Keep Peregrine Unspoilt; Say No to the AT&T AntennaCity Planning are reviewing an application from AT&T that would site a 45’ Antenna, disguised as a tree immediately to the south of St. Francis. This “camouflaged” metal tree will tower approx. 20’ over the existing treeline, impacting the native beauty of Peregrine. Enough is enough, the area is well covered by wireless technologies. Industrial lampposts recently added to the NW of Woodman, and the barn on the ridge to the south of Woodmen both contain wireless antennas. This infrastructure has the capacity to support the bandwidth required by additional cellular providers. Perhaps more importantly, if City Planning grant this application and the Use Variance of the existing hillside and valley, it would set a precedence for the future. Opening the door to additional commercial and residential development. This is not how many of our neighbors want to see Peregrine developed.101 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Andrew Bird

Responsible Renewables! My husband and I invested in a home in the country to get away from industry and now we may be moving because of wind power plant development. A neighbor has a child with inner ear problems and will be in proximity to the proposed development. Wind turbines emit low frequency sound waves which can cause vertigo. Industrial wind turbines decrease land values! For more information visit: http://www.garnethillwind.com/14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Laura Marshall

President Obama: It's time to ban oil trainsFayette County, West Virginia, is reeling from an oil train disaster today. Residents face flames shooting 300 feet in the air, and oil is spilling into the Kanawha River, the drinking water source for downstream communities.[1] From today's event to 2013's massive oil train explosion in North Dakota to the 47 people who lost their lives after an oil train explosion in Quebec, it is clear that oil trains put our communities at risk for death, injury, and destruction. Incredibly, first responders and local officials aren't usually informed that these unsafe trains are cruising through their communities carrying millions of gallons of explosive oil. These trains travel through major communities across the country, putting millions inside the evacuation zone of an accident like this. Our objective is clear: we need to get these dangerous oil trains out of our communities and out of Pennsylvania before they cause a catastrophic accident in the Keystone State. Governor Brown: Keep Toxic Oil and Gas Wastewater Out of Our Drinking WaterBIG POLLUTERS ARE ILLEGALLY INJECTING WASTE INTO DRINKING WATER SOURCES: SHUT THEM DOWN! Sign today! Petition will be delivered THIS WEEK Stop Big Polluters from ruining our aquifers! Californians are outraged. In this time of severe and prolonged drought — while we’re struggling to conserve water and worried for the future of our communities — our own state government has been permitting oil and gas companies to inject vast quantities of hazardous waste fluid into our aquifers. Reports surfacing now reveal that drilling operations dump chemically-contaminated fluids into the California water supply, and the state’s Division of Oil Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) — the government agency under Gov. Brown tasked with supervising these operations — confirmed that they authorized the systematic pollution of groundwater. DOGGR verified the reports but did not change course, and Big Polluters still have permission from the State of California to carry on with business as usual. Despite public outcry and in obvious violation of federal law, oil and gas companies are sticking with state-authorized groundwater pollution to solve their hazardous waste disposal problems. They must be stopped. As Californians, we understand the value and growing scarcity of our groundwater, and extreme drought has bound us together in our struggle to conserve. When our public officials fail to protect our sources of water that would be suitable for drinking, they betray our efforts and risk our vital resources. Voters are outraged: Take action now! List the California Pika as an Endangered Species Now1. The pika is a favorite sight for California hikers who often see them hopping across the rocks and carrying little bouquets of wildflowers in their mouth. 2.Using historical data, researchers found that pikas are no longer found in 15 percent of their California range, places that are on average 2.2 degrees warmer than sites where they remain. They predict that by 2070, pikas will have disappeared from nearly 40 to 90 percent of those sites.2,089 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Anthony Rogers-Wright

Support a Fracking Ban in Florida! In states all across the country, fracking for oil and gas has led to water contamination, air pollution, and serious public health impacts. What's more, fracking also contributes to climate change. Simply stated, fracking is too dangerous to be part of our energy plan. Please protect the people and environment of Florida by supporting a statewide ban on fracking.91 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Alexander

Tell Maryland Legislators: Fracking Moratorium Now!With Maryland’s new governor, Larry Hogan, saying he supports moving forward with fracking for gas in our state -- and with mounting evidence of the threat to our health -- we don’t have a moment to lose. Ask your state legislators to protect Maryland residents by passing a long-term moratorium on fracking! The Protect Our Health and Communities Act (HB 449/SB 409), recently introduced in the Maryland General Assembly with over 45 co-sponsors, would put a hold on drilling in Maryland. The bill would provide time for long-term health studies on fracking to be conducted, so that we fully understand the risks before deciding to subject Maryland residents to a public health experiment. Call on your legislators to act in 2015 -- before the gas industry is allowed to rush in and cause potentially irreversible harm to our air, water, soil and health.323 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Shilpa Joshi, CCAN

Support BIG investment in infrastructure jobsThe cost of infrastructure for renewable energy is at an all-time low and dropping steadily. We have a chance of meeting the planetary goal of cutting our greenhouse gases by 8 to 10% per year beginning NOW if we want a 50/50 chance of keeping below a rise in temperature of 2 degrees Celsius. What cleaner way to put rural New Mexicans back to work?26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Debaura James

People of Earth- Stand Up and Demand Your 10 Basic, Universal, Economic and Environmental Rights!According to the scientific community, we do not have much time left to sort out our environmental practices, so that the earth can support the life that is currently here. However, if we act NOW, we can prevent the extinction of approximately 200 species a day, tens of thousands of human deaths everyday from poverty, lift people out of crippling poverty in richer countries, as well as in 'developing nations', and ensure that our earth can support the life that is on it. We, as humanity on this earth, claim these ten basic, universal birthrights for everyone who so chooses: The right to: *sustainable, nutritious food *sustainable clean water *sanitation *sustainable shelter *sustainable clothing *healthcare *education *access to sustainable transportation *sustainable energy *an earth that can support the life on it- meaning, in addition to sustainable energy, that no more unnecessary consumer goods are produced that are not environmentally sustainable- recyclable, etc. That's 10 basic universal rights. If humanity could come together and agree upon those rights, and then agree on effective action that we can take in order to ensure those rights (ideally starting with a peaceful, international day of public protest), it would be revolutionary. It would change our world for the better so incredibly drastically- we would have economic rights, which would probably be delivered through a universal basic income (that's how we would provide for the basic rights that I outlined), and we would have a healthy earth with sane environmental laws.512 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Claudine Harrington
