Income tax laws for the widow & widower. Yes, my wife past away and now since all of the children are grown and out of the house I have to fill as a single person. After 19 years,11 months, 11 days I don't fill single. I think this tax Law should be changed so all the widows and widowers can fill as Widows & Widowers.

Now that the IRS has been audited, I am sure there are many issues that need to be addressed.

its time for the governnment to stop utility companies from increasing their rates until the public is given an increase for cost of living. These companies that control what we basically need to survive are allowed to constantly increase their revenue and be allowed tax credits from our tax dollars only to increase ttheir profits.the average person can barely pay the amounts needed for a basic way of sustaining life. The same companies will shut down vital services on people that has paid for their services for decades with no reemorse which in some cases causes death.How can they have it both ways.TThe rule is no monopolies but ameran ue and laclede gas operate under some kind of special rule which allows them to have no competition so they raise their rates at every oppertunity .while still enjoying our tax dollars to operate

It has been well over five years since Kentucky State Government Employees have been afforded a pay raise. Kentucky State Government workers are very committed to serving our people, are very hard workers and are constantly seeing the prices for goods and services go up along with the annual increase in SSI and Disability that citizens receive, but there has been no increase in State Government pay rates in years. We constantly pay for the goods and services others receive and in return have not been compensated for the hard work and services that State Employees give out. The time is now to start giving our most valuable employees pay increases.

Don't charge more taxes to North Carolina Residents. This bill will make it harder for the people to register a vehicle. In addition to paying $68 (for title and tag) and 3% $$$ of the actual car value, people will be forced to pay wherever % imposed by the county they live in. This bill would easily add up to hundreds of dollars to register any vehicle in all North Carolina. Cmon let's make our voice heard! Let's stop secret legislation in NC!

Internet merchants should pay sales tax. Exempting these merchants is not fair to local merchants who must pay taxes and it also short changes state and local governments.

The Williamsport School Board wants to fire our school district cafeteria employees and hire an out of town for-profit corporation to provide those services. Why would we want to fire local residents and let our tax dollars leave our city to go into the bank account of a for profit corporation?

Without a more even distribution of wealth, this is impossible, especially when we consider the fact that the average CEO earns 275 times the average employee in that company. Financial and social ascension begins with the people, it will assist with ending poverty and most importantly, provide a better starting point for every American to manifest their destiny.

Fast food and retail workers in Milwaukee are striking. Together we're launching the Raise up MKE campaign and standing up to the enormous corporations we work for to make sure they get a simple message: Workers like us should be paid a fair wage that lets us make ends meet. Most of us make $7.25 an hour – or just barely more. That means our average salary is less than $19,000 per year, which just isn’t enough to cover basic needs like rent, food, health care, transportation, and often times a family to support. A lot of us are forced to rely on public assistance to make ends meet. Fast food and retail outlets are the new factory floors, and like thousands of workers before us, we are organizing to demand better pay and conditions. Paying fast food and retail workers a livable wage will not only help us support our families, but it will also help strengthen Milwaukee's entire economy. When we’re paid a fair wage, we’ll have money to buy the everyday items we need, keeping the money in our community and making our neighborhoods safer. Here in America, everyone who works hard should be able to afford basic necessities like groceries, rent, and transportation for themselves and their families. Stand with Milwaukee's fast food and retail workers in demanding they get the respect -- and living wage -- they deserve.

Employers are using credit checks to assess the trustworthiness of applicants. The credit score of an applicant is not a gauge for their character/aptitude.

In today's economy it's harder than ever to get a job. There are tons of well qualified people (like myself) that are looking for gainful employment or to start their careers, but are being held back by credit checks. I have personally been turned down for a job because of my low credit score. I have been contingently hired, but then turned down for a job with the TSA at Tweed Airport in CT as a luggage screener because my credit score was low. I, like everyone else had bills that my minimum wage job did not cover. I went from making $18.00/hr to $9.00/hr after having my son and have had a hard time catching up to where I was. I am not a bad person, I don't steal, swindle, pilfer. I am honest, hardworking and eager to work! All I need is the opportunity. With employers using credit checks for the base to hire/not hire applicants is wrong and their decisions are leaving a lot of eligible employees out of the mix. Criminal checks should be considered, not credit checks.
