• Let's stop the trend towards the school to prison pipeline
Our purpose is to inform and to promote social change within our education system. We want to focus on the structure first, where the students develop and learn different behaviors and attitudes. This is a vulnerable and important time for students so, we want to advocate for better staff development and implementation of non discriminatory practice in schools. We are advocating towards mental health and trauma-informed practices to be put into schools nationwide. The students need support, not to be reprimanded unfairly with punishment.

  • Impeach Justice Clarence Thomas
Damning new reports show that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has concealed decades of expensive gifts he received from billionaire Republican megadonor Harlan Crow. These new revelations add a new level of corruption to Thomas's profile. We already knew that Thomas has abused his position—from refusing to recuse himself from cases regarding his wife's involvement in the attempt to overturn the 2020 election to crusading on behalf of his right-wing allies to overturn abortion access and so much more. It has become clear that his wife—longtime conservative activist Ginni Thomas—was actively urging the White House to overturn election results both leading up to January 6 and after the deadly insurrection. Thomas' failure to recuse himself from cases about January 6 warrants immediate investigation and heightened alarm. And it's only the latest in a long history of conflicts of interest in the service of a right-wing agenda and mixing his powerful role with his conservative political activism. He has shown he cannot be an impartial justice and is more concerned with covering up his wife's coup attempts than the health of the Supreme Court. Thomas—who sided with the majority on overturning Roe and removing nationwide legal protections for abortions—made it clear in that ruling what the right-wing court could do next: overturn high court rulings that establish gay rights and contraception rights. And while he carries this right-wing agenda, he accepts hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts from a right-wing megadonors.   Ever since his confirmation hearings more than 30 years ago, the public has questioned Thomas's ethics and behavior. His abuse of power, his conflicts of interest, and his secrecy about his financial and political ties make him unfit to serve. He must resign—or Congress must immediately investigate and impeach.

  • Tell Gov. Ron DeSantis to Immediately Fire Christina Pushaw
First the Florida GOP described the “Don’t Say Gay” bill–HB 1557–as legislation that would protect parents’ rights in education. But now Governor DeSantis’ press secretary has exposed the real agenda behind this egregious bill. In a recent Twitter post, the governor’s spokesperson, Christina Pushaw, accused the bills’ opponents of being groomers of young children (aka pedophiles), going so far as to single out Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith, a legislator of the utmost integrity. In earlier controversies, Pushaw called the Archbishop of Miami a liar, blamed Democrats for organizing a Nazi rally to hurt the governor, and harassed members of the media for reporting factual information.

  • Sign the petition: Tell Congress to pass the No Facial Recognition at the IRS bill!
This year, it’s the IRS that made a mistake. When the IRS announced that they wanted taxpayers to submit to facial recognition technology just to access their tax information, the backlash from the public and politicians in both parties was swift! As a result, the IRS suspended it’s contract with ID.me, their facial recognition vendor. But that’s not enough. They could quietly reinstate that contract, or another one like it, anytime they’d like. That’s why Senators Roy Blunt and Jeff Merkley introduced the No Facial Recognition at the IRS bill – and in a deadlocked, divided Congress, it’s already got bipartisan support. We need to speak out now to help it become law. Sign the petition: Tell your member of Congress to pass the No Facial Recognition at the IRS bill! Facial recognition isn’t just creepy and invasive, it’s been well documented to have racial and gender biases – meaning that women and people of color have a harder time being accurately recognized by the software. No American taxpayer should have to jump through this unnecessary high-tech hoop just to access their tax information online. Especially when the technology itself has trouble telling women and people of color apart from each other. It’s telling that the No Facial Recognition bill already has bipartisan support in a bitterly divided Congress. The message is clear: emerging technologies, like facial recognition, are a Wild West, and without regulation could lead to dystopian consequences. Together, activists caused an uproar over the IRS’s use of facial recognition earlier this year. Now we must build on this momentum and make sure the IRS can’t do anything like this in the future. Sign the petition: Tell your member of Congress to pass the No Facial Recognition at the IRS bill!

  • Save Florida Solar industry
It is important to have as many voice be heard about the Florida Light and Power screwing over the people of Florida with rate hikes and taking away solar business and jobs in our state. With Florida Light and power having a hand in writing the SB 1024 bill the utility company is essentially stealing power from owners of solar panel systems. The company will take the power and sell it back to consumers without having to pay for the electricity generated by our systems that have been paid for out of our own pockets.

  • Abolish the Electoral College
As young adults, we're years away from entering the voting booth. Not just in Presidential elections, but congressional, local, and other community races. The Electoral College was established in 1787 and is not fit for a 21st century world. The American people should be responsible for selecting the President, not appointed Electors working for a system that isn't representative of the beliefs and votes of America. It's time to create a national popular vote in the United States!

  • Prosecute Trump!
The New York Grand Jury has voted to indict Donald Trump of crimes related to paying hush money to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election. On top of that, he was found guilty in a civil case against E. Jean Carroll, and he's just been indicted by a federal court for his theft of federal documents. Trump and his team are also likely to face indictments in Georgia for their attempts to manipulate the state’s 2020 election results, and Trump is also under investigation by the Department of Justice for his role in inciting the deadly January 6 insurrection, as well as for covering up his possession of highly classified documents. Donald Trump has a decades-long history of criminality and corruption, and for too long he has been allowed to skate by without legal consequences for his actions. Enough is enough. We will never stop fighting to make our claims of "justice for all" a reality: he will be punished for all of his crimes, and we will see to it that his co-conspirators are as well, from Marjorie Taylor Greene to Jair Bolsonaro. Join over 350,000 MoveOn members and sign the petition now demanding for the Department of Justice to move forward with charging Trump as well—because nobody is above the law.

  • Congress: Don't Meet With Dictator Lobbyists
The US government supports seven of nine dictatorships across the Middle East. Many of these dictators -- and other brutal governments -- hire lobbyists, public relations experts and advisors to help influence US politicians and shape the American mind. Here are some terrible examples: - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's former chief of staff Nadeam Elshami is now a lobbyist for Egypt's dictator. - Former Republican US senator Norm Coleman is a lobbyist for Saudi Arabia's dictatorship. His firm, Hogan Lovells, has received almost $14 million from the Saudi monarchy since 2014. - Former Republican Member of Congress Ed Royce is also now a lobbyist for Egypt's dictator. - And former Republican Member of Congress Howard “Buck” McKeon and his firm have made over $2 million from lobbying for Saudi Arabia’s dictatorship since 2016. These former elected officials and congressional staff earn vast amounts of money supporting the very dictators and oil monarchies that make life miserable for people across the planet. US representatives and senators must refuse to meet with lobbyists, advisors, and public relations experts who work for dictators or apartheid governments.
