All Americans are being harmed by the Shutdown and the chaos over raising the debt ceiling limit. The recent actions by a few extremist Congresspersons is criminal behavior. Those who overtly block democratic process are unfit to serve. The Justice Department must defend the American public by stopping these few who have selfishly and unnecessarily inflicted economic and social harm on the many.

The purpose of this petition is to communicate to the United States House of Representatives that we, the undersigned, are American citizens who want to impeach and remove from office Representives John Boehner, Eric Cantor and other Tea Party Republicans, and Senator Ted Cruz, for abuse of power. Abuse of power is cited in the U.S. Constitution as an impeachable offense. These individuals forced the shutdown of the Federal Government contrary to the will of the majority of the members of the House, the U.S. Senate, and the American people. This shutdown is harming the American people. Background: In order to block the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, a law which was passed in 2010 and subsequently upheld by the United States Supreme Court, the above-named individuals recklessly conspired to force the shutdown of the Federal Government. This shutdown is causing financial, physical and emotional distress and ruin to many thousands of American citizens, including but not limited to: military veterans, hundreds of thousands of Federal employees and contractors who have been furloughed and/or are working without pay, providers of essential services, families and children, the elderly, and countless others. The government shutdown has brought uncertainty to the nation's and the world's financial markets, and may result in creating another recession in the United States of America and the entire world. Additionally, Representatives Boehner, Cantor, and some others in the United States House of Representatives rigged the rules so that only they or their designees can bring the government shutdown matter to a vote in the House of Representatives. These individuals have refused to bring the matter to a vote. Their abuse of power, their reckless and irresponsible actions are causing great harm to the American people and the world; therefore, we petition that Boehner, Cantor, Cruz and others be impeached and removed from office.

I believe this shutdown (plus any future occurrences) would have been settled much sooner, and probably never would have occurred if the House, Congress & the President were to not receive their paychecks during any Government shutdown.

We are starting this petition because Ted Cruz is a dangerous demagogue using half truths and lies to spread propaganda endangering the economic future of all US Citizens and the world economy. His actions equate to those of Senator Joseph McCarthy who "debased the Senate to to the level of a forum for hate and character assassination". He stated that he wants a US Senate filled with 100 Jesse Helms, a demagogue in his own right. He said that the Health.gov web site was designed by Nigerian e-mail scammers. He said the following about stopping Obama Care: "Look, I am in favor of shutting down the government and not raising the debt ceiling, but lets not kid ourselves. Those are only half measures. If we are really serious about stopping Obama Care, we'll destroy the entire planet."

Millions of us will have to pay higher interest, lose investment principal, lose jobs, lose homes, etc., all because a handful of bullies in the House of Representatives want to play with fire. Let's make sure they understand there could be unforeseen negative results for them and their backers. Lets make sure THEIR jobs, houses, investments, and property are used to secure their stupid childish ess.

It's time for extreme partisan politics to end, and time to end minority rule by hostage taking and brinksmanship.

Tea Party Republicans should be removed from office and prosecuted, especially if they use the debt ceiling as another tool of extortion. It is time Americans use due process the way it was meant to be used and put an end to the Tea Party Republicans abuse of power.

I am starting this petition because the hero worship of this horrible human from history needs to end. He murdered thousands of natives, encouraged the sex trade of girls aged 9 and 10 years old, started the slave trade, tortured native peoples and robbed them of anything of value. This "holiday" was created in the 1930s, when we celebrated anything that held up the power of the white male. It's 2013 and we are VERY clear as to the history of Columbus and his maniacal and greedy desire to get as much gold as he could for himself, and to "rule" the natives as a king. There is absolutely no reason that we should celebrate this man any longer and it's time for us to move forward and end the hero worship of this murdering lout.

A little over a week ago, a new right-wing recall petition process began against another good progressive Colorado lawmaker, Senator Evie Hudak of Arvada. If these extremists manage to take out just one more progressive Senator, the radical right will take control of the Colorado Senate.

Why do we honor a man whose legacy has been a total misrepresentation of historical facts and actually a tragedy in America's history. Why not honor Native Americans whose land our ancestors stole and whose populations were decimated by the invaders like Christopher Columbus?
