wage jobs in the country, with its contract workers struggling to survive on minimum wage, or even less. CEOs make millions, while we, their employees, can’t make ends meet. I've seen what has happened in places like New York and Chicago when workers stand up together and demand a living wage. It needs to happen here in Washington D.C. too, where we are dealing with the same issues despite being in President Obama's backyard. We work for many of the same employers, and get the same poverty wages as these workers. But unlike them, our bosses operate under contract in federally owned buildings. The White House should take whatever means necessary, including executive orders, to lift millions out of poverty by ensuring that all federal agencies pay a living wage. We want to send a message that it’s time to stand up for working people and our communities.929 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Melissa Roseboro

Help with student loans for single moms- debt forgiveness, reduction and new loansAny single mom out there knows how important it is to get an education to provide the best life for her children. The sad news is - most who live check to check and can barely pay bills cannot afford to pay loans back. Many like myself have even stopped applying for more because of the old debt that already haunts them. I'm moving for a bill to help single moms student debt to be significantly reduced or forgiven so we can focus on bettering our future and our children's! Even if you aren't a single mom or a mom at all - please help us. Education should not Keep us depressed or in fear but enable us to personal power! Thanks!40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Natalie

Survey to measure knowledge/understanding about employees legal rights in the workplace. The United States of America is a nation of people that as a whole understands the socio-economic value in guaranteeing people's rights in the workplace. Many laws and agencies have been established to safeguard these rights. However, I suspect the average working American does not know how to exercise these rights in order to protect themselves from their employers. I believe that we are living challenging economic times where employer abuse (whether it is verbal harassment, wage theft, or illegal discrimination) has become so rampant that it is imperative for individuals to understand what they can do benefit from the laws that protect them. My aim of this petition will be to measure my audience knowledge in this area and identify areas of need in order to make an educate recommendation for legislative changes.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Elvia Saravia

StalledThis country is stalled. I am a small business person. It appears no matter what party one belongs to this country is not helping those who are in need of food, education, shelter, employment, tax breaks for the small business, quality of life, good roads, safe bridges, and a host of other things. I am appalled. It is upsetting for me to see my tax dollars being used by those in state and federal government not be of more help. The famous Keynesian Approach is not being used. We used this approach during FDR. Children and families are hurting. Jobs are needed. Congress continues to play games and believes the people are not watching. Also, I am frustrated by the lack of progress that no one was held accountable for the wall street problems. The best interests of the people are not being served. What happened to working together for the greater good. Our greatest leaders did that for the country. Thank you. Rudy Flora1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rudy Flora

Censure Speaker Boehner!Since January 3, 2013, when the 113th Congress was gaveled into session by Speaker Boehner, this Congress has held no major or minor votes on the following: jobs, education, healthcare, or infrastructure on behalf of or in behest of the people of the United States of America. Although the Constitution of the United States of America has no clearly defined rules or regulations for the Speaker of the House of Representatives (save that a person shall be "chosen" as the "presiding officer" of the House of Representatives), it is and has been understood that the speaker is the presiding officer and shall be the administrator and procurer of the general function and or legislative business that shall come before the House. It is therefore the opinion of the petitioner that John A. Boehner, the Honorable, has done anything but in that regard. As such, he should be censured by the residing members of the United States House of Representatives for such inaction.358 of 400 SignaturesCreated by David R. Davidson
